About this property
Bass Harbor Artist Retreat with Barn Studio in Acadia National Park
This newly remodeled, light-filled and airy getaway is located on a tidal inlet of Bass Harbor where the water comes in and out every day. It's a modern waterfront farmhouse featuring an open floor plan downstairs with a living area, spacious kitchen, dining area with door to the waterside deck, and powder room.
A spiral staircase will take you upstairs where there are two bedrooms - one with a king bed and one with a queen bed. Upstairs there are two bathrooms with showers and an office nook off the primary bedroom with incredible views of the harbor. The house also features a washer and dryer and a dozen skylights to let in the morning light.
The Barn Studio next to the house is a perfect place to write, read, practice yoga, or make art, and the fire pit next to the deck outside is an ideal spot to gather in the evenings.
The house is on a main road, right across from a stop on the Island Explorer bus route and a short drive to Southwest Harbor, Bass Harbor Lighthouse, Acadia trails, and Seawall. Enjoy the spectacular views of Bass Harbor and all of Acadia!

Very beautiful house and super clean. The street was a bit busy and it was tricky getting in and out with the traffic at times. The one shower was a bit tight and the initial wifi set up necessitated a 30 minute call with customer service.
But overall, it was a nice property and experience.
This sweet house is positioned at the edge of Marshall Brook, perfectly situated to watch the tide move in and out. We enjoyed watching and listening to the variety of bird life, kayaked with a seal playing hide and seek with us, and were thrilled to be so well situated to enjoy all that Acadia has to offer.
The house is spacious, clean, and even has an in-tune piano. There are plenty of fresh towels, bed and kitchen linens, and blankets available.
You'll need to bring everything you use to stock the kitchen as the cupboards are bare of cooking ingredients.
Beware: the house is right on the main road and is very noisy throughout the day and night. And, take care when pulling out of the drive -- a sign really needs to be posted that there's a hidden drive -- we were nearly hit several times by cars speeding around the curve.
Andrew, the owner, was extremely responsive and helpful to all of our needs and concerns before, during, and after our stay.
