Located on picturesque Hobbs Pond, Salisbury Camp includes a cottage and the Bunkhouse. The Bunkhouse is a bright, comfortable space where you will enjoy views of the lake and your own large private yard space while hearing the calls of the loons and taking in the natural setting. During your stay, you may spot birds, an otter, or even deer.
Just a short drive from the coastal village of Camden and two hours from Acadia National Park, Hope is the perfect spot for a peaceful getaway.
Salisbury Bunkhouse is a two-bedroom home located above a garage across the lane from the lake. When you arrive, you'll park outside and walk around the right side of the structure, where you will find a set of stairs leading up to a deck and the front door. Let yourself in with a personalized code (provided to you once you book).
The home has a generous combined kitchen and living room with counter stools, a dining table, streaming TV with Hulu and other available content, and a sofa that folds down into a double bed. Two separate bedrooms provide dedicated sleeping space.
Salisbury Bunkhouse is located on Loon Lane, a quiet private drive that runs along the lake. Guests can access the lake across the lane from the Bunkhouse - a canoe and two kayaks are available for use. The shore of the lake at this point is shallow, making it easy to wade or enter/exit a boat.
The home itself is surrounded by a large field with a fire pit that will be completely yours during your stay, and we've included a gas grill next to the Bunkhouse deck.
When you arrive, you'll park in the driveway in front of the garage bay doors. The garage is not accessible to guests, but it is not in use for vehicles so you won't need to worry about blocking in any cars. The space is completely yours!
Hope is located in a valley which makes cell reception difficult. We have included a land line telephone for use in the event of an emergency. We recommend activating wifi calling on your phone during your stay, which will allow you to easily make and receive calls while connected to the Bunkhouse wifi network.

Great house in a great location. We were greeted by loons calling when we arrived, and the proximity to the lake was a huge plus for us. It was a really quiet and peaceful spot, with great stars at night. Great hiking nearby. Close to Camden and Rockland and Rockport, and we loved the Hope General Store too.
We enjoyed the stay. A couple suggestions: extra bath towels (we had 1 per person), extra kitchen towels, new toaster. We also felt uncomfortable visiting the lake, because of the location to the cottage. We would basically be in their space.Great location and would stay here again.
The bunkhouse was a perfect accommodation for our family of 4, and there's a bunch of fun things to do at the pond to relax. We were initially a little nervous as there weren't many reviews on VRBO, but the property is also listed on another booking site with great reviews, and as indicated there many times, Jenny is an excellent host and the accommodations were clean, modern and comfortable. This area is a delightful part of Maine--an easy drive from Camden, Rockport, or Rockland--and we had great visiting all 3 towns, plus the cute little village of Hope itself. Highly recommended!
We could not have loved our trip more. The bunkhouse was nice and cozy for our family of four, and we spent most of our time enjoying the outdoor amenities. We took full advantage of the canoes and kayaks, grill, and fire pit, and I thoroughly enjoyed my morning tea on the deck listening to the birds. Camden was a lovely town to poke around, and we really enjoyed the hike up Bald Mountain ten minutes away. Jenny was lovely to work with, and quick to respond whenever I had questions. We can’t wait to come back!
