My husband and I went to Coeur d’Alene for our wedding anniversary. This was the best place we could have stayed, very cozy, close to town, and the best hosts. Will stay again
Very well appointed and cozy cottage in the beautiful city of couer d’alene. The Red Door Retreat was perfect for our stay and the communication with the owner from great from the start. Highly recommend!
We surprised my son and his bride with a two night stay for them during their wedding weekend. This was the perfect place for them to stay. They loved it!
Quaint and well appointed place with attention to detail in the furnishings. Perfect for a couple looking to get away. Convenient to the lake and shops. Came with bikes to explore. John was a great host and communicated well.

Our stay was very comfortable and remodel of the house was tastefully done. John & Karen added many extra touches that we normally do not see in VRBOs. This especially applied to the well equipped kitchen and bathroom.Great location which provided easy access to restaurants, shops, grocerry stores, biking and walking. We will definitely stay here again the next time we are in CDA. Thank you John & Karen for contributing to making our stay a positive one.

We loved this little gem of a home! It's close to downtown and the lake. The king bed was super comfortable with soft linens. The hosts seemed to really care about the experience as every detail was thought of! And, this was the cleanest vacation rental I have ever experienced.

Red Door Retreat
Excellent stay in Coeur D'Alene. Hosts thought of everything you might need, nice bed, linens, bath robes, black out eye masks for sleeping, two beach towels, totally stocked kitchen with every utensil, two cool beach cruising bikes, cool record player, etc. Host very quick to respond if you need to get in touch but they have a binder on the coffee table with any info you need about the house, Coeur d'Alene, shopping and places to eat. We appeciated the informative, at times humorous, editorial. GREAT!!!
We LOVED this little house and how close it was to downtown. The hosts thought of everything from the bathrobes to the bikes to get around town. We didn’t need anything for the house during our stay, communication with the hosts was great and they checked in on us multiple times during our stay to ensure we were satisfied, and everything we wanted to do was within walking or biking distance.

Karen and I thank you for your kind words. Thank you very much for selecting the Red Door Retreat while staying in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho! All the best & congratulations on your engagement!!
I was in town visiting my sons for the 4th of July weekend and this was the perfect location. I loved everything about the home. It’s very comfortable and clean and the kitchen had everything I needed to make meals. I was delighted to see they have a record player! There were only a few albums I was interested in, but it was so much fun, I’m now going to buy my own record player. I recommend bringing your favorite albums if you have them and I definitely recommend staying here.
Totally enjoyed staying at the Red Door Retreat. The house was impressively clean. The bed was very comfortable. Whoever did the interior design on the property is amazing. The owners provided some extra amenities that made the stay extra nice. We tooled around town on the bikes they provided, and fired up the record player as well. There were other amenities that were very nice as well! Totally enjoyed our stay.

Clean little house, great to have access to bikes, hosts were very quick to respond and accommodating. 15 minute easy walk to downtown. Only bummer is bathroom is on ground floor and bedroom is on top.

Peter,
Thank you for choosing Coeur d'Alene's Red Door Retreat for your recent stay. While we and most of our guests think that the recently remodeled 1915 Red Door Retreat in midtown Coeur d'Alene is both unique & special, we also realize it may not be for everyone.
While the photos and property description reflect that the one bath for this quaint 2 story home is on the first level, that arrangement may not be for everybody as well.
Additionally, when one selects a midtown Vrbo, most understand that it is positioned midtown, conveniently across the street from a Safeway, walking close to many coffee shops, Pilgrims Oganic Market, several eateries and maybe a dozen or so thrift stores.
In fact, in the very near future, a brand new Trader Joe's will be opening just a couple of blocks up from the Red Door Retreat on 3rd Street. We can't wait!!!
While the above noted conveniences are what make midtown Coeur d'Alene special & desirable, they may not be for everybody. In fact, its all of these unique offerings, combined with everything else that the rest of Coeur d'Alene has to offer that makes this great city.a World Wide Destination for so many every year.
With all that said, Coeur d'Alene's Vrbo offerings are as unique as the Red Door Retreat. If you desire something in a standard neighborhood, they have great Vrbo offerings there as well.
Peter, we wish you enjoyable and pleasant memorable travels wherever your heart takes you next!

The stay would have been perfect with one exception.
The house was very nice and clean and the property owner was very friendly. I would normally not mention this on this forum however it seems this is an issue that the owner is aware of and has chosen not to address. The dryer at the house sounds like a freight train and it's not comfortable inside the house when you need to do laundry. Since there was a single set of towels provided we wanted to dry out towels between uses and during our week stay we needed to do laundry. We discovered we had to leave the house to dry out laundry. This was a little frustrating and since the owner said they new about the issue and I was not aware of it prior to booking I felt it would be unfair not to mention it for the next people who would consider this location.
