Joanne has such a beautiful and unique property in the Adirondacks! My college friend and I loved all the little touches throughout the home and the grounds.
This is a lovely historic home, filled with interesting items. It was quiet, and peaceful. We enjoyed watching the hummingbirds, bees and blue jays buzzing around the beautiful gardens. The beach is lovely and quiet.Joanne was a lovely host who provided very thorough information before we arrived, and checked in with us several times to make sure we had what we needed.
A cottage amongst the splendor of nature.A place for comtemplation and the simple pleasures of stillness, smells of the woods, the sounds of birds, and the enjoyment of a peaceful refreshing stay. Our host was very accomadating and complete with all the comforts of home. Joanne was a true healer who graces you with kindness and comfort. Thanks again. Deana,Patti, and Blaze

I felt truly blessed to host YOU, and hope to see you again...xo
It's a unique cottage in a great location, and the longer you're in the house, the more enjoyable it becomes. This very user-friendly cottage was built almost 100 years ago and is in a setting reminiscent of the great camps of the Adirondacks. You're a short walk from the water in a secluded cove, and out the driveway and across the road is easy access to the High Peaks Wilderness area. But if something is needed, heading west, it's only a 10 minute drive to the town of Tupper Lake, and heading east it's only 15 minutes to Saranac Lake, We thoroughly enjoyed the week and wish we had planned a longer stay.

A nice quiet house. Lots of character. An easy walk to the lake. Very relaxing.
Beautiful home in a tranquil location. The house was immaculately clean and Perfect for our 4 family members our dog. We enjoyed the charming interior and the well appointed kitchen for 5 days in the Adirondacks!! The grounds were beautiful with a short walk to canoe on the lake. Joanne was very responsive to our needs and communicated often. Having her nearby in the garage apartment was helpful for us!! Can’t wait to stay again!!
This truly is a sanctuary in the woods, it was everything we hoped it would be and more. Like others have said, the pictures don't do it justice. We can't wait to return :-)
Wonderful environment to rest and relax with many opportunities to explore near by. Joanne’s home is lovingly adorned with personal touches, nostalgic warmth and every amenity for a guest’s convenience.

Jennifer I missed thanking you for your kind words. I hope all is well in your world and that you’ll come again in the near future.!
This is a very unique, special property. The grounds are beautiful and the lake is a short walk down a private road. The house is very comfortable and there are many places to relax and enjoy meals. The kitchen is a cooks dream as everything is high end and fully stocked, including spices. I would highly recommend this property and hope to visit again.
We had an amazing stay at Joanne's place! It is such a beautiful, peaceful location, and the historic home has been kept in meticulous condition. We especially enjoyed the gardens, the frog pond, shooting stars, listening to the loons from the screen porch, and swimming and canoeing in the crystal clear Upper Saranac Lake (which was an easy 5min walk from the home). Joanne was very attentive, and had great recommendations for hikes, blueberry picking and local restaurants.
Joanne has created a truly magical and restful home in the ADKs. Location is great for access to many hikes, lakes and rivers. Her home is immaculate and stocked with all you need to enjoy your stay. Dog friendly, with wonderful places to walk right from the property or short drives to trails. Whether you are looking for a landing place at the end of exploring the many beautiful areas of ADKs or seeking a place to rest and re-energize, Healing Woods hits the spot. Thanks for a wonderful stay! K&A

Thanks to you, Kris and Andrew, for your wonderful Spirits, for my beautiful fall gift and leaving the home so spotless! Here’s hoping someday you’ll find a reason to return… have a beautiful rest of 2025 and beyond!
The property is just as it shows on the website, Joanne does a beautiful job making the house feel like home with all the special touches. We had a wonderful week in the Mountains, hiking, kayaking, blueberrying and resting. Great get away I would recommend this to anyone looking for a nice relaxing time away.

Patty, what delight having you all...your daughters were so beautiful ~ and I will always remember your delightful laugh!
If it was possible to have stayed forever, we would have! Joanne is such a magnificent host, and the property so just so warm and inviting. The surroundings are perfectly idyllic for those looking to have a peaceful getaway, but it's also close enough to Saranac Lake and Lake Placid if you're a mover and shaker. Hands down we would stay here again, and probably will making a summer time reservation soon!

Glenda, thank you. Nothing makes me happier to hear you had an amazing time; please come again! Perhaps a summer beach experience?
Joanne’s house is cozy, charming, and comfortable. In a word, enchanting. We swam every day and barbecued every night. It’s a wonderful place to escape from the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy nature in the most comfortable, accessible way.
We liked our stay at Joanna's house, Great location, quiet, fun old house full of interesting stuff. Close to the lake. well equipped kitchen. Wifi is somewhat slow. It was fine for us, but don't come here is you want to work remotely,
I can't imagine a nicer place to ring in the New Year than at the wonderfully appointed home that Joanne has curated and created. Thank you so much for making it available to us. Every detail was considered and nothing spared. I highly recommend it.
Our family had such a wonderful stay for the July 4th week. This home is close to so many Adirondack activities, from hiking trails, lakes to swim and boat, and kid friendly fun. There was something for everyone in our family, aged 5- adult. Our host put so much thought and attention to detail into our stay. We were welcomed and felt at home and so cozy. This home truly is healing and is a peaceful sanctuary! We can’t wait to come back and stay again!!

Karalyn, you and your BEAUTIFUL spirited Family brought sweet energy here to the Healing Woods.! Please do come again! All my best wishes to you, Andrew and the children.
This is a lovely home, beautifully equipped. The large screened porch was especially appreciated along with a spacious, bright laundry area. A ten minute walk through the woods leads to a beautiful view of Upper Saranac with sandy bottom swimming access perfect for our needs.
Joanne thought of everything to make our stay relaxing and fun. Her watercraft and equipment made exploring the lake easy; her kitchen was the best equipped kitchen we've ever been in; beds and linens lovely; garden and lawn a sheer delight, screened porch a perfect haven. We loved our week and could have easily stayed much longer! Thank you, Joanne.

Arriving at Joanne's cottage is like walking up to Hansel & Gretel's home in the woods. It was immaculate, quaint, completely adorable. There is nothing, and I mean NOTHING you will need in this extraordinary house! From the amazing toiletries to the library to the history of the home, it is a ONCE IN A LIFETIME experience! If you ever get the chance to walk away from reality, do it HERE!
