Apartment at Badass Holler: Unwind on a working farm
Unwind and enjoy the peace of staying on a working farm. This apartment is a newly renovated workshop at the end of our garage filled with the comfort of home and finished with vintage details from the original owners. You may visit with the farm's miniature livestock: goats and donkeys or wade in the creek or sit outside and look at the stars and listen to the night time noises.
We offer indoor parking for motorcycles. We also offer a 10% military discount and/or also offer a 10% discount for stays 3 nights or longer.
This little home away from home boasts two bedrooms (one upstairs and one downstairs ) as well as a large sitting area in open concept* and bathroom with tub/shower. For extra sleeping we have 2 twin rollaways and queen inflatable mattress. A dining table along with a mini-fridge/freezer, toaster oven, microwave, gas BBQ grill will allow you to prepare your own meals or heat up take-out as you wish. (Please note that there is not a kitchen not a kitchen sink.) A small selection of board games and reading materials are available. In addition, outdoor seating and a hand-made brick fire pit will help you enjoy the beautiful sunsets. *Please note that open concept in this apartment means that there are no bedroom doors and that the downstairs bedroom is open to the main living area. The bathroom does have a door. There is only a banister on one side of the stairs; the other side is open to the downstairs for about the bottom half of the staircase. Parents of young children or guests who have mobility issues should make a reservation with this in mind.
All of the rental is reserved for guests, as well as most of the yard. The owners' home is next door, so there are parts of the yard that are shared. Guests are welcome to take a walk to the pasture to see the livestock, but for safety reasons, are asked not to cross fences or doors without one of the owners. You are free to visit the livestock at the fence. Your unpaid guests are welcome to come visit at the rental, but our paid guests MUST check with us before taking them elsewhere on the farm.
We are happy to interact with guests as much or as little as you prefer and will ensure your privacy. We'd love to give you a hands-on experience on the farm and want your stay to be a fun adventure. We do want you to know, though that while they are not invasive, you might hear noises from coyotes at night, chickens and roosters, mooing cows, talking goats and donkeys.

It was wonderful! Marla was a great host. The apartment was spacious and clean. To see and pet the goats was a treat! Would definitely stay here again!
So relaxing. Home was spacious and clean. Fluffy towels and comfy beds and pillows. Our host, Marla, was gracious and kind. AND let's not forget the silly wonderful goats! Recommend highly.

I’m glad you were able to stay with us, and hope our schedules sync up again!
Check in was very easy, facilities were as described. do to the weather we did not get much of a chance to interact with the animals.Very private and very quiet.Prefect place to lay back or use as a base for looking around.
We stayed for one night as a quick getaway. It was a great location in the country. The unit was well furnished and no detail was overlooked. We had an enjoyable visit with the goats before we left. We would certainly go back. The host was welcoming and gracious.
What a special, fun rental experience! We were met at the door by the awesome owner, Marla, for a tour and orientation to the Bad Ass Holler farm. The goats were adorable and so friendly. We heard the coyotes howl one night and the hooting owl. So peaceful, what a beautiful setting.
My niece and I spent her birthday weekend exploring Hannibal for a couple days. This was a great place to spend the weekend and enjoy some country time when not in the city. Although it rained all day Friday, and the goats must not of liked the rain either, we finally met them outside our door Saturday morning. They were very friendly, and wanted some people petting, which was fun & cute. Because of the rain & wet ground, we didnt venture down to meet the donkeys. The apartment was nice & roomy and was perfect for the two of us. Thank you for having us at Bad Ass Holler!
This was a wonderful place to stay. The rental was decorated really nice. It had an open floor plan which we found to be great. There were all kinds off coffee, tea, and hot chocolate pods as well as a full coffeemaker. Most places only have coffee, so since I don't drink coffee, it was a treat to have the tea and hot chocolate as well. The bed was comfortable. The temperature was great and easy to control. There were board games and some reading material - we played dominos one night. There was a big TV with streaming services. The owner was extremely friendly and helpful. She took us on a tour of the farm so we could see the donkeys, goats, and cows. She was very easy to contact and responded to any questions right away. It was pretty close to Hannibal, and we went into town and went on a dinner cruise, saw a Mark Twain play, and hung out in the ice cream parlor. It was very relaxing here. We absolutely loved it and would come back again.

Thank you so much! I’m glad you were comfortable and had time to relax!! Come back again.
My grandfather bought this farm in 1943, and I’m blessed to live here. We’ve added a second home, changed to hay production and miniature livestock. We love sharing the farm!
