We are a couple returning back to the cabins for a second time today. Absolutely beautiful space and the perfect getaway for a quiet and relaxing stay. Made great use of the hot tub and absolutely love getting to come back to one of our favorite places! I could not recommend this space enough and the host Wendi was so wonderful and quick to respond to any questions that we had!

Beautiful (and very quiet) location and the house was just right for a weekend getaway for two! The house is located a short walk away from some gorgeous scenery including a dam you can walk across for a great view and some hiking trails. Highest recommendation!

The property was gorgeous, the amenities were fantastic, from the free use of kayaks and paddleboards to the jacuzzi to the firepit in front of the cabin. cabin. It was very nice to be able to use the on site laundry and to have firewood provided. The kitchen is very nicely equipped and the cookware is very good quality. The bed was extremely comfortable. We loved our stay and will definitely visit again!!!

Felt a bit awkward. Cabins are clean, and at least comfortable inside. But the lake is a bit of a trek to use the kayaks/paddle boards. So be ready for a workout pushing them all the way there and back. I do feel the placement of the cabins to each other is bit awkward and does remove much of the privacy of the place. Also kind weird having a camera pointed at the entrance door super uncomfortable.

Hi Dan, I'm so sorry you didn't enjoy your stay! We designed the cabins so they all have private views, fire pits and grills and they face away from each other. All of this is pictured in our listing photos. Yes, we do use cameras on our property for security purposes. The lakes are a short walk around the corner which we mention in our listing as well. We provide carts to bring them down to the lakes if a guest has a vehicle that cannot fit them.

We were looking for a high quality tiny house cabin to escape to and that's exactly what we got here! The quiet isolation, the comfortable interior and the beautiful mountain-view location was great. The mountain views were enhanced as it was April and the leaves were not on the trees yet. The hot tub was immaculate and easy to operate. The cabin itself, particularly the interior, was pristine and adorable. It had a very functional layout and all the comforts of home. Note: this is on a dirt road so if you can't handle that, don't book it, but it was fine with us!

Wonderful stay at cabin 2

We enjoyed five days at this lovely modern cabin in Cavendish. We were delighted with the quiet wooded setting and the aesthetically pleasing cabin where everything from building materials to bedding were chosen with care and an eye for quality. We enjoyed the using the complimentary kayaks in Knapp Pond and using the hot tub and fire pit on cool evenings. Galleries and a farm museum in nearby Woodstock and a farmers’ market in Ludlow provided a few fun outings. Wendi provided a comprehensives booklet about the cabin and the surrounding area and answered any questions.we had promptly. We hope to come back for another stay.

Weekend Getaway

Super cool, new and quiet cabin in the mountains / woods. The hot tub was a super nice plus. Well appointed with everything you need. Wendi, the owner, was super helpful and responsive. The only negative I could possibly point out is there is not a lot of room to keep your clothes (closet/dresser) / suitcases. Only one hanging rod on the wall with 10 hangers. Still would definitely stay there again when in the area.

Love love LOVE this cabin!!! Super clean, very well maintained!!!!! Luxury for sure, and more appropriate for couples in our opinion. We've stayed here 3 times, and it's been a fabulous experience each time! The full kitchen is awesome to have, especially considering most restaurants aren't very close to this romantically remote cabin, so you wanna bring food with you for sure! (Shaws grocery right by Okemo is awesome!) The property, including the hot tub , is very well maintained! The modern/electric fireplace, Wi-fi speaker in the kitchen area, as well as cooking supplies in the FULL kitchen including but not limited to pots & pans, cooking utinsils, seasonings, tinfoil, cutting knives/cutting boards, Ziploc bags, and of course dishes and utensils, are those extra touches that make this a perfect "get away from it all" kind of spot, without leaving the creature comforts behind! There is wifi and Roku as well , so you can stream all your favorite entertainment apps , which is a great bonus! I would not recommend booking this place if you do not have all wheel or 4 wheel drive during Winter months, as part of the drive does require you to be on unpaved road and with the VT Winter weather , you may find yourself in a snowy situation!!!!

I arrived in Vermont in 2016 as a DIY creator, using my own spaces for home‑improvement projects and design work. Before long, my little rental side hustle blossomed into something bigger. I took the leap and built Sugar Maple Mountain Retreat: a trio of boutique cabins nestled deep in the woods, designed for comfort, creativity, and cozy Vermont living. Today, I’m proud to call VT home and to host guests year‑round in Ludlow and Cavendish.

What makes this property unique

Newly built cabins set deep in the woods with breathtaking year-round views from spacious and plentiful windows. In each of our cabins you'll find comfy cozy beds with down pillows and crips linens. Our kitchens are stocked with plenty of utensils, basic spices, paper and storage products.

Bring your outdoor toys! Enjoy four-season fun, only a short walk to Knapp Ponds our two local lakes where you can reserve one of our complimentary kayaks or paddle boards, go fishing or just sit and relax outdoors. Walk local trails or country roads on over 1200+ acres of preserved land, hop on the local trail to access VAST, bicycle and more - all without getting in your car!

Centrally located and only a short drive away to Okemo Mountain for skiing, fantastic local restaurants and shopping in Ludlow, Cavendish, Chester, Reading, Windsor, Woodstock and more!
