Relax at The Cottage, a private getaway situated on the Knollwood Manor estate next to the 15th Fairway of Mid Pines Golf Course. This quaint and cozy cottage is stocked with all of the necessities and conveniences to relax in The Pines and is situated at the ideal location for easy access to all local attractions.
King bedroom and on-suite full bathroom, full kitchen, living room and small dining area, washer, dryer, separate half bathroom, and various other unique features and amenities. Also included is a futon and chaise couch to sleep 4 people if needed.
Security and Safety measures are in place, to include deadbolt locks, CO and smoke alarms, outdoor lighting, fire extinguisher, first aid kit, and outdoor security cameras to monitor entrance, driveway and parking areas.

The Cottage @ Knollwood Manor is absolutely incredible. We only stayed one night but it was perfect. The place is so nice, quiet and adorable. You will not be disappointed if you book this place for one night or a month. It has everything you need and could not be a more perfect place.

Perfect hidden yet central spot in Southern Pines / Pinehurst

This is a wonderful cottage nestled in the beautiful pines, yet perfectly situated in the heart of Southern Pines/Pinehurst. Lots of loving decor touches and perfectly outfitted -- multiple coffee makers, dinnerware, etc. Hope to return soon!

Totally charming!

‘Wrestling with Donald Ross for 3 days!!’

The attention to quality and detail were perfect for our taste. Getting to and from Pinehurst and Southern Pines was perfect and we felt secluded and quiet for our restful evenings. Highly recommend this location and cottage…very pleased with it on many fronts

Hi Kimberly - I am sorry you were not fully satisfied, it is very rare we get anything but positive feedback, so I appreciate the notes. However, the HVAC functions very well and has no issues. We checked the thermostat history - looks like you only had the heat turned on for a little over 1hr over the 3 days you stayed. Would have been more than happy to help you turn it on if you were having issues figuring out the thermostat and had reached out to me. Given the size of the cottage and the usual guest count, while we have included almost every amenity we possibly could, we can not unfortunately reasonably fit a dishwasher as well, though we have provided a dish washing station. Likewise, had you mentioned wanting more outdoor seating or bed pillows (which there are 4 king size pillows on the bed that are less than 1 year old, plus 2 extra spare pillows in the closet), I would have gladly accommodated you and brought some over (we are not a big corporate hotel, and I like to personally take care of all my guests the best I can). Thank you for staying.

Very well equipped kitchen. The laundry facilities were much appreciated. The living room is comfortable as was the bed. Nice linens. No outdoor place to sit and relax but that was ok as we were there to see the area. The April flowers on the property were stunning.

Overall, our stay was good. The host was great with communications and the cottage adorable. The issue we ran into was the bed comfort. Neither my husband or I slept much (I slept on the living room couch), so would not stay again. That may not be as much of an issue with other guests, but it was with us. Pay attention to the directions given by the host, because the cottage is a bit difficult to find on your own.

Thanks for staying Cathy. Its actually one of my personal favorite beds I have slept in and most all seem to enjoy it, but unfortunately there is not a perfect one-size-fit-all for beds, so I tried to choose something that would accommodate the broadest group of people.

Location, Ambiance and History

We travel to the sandhills a few times a year for golf. There’s something nice about being connected to what has come before. Called the “cradle of golf, it was home to the famous course designer, Donald Ross. This cottage has a historical link to golf and golfers who came to the area. It is updated and well appointed. It is situated among long needle pines and the fragrance they emit. Of many “vrbo’s” we’ve used in the area, we like this one best. Can’t wait to come back.
