It was a quiet area, but I did not feel secure due to the close proximity of the neighbors. The house could use some extra TLC when cleaning it. The front porch was cluttered with a couple of jars of liquid (possible bug traps?), the dryer that resembles the one inside the house in the pictures as of 10/9/24, and a bowl full of cigarette butts. The kitchen table and drawer handles were sticky. There were several stink bugs in the house. The kitchen was well stocked with an assortment of dishes, but very disorganized. The furniture was dirty. The other dryer in the house was missing the START button. There was not an electric socket to plug the dryer in and no vent hose. There is an AC unit in the living room, but not in the bedroom. The host made a rude comment about my child when we stated that we were not going to stay at the house and requested a refund.

I honestly can't respond as far as this guests personal opinions are concerned. There is a couple things that I can say; This couple was dropped off here at the rental by their "son" who left them for almost 5 hours just wondering around. I always try to make an initial contact to let guests know I'm available. They said it was a really nice place and quiet. After the "son" came back nearly 5 hours later the guests all left. I soon got a message from VRBO stating the house was not appropriate for the guest. I depend on the income from the rental solely and I take a lot of pride being able to help make sure anyone who comes has everything they need and they are staying in a clean, comfortable, safe place. So of course after the guest had told me they were here to visit their son at WCU I couldn't help but wonder if they really left because the son took off in the family car instead of being with family. It's the only thing that makes sense, I heard them say they were happy, I offered any problems let me know, I'm not intimidating actually I'm 4'11" and 108 pounds. There's no reason to feel unsafe and the closest neighbor is 200 feet away. It's unnecessary to argue over a review, especially when everyone has a different idea of the perfect experience. I do promise you that I will be available for anything that comes up and you will find a clean comfortable safe place to be.
