This house was perfect for us. We stayed there for the national card show. The table was huge for us to be able to sort out cards out on. We really liked the living room/dining room. Bedrooms worked out nice for us. There were a lot of nice eateries close by. This house had exactly what we needed. They also had prompt responses if we had questions. Would highly recommend this house.

This is the first time a host has made me feel unwelcome and unsafe. She insisted that we send a copy of the government-issued photo ID for every adult staying in the house, with no care about possible identity theft. She acknowledged that the VRBO platform isn't great for that and told us to text a random number with those instead. She provided no information about the security of how she would store those copies or her retention policy. We didn't know about this requirement until after the place was booked and paid for, or I would have chosen a different place. She would not accept a reasonable substitute, like a list of the names of the people staying in the house, but insisted we had to send copies of our IDs. She refused to program the locks for us until she had copies, and I was worried all weekend that she would reprogram the locks and lock us out of the house because of her reaction to the information she did receive from us. While the house was adequate, this host's practices are dangerous to your safety, and I advise everyone to stay away.

Hopefully once-in-a-lifetime experience for any short term rentals
1. Hidden/unclear fees for "additional guests" though we never went over max amount of 10.
2. When first arrived at the house, both doors (outer door, and door access to the house) were wide open. Told host about this, she kept saying only the outer door was open.
3. One of us got locked in the only bathroom available at the house on the first night. Notified the host immediately. person had to climb out through a window. was told maintenance person was on their way. 2 hrs later, maintenance person got "lost" and gave us the option of finding another place to stay for a full refund at ~2am. After 10 hrs of no bathroom access, maintenance arrived and get the door open by the hinges. Got reimbursement around the amount of the "extra guest fees" that we got charged.
4. No hot water, Lisa (host) sends over the maintenance guy, the pilot light was out...he got lit the pilot light and we got hot water.
No pilot light to hot water heater explained rotten egg smell when we first arrived. Told host "since the pilot light was out, gas was most likely just leaking all over." She said our group could find a different place because she doesn't want unhappy guests. I said that this is just a fact. Seems like she doesn't care about our safety.
5. While we were out, host call the gas company to the house and expected us to be there with no prior communicat. Gas company turned off the gas, and we think she got someone to open the house for the gas company.
6. Door doesnt close in one bedroom

Sorry you had this experience. Additional guests need to always be on the reservation for our safety and yours.
Back door blew open in the wind, the back door to the home was locked and secure.
Hot water was fixed for you as soon as you reported it.
Things go wrong during a stay, as managers we are always on top of it and getting repair people as immediately.
