The Exclusive PRINCE MANSION with Panoramic TERRACE. Historical Center!
If you are looking for a unique and authentic experience of history, arts, culture and literature, here is where you want to be. It's like to live in a living museum with all the latest comforts of the XXI Century.
The historical apartment - on the second floor with private elevator - still fully furnished with the family's ancient furniture, is located in the the historic center, in the most ancient area of the town - Vergini district - and is part of a 16th century palace, still belonging to the same princely family who built it.
There lived, in the 18th century, the Great Saint, Alfonso de Liguori (August 1st on the calendar), Doctor of the Church and Founder of the Congregation of the Very Holy Redemptor, and in that area he started his apostolate.
The apartment, also served by a private elevator, is composed by 3 double-bedrooms (2king-size and 1 queen-size beds), dining room, 2 living rooms, 2 bathrooms, fully furnished kitchen and huge panoramic terrace (90 mq - 1,000 sf).
All bedrooms are served by 12,000 BTU A/C units.
Parking space inside the building upon request and for a little extra per-day.
The apartment is in an area very well linked to everywhere (2 subways, 5 bus-lines and taxi rank) and offers many touristic attractions (Greek Hipogea of 4th century B.C.; Sacrarium of Fontanelle; Saint Gaudioso and Saint Gennaro's Catacombs; and many aristocratic palaces and important churches).
In five minutes walk, you can reach Naples' Cathedral, with the priceless Saint Gennaro's treasure; and the National Museum of Archaeology, with the finest pieces of Pompei and the wonderful Farnese's Collection.
By appointment only, it's possible to visit the Prince's apartment, composed by several reception rooms, a huge ballroom with 18th century frescoes on the ceiling and a splendid 18th century chandelier, a very important library with 16th - 17th - 18th century books, in which rooms the princely family regularly organizes cultural events as concerts, theater exhibitions and debates.
On these occasions, and especially by night, some ghosts belonging to the family have appeared and seemed to enjoy very much to be in company. :-)
Furthermore, our Palace and its various apartments, including this one, have been a film set for important films and TV series, including, just to mention a few: - "M son of the century" by Joe Wright (2022) - "Mixed by Herry" by Sidney Sibilia (2022) - "Ripley - the series" by Steven Zaillian (2022) - "Nostalgia" by Mario Martone (2021) - "Sono solo fantasmi" by Christian de Sica (2021) - "I fratelli de Filippo" by Sergio Rubini (2020) - "Gomorrah - the series" by Stefano Sollima & Francesca Comencini (2020) - "The Jackal - the series" by Francesco Capaldo (2017)

The apartment is located within walking distance of all the major places to see. We enjoyed the National Museum, cappuccino at Poppella with croissants, pizza at Concettina Ai Tre Santi, and dinner at Osteria Gentile. The host was helpful with an overview and suggestions for our visit.
This is a true insight into the life of aristocracy of the past. Francesco is a charming host who welcomed us into his family home. We had breakfast and lunch on the large, sunlit terrace high above the hum of Neapolitan life. In the heart of historic Naples, there are excellent restaurants literally next door. Accommodation is spacious and secure accessed by your own private elevator.
Had a fantastic stay in a beautiful historic apartment. Paula was a wonderful host giving us good ideas of things to do in Naples and the local area. She made us very welcome. We would definitely recommend a visit.
What a lovely place to spend our long weekend in Naples. We kept imagining what life would have been like when this amazing place was built. Francesco and Paola were wonderful hosts and very accommodating to our needs. We all felt like true guests.
A wonderful apartment within the most incredible palace in the centre of the historic district. The hosts were so welcoming and responsive to any queries. We particularly enjoyed our tour of Donna Paola's home and learning about the history. The terrace overlooks the busy street but it is a peaceful haven for relaxing at the end of sightseeing. We walked everywhere and visited all of the amazing Caravaggio paintings but also loved the catacombs and Subterranean Napoli.
This is unique property for those who value history and a location that is a neighborhood, rather than bustling with tourists. The hosts have enumerated the history of the palace in their guide and graciously invited us to see the other parts of the palace. Please be sure to shut the heavy interior window closures at night because the street noise is often loud if you do not. It is not often one has the opportunity to stay in a palace where a Saint was born.

Incredible & very special place
It was like stepping back in time to stay in this beautiful apartment which is in part of what was a palace. It felt really special. Amazing to be shown around the rest of the palace too, by Paola. The location is really good - right in the best part of the historic centre and next to the most amazing pizza restaurant which our kids especially adored. Thank you Francesco & Paola!
What a lovely surprise awaited us as we stepped back in time. I wish we could have stayed much longer! From a tour of his mother’s palace…. To the Michelin rated below just below….i can’t say more. Hope to visit again!!
Classic, beautiful apartment like stepping into another age, unlike any other place that we stayed in beautiful and tasteful .. Step outside into old Naples and experience life and culture. Walking distance to many great restaurants and sites and easy transportation by subway or taxi to other places ……highly recommend a unique experience.. Host is outstanding and extremely helpful Including a book of all the local sites and recommendations for dining, etc.
Coming to Naples? You'll need at least a week as there is so much to see and experience in the city and close by.
Our lovely host Paola greeted us and gave us lots of ideas for itineraries. It was a privilege to be able to stay in her lovely historic home, and the apartment had everything we needed (though we choose to self cater slot).
Excellent pizzeria next door, 1 minute walk to a fantastic gelateria, 2 minutes to an outstanding patisserie and lots of bread/veg/fruit sellers out from 9am to 8pm daily.en route to the nearest station Cavour (approx. 8 minutes on foot).
Do stay with Paola, we loved the apartment...enjoy Naples!
A great opportunity to see how Naples really works, Sanita the area is bustling and real but the apartment and real life princess literally live alive it
Don’t go expecting some shiney 5 star apartment, it’s 600 years old and in places it shows
Do expect a warm welcome from a grand lady who loves her city and her neighbourhood
Francesco’s communications are great and this is a great way to immerse yourself in the city
The apartment is full of beautiful furniture and art. The owners are great and very communicative, the (history of )the palazzo is amazing.
It would be good for one couple to stay. We were staying with friends and to get to the toilet we had to walk through the other's bedroom, not ideal.
The location is central which is good to go anywhere, but it comes with a lot of trafic noise. One does get used to that a bit because it is so constant...
We came to Naples by car and it was great to be able to park the car on the terrain of the palazzo.
We loved our stay in the impressive Palazzo De Ligouro, and felt totally welcomed by the family. We were met by Francesco - who was in town while we were there, and later shown around by his mother Paola, who lives there full time. She was a fascinating lady who gave us a tour of the building and was very helpful in pointing us towards interesting things to see and do.
The apartment itself is a wing of a much larger Palazzo - very spacious for a couple, but would also suit a family. There is a small kitchen that is simple but sufficient to cook a decent meal, and a very large terrace which is great for eating, sun bathing, and people watching.
The building is right in the heart of the Sanita neighbourhood, which feels very Neapolitan - in the sense of it being noisy and chaotic - but also very safe and friendly. You get the sense that at one point it would have been completely off the map for tourists, but these days you see a few coming to visit the catacombs, and some of the churches in the area. We thought the Ipogeo dei Cristallini - a small Greek era underground mausoleum a short walk from the house - was particularly fascinating.
One other great feature of the house is that it sits literally on top of one of Napoli's best pizzerias.
Overall, thoroughly recommended! Though perhaps the area would be a bit noisy and energetic for some people who are looking for a more restful place to stay.

About the host
Hosted by Francesco
We are still the princely family who owns the family's building.
With 20 years of background in Public Relations and Consulting in New York City, we speak English, French, Spanish and German fluently.
Why they chose this property
David Gepner (Germany) Gianfrancesco's apartment is really as beautiful as it looks in the pictures. When we got to Napoli, we met up with his mother Paola, who gave us the key and showed us around. She is extremely friendly and helpful and provided us with invaluable assistance throughout of stay, making sure we got the most out of our trip, and Gianfrancesco was always available by phone, in case we had a problem. Our apartment, together with hers, occupies the entire third floor of a huge, family-owned, aristocratic building, right in the center of Napoli. The palace itself is very old, with very high ceilings (some frescoed) and huge windows. Our quarters were six rooms (including two bedrooms, kitchen and bathroom, which is accessed through one of the bedrooms) plus an enormous terrace which overlooks a marketplace district below, where seemingly all the locals went for their daily shopping. Needless to say, the food was sublime, with cheap quality groceries available in the shops on the street below and incredible restaurants scattered throughout the city. The city itself is extremely vibrant and full of history, and the surrounding countryside is some of the most gorgeous I've even seen (especially the Amalfi coast) . All in all we couldn't have asked for a better or more memorable experience, courtesy of Gianfrancesco and Paola. We will certainly be back!
Will Brag (S. Francisco - USA) This rental made our stay in Napoli outstanding. I have to admit we were a bit skeptical about visiting Napoli but Paola (our hostess) was as charming as lovely as anyone could be. She put us at ease immediately and continued to treat us as family. We were sad to say goodbye to Paola but I am sure we will see her again. Now we have a reason to visit Napoli. The apt itself was as charming as Paola, filled with antiques and art. The very large private terrace was a great place to relax after a day of visits. Honestly, we can't thank paola enough for her sweet kindness!
