Beautiful House

This property is amazing, super clean, gorgeous and well stocked. Especially if you are with a group of people and are cooking, Location is ok, across the street from a school and there is always a police presence. I would highly recommend staying in this house. The owners and the property manager were very helpful.

Family Time?

The photos and description of the property are misleading. Sleeps 12, hard no. There is one king bed so 2 people there, 2 queen beds so 4 people there, 2 twin beds so 2 people there, and we found an air mattress partway through our stay so another 2 people. So 10 max comfortably. The living room portion of the listing with a queen and twin is not true. The twin is a couch I could barely fit on laying laying flat on my back, I’m 5’3”, yes long enough to be comfortable but don’t plan on moving at all in your sleep if you are there. My shoulders took up the whole thing. There isn’t another couch now either. We found a stinky smell in the basement during our stay, a dirty cats liter pan hidden in a closet. We were shocked. A very large hornets nest outside, bigger than a basketball. And the BBQs were all chained together in the corner of the deck. The owner leaves a family heirloom car at the property as well and asks that just one vehicle park in the ‘garage’ area and the rest on the street. We managed to park both our vehicles in the garage area for safety of our things as the house is located next to a busy intersection and we also had a few close calls while loading and unloading items. Overall the house worked for our needs but we are flexible people but if we had a larger party for the price it should match the listing description. I reached out to VRBO customer service after our stay before leaving a review for guidance, they advised I leave an honest review.

We are deeply surprised and taken aback by this review. Our last communication with the guest during her stay she stated that she found our home "perfect for the trip" and made no mention of any of the claims mentioned above. It is important to note that the client never reached out to us or VRBO about any of her "concerns" until after her stay, during which she stated that everything was perfect. We strongly believe that this is an attempt to obtain a refund. We would like to address each point raised: 1. The guest booked the stay for 8 guests, while our home can accommodate up to 10 guests. If she had honestly booked for 12 guests, we would have informed her that we can only accommodate a maximum of 10. 2. Our listing clearly stated that there is only one private parking space available. The guest knowingly booked the property with this understanding. We had to urgently message her during her stay as she recklessly parked two cars inside our property, nearly causing damage. As a result of her actions we now only offer street parking with the fear of someone else also being so reckless. 3. The grills are locked up because grilling is not allowed, as stated in our house rules. Her attempt to use them demonstrates the intention to break another rule. 4. The guest never mentioned any smell in our basement. It is important to note that she inappropriately accessed our utility closet, which is off-limits to guests and contains personal items, including the cat's litter box which was clean. 5. There is no hornets' nest on our property, and it was not mentioned during her stay. 6. Regarding the mention of "close encounters," we are unsure of what this means as nothing happened during her stay. No one attempted to harm or disturb her or her guests. We are proud of our diverse and welcoming community, and it is unfortunate if the client does not appreciate the diversity and cultures present. All our communications with the client were professional and courteous and until her admissions we did not know the extent of her behavior which is why we initially gave her the benefit of the doubt when leaving her a review.

The neighborhood offers the perfect blend of urban living, just under 7 minutes from the U.S. Capitol and major monuments, and 8 minutes from Audi Field. A metro station is a 5-minute drive away, but public transport stops are just a 1-minute walk from our doorstep. Our street is less congested, providing ample street parking. We're also conveniently located 5 minutes from major highways connecting Washington DC, Virginia, and Maryland. Shops, restaurants, and a variety of activities are all within walking distance. The community is quiet and friendly, and although our home is situated in Washington DC, it boasts all the comforts and accommodations you'd expect in the suburbs.
