Welcome to the Sunset Peninsula! This gated, multi-family compound is perfect for those traveling in larger groups with family and/or friends who want to share great memories while maintaining their privacy. This unique and private tropical oasis welcomes all guests with lush vegetation uniquely indigenous to our fragile ecosystem. The paved driveway adds appeal and functionality, making parking for all an easy convenience. Beyond the gate, you will notice a private half ramp where small boats, jet skis, or kayaks could be launched. Often referred to as the "cruise-ship shaped" house, this solidly built, all concrete home, offers a 3 bedroom/2 bath main house (2/1 up, 1/1 master quarters down), and a separate, recently renovated 2/2 ground level/ranch style apartment. For chefs who wish to indulge their guests, the property is equipped with 2 full kitchens and a small galley. The roof top deck imparts a great vantage point for our amazing sunsets, and levered pergolas provide a great backdrop for entertaining under the sun, moon, or stars. Upstairs, the wrap around deck overlooks the canal breaming with Florida Keys marine life including dolphins, manatees and countless fish. Downstairs, the poolside provides relaxing ambience with plenty of space to lounge, read a book, take a nap, or catch up with one another. Interested in fishing, boating and/or other water sports? No problem! The property boasts over 195 ft of water frontage with deep-water dockage and open water-views. At sunset, the underwater light show begins as Green Blob lights expose backyard marine fauna including 3-4 foot tarpons and sleepy mangrove snappers. Why drive to breakfast/lunch/dinner when you can boat there? Located 2 minutes away from both the Tavernier and Snake creeks, bay/ocean access to your favorite waterfront restaurant or to an intimate picnic on the water is quick and easy. Heading to the Sandbar for some fun? The Whale Harbor Channel Bridge is within a 5 minute boat ride. For guests launching larger boats, Harry Harris Park is close by and there is ample space to park your trailer and/or RV on the compound safe and sound. The miniature putting green is perfect for those days you feel like staying in and practicing, day or night. Kayaks, electric bikes, and fishing poles are available for our guests. The waterfront, heated/chilled saline pool showcases amazing sunset views and offers a perfect place to relax after a day of water play. If you want to give the sea legs a rest, there are plenty of restaurants, pubs, and shops nearby to satisfy all your senses. CVS, Winn Dixie/Aldi, ACE Hardware, the Tavernier Cinema, and Mariner's Hospital are a stone's throw away over the Tavernier Bridge. We were impressed the moment we arrived at the property. Beautiful grounds and an awesome pool. Carmen was very responsive to the few questions I had and even ordered a bait freezer for the property knowing we were going down to fish.
Can’t wait to go back!
My family and friends had a great stay at this piece of paradise!! Carmen and Minnie were amazing, making sure we had everything we needed and more. Loved the amazing sunset views while lounging in the pool in the evenings. Would definitely recommend.
The property was perfect for our group of three adult couples. We all had our own private space when we wanted it and plenty of room to be together as well. The views were spectacular. And we saw manatees, dolphins and shark in the canal. In fact, we even got to give fresh water to the manatee with the hose. We had a great month!
What a great home!Everyone had their own bedroom and bathroom Kitchen was wide open so we weren’t getting in each other’s way and what a view! The outdoor upstairs area was great for congregating in the morning sun. Plenty of dock space and saw several manatees. The pool was great and heated. Carmen was always a text or phone call away but we really didn’t have any issues. I would recommend 100%!
Truly an amazing property! The location couldn’t have been better! Peaceful and quiet, yet close enough to everything we wanted to see and do. Waking up to the view each morning was truly unforgettable, the sunsets spectacular and the outdoor space felt like our own little sanctuary. Very comfortable for our family of 8 and gave us ample room to enjoy our time together and to have our own space on this very large property! What really set this stay apart, though, was the host. She went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. She is warm, responsive, and incredibly thoughtful. Truly made us feel at home.

About the host
Hosted by Carmen
I was born and raised in South Florida and spent most of my summers frolicking in the Florida Keys. Our sunsets are spectacular and the locals are as laid back as it gets. Who wouldn’t be when you get to wake up every morning in paradise? Vacations are family time, and at the end of the day that’s what’s most important to me. I want to help create unforgettable memories that’ll stay with our guests and their loved ones forever.
Why they chose this property
It’s a private, residential neighborhood where people stop to say hello, look you in the eyes when they address you, and wave as you drive by. I love our neighborhood!
What makes this property unique
It’s a historic traditional Florida Keys compound with everything you need to enjoy your stay. There are only a handful of multi family multiplex properties remaining in the Keys allowing for families to be play together but maintain their individual privacy. The Village of Islamorada has prohibited short term vacation rentals under 28 days. We welcome all inquiries, and will consider every request on a one-by-one, individual basis. Our goal is to help you find your tropical oasis and start living on Island Time! Don’t hesitate to call or email directly for specific comments or requests.
