About this property

Cabin w/hot tub & fire pit w/covered porch

Summary:

Nestled in a quiet Luray woods, this cozy, secluded cabin offers a serene retreat surrounded by towering trees, just a short walk to the Shenandoah River and a short drive to Shenandoah Valley park highlights. Ideal for families and friends seeking a relaxed, nature‑filled stay.

Sleeps 4 | 2 bedrooms | 3 beds | 2 baths

Hot tub & fire pit for year‑round evenings outdoors

Large yard, covered front porch & grill patio for meals outside

Fireplace, smart TV & WiFi for cozy indoor evenings

The Space:

Morning light filters through the trees as steam rises from the hot tub, and the quiet of the woods settles around you. In winter the Shenandoah air feels crisp and clean, making evenings by the fire pit and the indoor fireplace especially inviting. You’ll hear the soft rustle of leaves and the distant call of birds while you unwind on the covered porch, feeling the pace of life slow to match the rhythm of the forest.

Sleeping arrangements

Two bedrooms provide flexible comfort for four guests. The master bedroom holds a king bed, while the second bedroom offers a queen bed and a twin bed, all dressed with fresh linens, extra pillows, and room‑darkening shades.

Bathrooms

Two full bathrooms feature bathtubs; one includes a spa tub that’s perfect for easing sore muscles after a day of hiking. Bathroom essentials are supplied and hot water is available throughout your stay.

Kitchen & dining

A fully stocked kitchen invites you to prepare home‑cooked meals or simple snacks. A dining table seats the whole group, creating a relaxed space for breakfast, dinner, or late‑night coffee.

Living space

The spacious living area centers on a fireplace that adds warmth to cooler evenings. A Smart TV and Wi‑Fi let you stream a movie or stay connected, while indoor games are ready for low‑key nights in.

Outdoor living

A large yard gives room to spread out, play games, or simply breathe the forest air. The year‑round hot tub beckons after a hike, and the fire pit offers a natural gathering spot for s’mores and stargazing. A covered front porch provides a sheltered view of the woods, and a patio with a grill adds another option for outdoor meals when the weather permits.

Location

You’re less than a mile from the Shenandoah River, where canoe, kayak, and tubing rentals await. Short drives bring you to Shenandoah National Park, Skyline Drive, Luray Caverns, and downtown Luray’s breweries, restaurants, and shops.

Good to know

The setting is nature‑forward; seasonal leaves and pollen may be present despite regular cleaning of decks and walkways. Wi‑Fi is provided but can be slower or spotty due to the remote location—downloading essential content in advance is recommended. Self‑check‑in is via lockbox, and free parking is available on the property. The cabin is family‑friendly and pet‑friendly for dogs; cats are not allowed because of allergies.

Perfect for

Families, small groups, and dog owners seeking a peaceful retreat where you can soak in a hot tub on a cold evening, explore nearby trails and caverns, or simply enjoy unhurried time together indoors.

Needs Some Maintenance

We enjoyed the area. I expected the upkeep to be a little better. The hot tub wasn't working, but it was pretty hot out when we were there, so not a big loss. Couldn't use the closet because open to the attic and made bedroom hard to cool. The bathrooms are next to each other and not near one bedroom, so having two isn't really adding value. Bathroom fan should be replaced with quiet unit. Loved having air conditioning, washer and dryer and fun games.
Broken down dresser
Tripping hazard -quick fix to replace a vinyl tile
Open to attic heat and ?

Wonderful House in Nature

We had a great time staying in the Nature Nook. We loved how close the house was to the Shenandoah River Rafting Adventures. Driving into Luray to explore the caverns and town didn’t take long. We received a text to make sure that everything in the house was satisfactory for our stay. The communication was so timely and helpful. Our kids enjoyed playing foosball, and we enjoyed sitting on the front porch listening to an afternoon thunderstorm. We enjoyed our stay.

Great stay!

Great stay! Great host - Tony and team were only a text away & fast at communicating! The location of the cabin is in a very quiet neighborhood that's an easy drive to the town of Luray. We brought our dog and he enjoyed our walks in the neighborhood and we took him to a few parks (lots of choices and variety). Things we loved about the cabin were the porch, the BBQ (missing in their cooking utensils - bring your own), the fire pit (buying logs is easy as many locations on the way to the cabin sell bundles), fully stocked kitchen to prepare your meals and eat out on the front porch, comfortable beds, nice showers. Didn't get around to using the hot tub, but it looked very nice and inviting. Our only complaint was that the cabin indicates that it has reliable WIFI and you can stream shows. This was not the case. The WIFI was very slow to non existent. So, if you are planning to work from the cabin or catch up on shows, this is not a good place to accomplish either. Although initially frustrated, we enjoyed being disconnected from outside distractions and instead connected with our family traveling with us playing games during our down time which the cabin has lots to offer. When we needed WIFI, to get some work done during the day, we found a café in town that had strong, reliable WIFI. If you want to watch shows - download them before you go. Other than this minor inconvenience, we had a fabulous stay and would stay again in the future.

I live in DC with my wife and three young kids. I love camping/hiking, drinking (and sometimes brewing) great beer and wine, exploring new restaurants and shops, and traveling all over.

What makes this property unique

We spent years searching for the perfect getaway, and wanted to be close enough to DC that we could do a day trip. We fell in love with the area – and this cabin in particular. We love how cute and cozy our cabin is, and all the fun outdoor activities we can enjoy year-round. :)
