The host, Simmy was very helpful as this was my first VRBO rental. The property was beautiful with tropical flora and the house was as advertised, amazing.
Simmy was great, her home was cozy. The thing I didn't like was that the grill was far away and the big ants wanted to attack while I was grilling. Otherwise Simmys home had everything we needed for a great trip.
Kitchen was great for cooking meals! There is shopping nearby but Costco is best for value. Everyone had their own space which is great for adults and the porch (lani) was amazing we spent most of our time there! The beach just couple blocks away has the best snorkeling around. We rented snorkel gear from the beach shop right across from beach. Amazing place and a great place to stay while on the island! Simmy is wonderful!
Home is very nice, centrally located. Nice to see some wildlife in the trees in the backyard. Had everything we needed, I would use the house in the future.
The house was a perfect Hawaiin style house complete with great lanai, wonderful view of the ocean, Close to beaches. The space was perfect for our family and the kids loved the lizards, named most of them and counted them daily. Definitely would stay again!
This was the perfect house for our family of 6! Simmy was quick to respond to questions. ACs in the bedrooms (and even in the sleeping nook in the living room) worked great. Kitchen was exceptionally well stocked. We loved having beach chairs, umbrellas, noodles, and a big rolling cooler for the beaches. Bedding and beds in general were just ok. Above ground pool was clean and nice to tread water in. Our favorite part of the house was the huge lanai: gorgeous setting and very comfortable. We walked to Kahulu'u Beach and snorkeled several times. We day-tripped all over the island and were glad when we got "home" that there were many restaurants a few minutes drive from the house (Sunset Kai Lanai, Magics Beach Grill, and Tropics were our favorites).
The lanai was our favorite place to hang out. So much room and the view was beautiful. The pool was perfect for the end of day. We definitely would come back.
Simmi is a marvelous hospitable host. Amazing communication answered promptly when we had any. The home is well situated, adorably decorated and most of all as the best Lanai. So much seating. Beautiful view. We played games on the table outside. Enjoyed coffee in the morning. Dinner on Lanai. You can almost skip the whole rest of the house and just have the Lanai!! Kitchen is fully stuffed if you will need. We were here with a group of seven, and never once felt like we were crowded or bumping into anybody. Also on major highlight of this location is the 5-minute walk to the beach which has amazing snorkeling. We were snorkeling with sea turtles. Oh, and we saw whales off the Lanai. Big fluffy beach towels were available for our time there. Bathrooms were stocked well.
Lovely home, exceptionally clean on arrival, well-equipped and conveniently located. Fantastic deck with ocean view became the center for our family meals and relaxation. Beach parks within walking distance, well maintained pool on property, and shopping center within a few minutes drive. Gracious host provided an arrival tour of the premises and recommendations for exploring Hawai’i, all in the spirit of Aloha.
Great location, Simmy was very helpful. Loved the huge lanai. The younger adults loved having a separate building to stay in. The furnishings were beautiful!
We had an amazing stay!! Easy walking distance to both Magic Sands and Kahaluu beach. MASSIVE lanai, where we spent most of our time, and a few of us even spent the night on. Simmy is a doll, and totally helpful, taking the time to meet with us in person at check in. Absolutely perfect stay!
Group of 10 traveling for vacation. 6 adults and 4 teens.
Pros:
3 bathrooms
Beautiful view
Public access within walking distance
Safe neighborhood
Responsive host
We would definitely rent Simmy's house again ! It really felt like a "home" and not a rental...it was nicely decorated and had plenty of seating areas.
We spent most of our time on the lanai looking at the ocean !!
We really enjoyed ourselves here and hope to come back in the future.
Thank you Simmy !
Great location. Close to town, stores and easy walk to the beach. The residence is beautiful and the house and kitchen are well stocked with everything you’ll need to enjoy your time on the island. Located on a main road through town so traffic noise can be loud and steady at times. Driveway can be difficult to see at night. Reflector at the entrance of the drive would remedy that. Communication with the owner was great. Overall a great place to stay.
Staying in a lovely traditional Hawaiian home set near the coast with easy access to everything in the Kona area gave our three generation family just the right balance. We could choose to snorkel, explore, shop, adventure, or hang on the ocean view porch and read, knit, and watch the tiny green geckos, birds, and blossoms silently fall, while the 11 year old swam in the pool. Magic memories.
