Really cute guest host with great accommodations, with the parking and ground-floor storage it was a perfect spot for my work group to relax at the end of our days in a quiet neighborhood, still extremely close to downtown. Host was helpful and in communication the whole time, helping us with some last minute extensions to our stay. Hope to visit again!
This is such a lovely property. It definitely feels like a new build, and the finish out is lovely. Some nice touches that I really appreciated were laundry sheets and first aid kit in the utility closet, as well as olive oil, flour, sugar, and salt and pepper in the kitchen. The Samsung appliance package is totally tricked out and fun to use. The hosts are lovely people. And the property is walking distance to Tennyson Street to the West, as well as Billy’s Inn and Safeway to the East.
Two things to keep in mind that may impact your stay, depending on the mobility of your party and the size of your vehicle…
- the guest house is above a garage and up along flight of stairs. It wasn’t a problem for me, but if I bring my mom on a future trip, I don’t think she could do it multiple times a day.
- the one parking spot for this propriety is a little tricky and very compact. It was a tight squeeze for my crossover suv. I’m not sure anything bigger could fit there. However, I think that’s the norm for this neighborhood and to be expected.
All in all, one of my favorite short term rentals to date. Highly recommend.

I am a Tennessean by birth and a Coloradoan by choice. I have degrees in Child Development and Early Childhood Education; and, am thrilled to say I still use them in my professional life. In my personal life, I love to cook for my family and friends, read fiction, and spend time outdoors. As a family, we enjoy camping and traveling. My goal is to see the rest of the world- or as much of it as possible.
Why they chose this property
We've been residents of the Highlands since 2009. We got married here, started a family here, and have purposefully made a life here. The walkability is 10/10 with numerous choices for locally-owned restaurants, nightlife, and family options within and surrounding the neighborhood.
What makes this property unique
While there are many options in the Highlands, The Haven is unique due to the walkability to both shopping districts: Tennyson Street and Highlands Square. In addition, we are located less than 5 minutes to I-70, meaning easy access to the airport (to the east) and the mountains (to the west).
In addition, we only use green cleaning products with zero waste. For example, the dish soap is in a bar form and is to be used with a dish cloth- meaning no plastic bottles or sponges filling up the landfills. We also use laundry strips and dryer balls, also eliminating waste in the landfills.
