Beautiful lake front home completely furnished. Extra large wrap-around 30'X40' deck overlooking beautiful 600+ acre Mona Lake. Small beach area for kids to play on. Large deck includes gas grill, plenty of seating, beautiful flowers and foliage. Sidewalk out to boat dock and fire pit for evening smores. Canoe and kayaks. Modern kitchen with all appliances. Open floor plan with comfy seating in living & dining room with large screen TV with cable and wireless access. Washer/Dryer in laundry area. 4 air mattresses and complete bedding also included. Within minutes of Lakes Mall, Hoffmaster State Park with Dunes, Downtown Muskegon, Lake Express Ferry, Pere Marquette Beach/Lake Michigan, Party in the Park and Summer Celebration, Michigan Adventure etc. No smoking inside.

Amazing Cottage On The Water!

So pulling in the driveway there doesn't seem to be a whole lot going on but you have two choices you can go inside and be dazzled by a beautiful kitchen and living area or you can walk around the side and see an amazing view from the deck with loads of places to relax and enjoy. They give you everything from kitchen supplies (basically everything you need) to kayaks and paddle boats to enjoy the water. We had no complaints at all the owners have gone above and beyond to make sure you are taken care of.
I am writing this review because we are booking the cottage for next year and realized I forgot to do this. Farmington, MI

Great getaway

This home has ALL you need for the perfect, no stress, lake fun, MI beach fun, and time to just chill w your people. Lake MI is a quick drive to FABULOUS beaches, or sit and enjoy the activity, fishing on Mona Lake. Bedrooms, kitchen are all just right! Owner was very accommodating, responsiveness, and a pleasure to work with. Location is minutes from Meijer o Walmart.

Perfect place!

You must stay here! I stayed with my grandma, parents, two aunts and uncles. We loved it! Mark is very accommodating and helpful with any questions you have.

Vacation with Dogs

Our family stayed here for a wonderful week! This was the first time our dog's were able to go with us! It may be our last vacation with them and it was so enjoyable! The whole family absolutely enjoyed this property! The property manager was quick to respond to questions and the neighbors were a delight!! We would rent here again!!

Would Stay Again

Being lakefront was fantastic. There’s a very nice dock and plenty of water activities. We were short distance from grand Haven, which was our destination for a day and close to Holland, which was another day trip we had planned

The house was well equipped with everything we needed. The lake was lovely and calm for most of our stay. We enjoyed the large deck and used the kayaks for a leisurely paddle.We were surprised that the lake was actually in the city. It was surprisingly quiet for as close as we were to a major street. The traffic wasn't bad, but the roads were a bit confusing to navigate. We were there early in the week and found that some of the restaurants and shopping areas were closed on Monday and some even on Tuesday.A few areas of the home could have been cleaner.Overall we had a pleasant and relaxing time.

Mona Lake Shore

The Mona Lake House had an incredible outdoor setting. While the house is a bit dated and in need of some maintenance and cleaning (screen doors fell off tracks and screens were torn, utility/laundry room was dirty upon arrival, yard needed weeding) it was spacious and comfortable. Best part we were able to bring our dogs who had a blast.

Great family stay!

Had a very enjoyable stay with my family! It was nice to have essentially everything that was needed so that we didnt have to make trips to the store: beach towels, bath towels, kitchen supplies, kayaks and paddleboat, etc. Only comment is that it seemed like the house could use a good deep clean, like the vents and floors. Also, not sure if the water on the lake is usually more clear? We didnt swim because the water was very merky and had a pea soup look to it.

We traveled here with our 3 kids (16,13 and 8) and 2 small dogs. It was amazing! We loved being right on the lake and the house and property had everything that we needed! We were able to rent a pontoon for 3 days and dock it right on the dock at the house. From the lake, we were able to go to Lake Michigan and Muskegon Lake to explore. We traveled to Grand Haven and Muskegon multiple days. Each place has a great community vibe, with free live music, people playing Cornhole and other outdoor games, and spending time together. The Deck in Muskegon is a really cool place and a must go! We also loved learning about and exploring a real submarine.The pictures do not do this place justice. It is so comfortable and relaxing and we loved the open plan downstairs. We were able to cook, visit with the kids who were in the living room, all with a gorgeous view of the backyard and lake.

Beautiful location

We had a family of 7 and a small dog staying at property. The house had plenty of room for all of us and is well maintained. This property is has a beautiful view of the lake from inside the house & from the large deck. The house is well stocked with plenty of bath towels, beach towels, linens and kitchen appliances & tools. There are kayaks and a paddle boat to use along with life jackets. The owner is very friendly and easy to contact. We definitely recommend this properly.

Decent

House is decent. Some things were falling apart. Toilet kept having a flushing issue and snapped off a couple of times. Patio door handle came loose. Place was clean-ish. Coffew pot had old filter with old molding coffee in it so we didnt use it. Pots and pans were greasy, like they werent really washes well. So we had ro rewash before use. But! The deck is really nice and big with plenty of places to sit and hang out.Lake itself is made for boating. The little beachy spot ar the house isnt good for swimming. Water looks green and gross for swimming. I think it would have been cool to have a couple of outside games like bags or badminton. Wouls add appeal.Overall we had an awesome time while we were there. No doubt. Lake michigan beach is within 12 minutes of driving and there are some cool attractions not far. Grand Haven is 15 minutes away.Its worth it. The other stuff would be a nice to have.

Great cottage

The cottage was definitely well described on the site. The kitchen had plenty of dishes and pans for cooking and serving a large group. The dock was not in which was disappointing but we were early renters in June and that isn't always controlled by the cottage owners. They did warn us ahead of time. We would stay here again.

Very much enjoyed this cottage and the beautiful Lake Mona! The hosts were lovely and quickly responded to any questions we had. Such a bonus to have access to a paddle boat, a canoe, and two kayaks!

Great spot on Mona Lake

Location is ideal with beautiful views of Mona Lake, within a few minutes of shopping and restaurants, and within 15 minutes of the beautiful Lake Michigan beaches offered by Muskegon. Kids had a great time catching a variety of fish off the dock. Kayaks and ability to bring our family pet were bonuses. First time to the area, but had a great time and plan to be back.

Peaceful

Great location for a peaceful getaway! The fully stocked cottage was ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ and perfect for us to unwind from city life with our friends from Wisconsin 🧀🧀. Our doggo Baby K loved the beach and we got our friend in a canoe! 🛶 Warm cozy fires at night by the water. Thank you for sharing your space with us. Our experience was priceless. Hugs to the owners!

Perfect home for our stay

The Norton Shores Lakeshore House has been our home for two June’s now. The access to the lake, the ability to have pets and The friendly and very helpful neighbors make this place an awesome place to stay..The property also comes with additional amenities such as kayaks and a paddleboard and laundry facilities and more beach towels than you will ever need.

Relaxing, shady, breezy view of the lake.

We sat in the shade under the trees as the temperatures were in the 90's. The water had green algae at the beach and seaweed that wrapped around your ankles as you went deeper. We took a large raft out, but the current was so strong we struggled to get back to the dock. The 2 kayaks offered a nice view, but we could only go out in pairs. The paddleboat was crawling with maggots, so we didn't use it. Fleas and spiders were spotted in the house and the outside area needed to be dewebbed before use. Beautiful deck to watch sunrise and sunset, but needs to be resealed to prevent slivers.

Potential

Property and house have a lot of Potential but probably not there yet. Cleanliness was not great and the water at beach was rather dirty, probably more because of location than anything else. Had lots of fun playing games though.
