There’s a moment - often within the first few minutes - when your shoulders drop. Your breathing slows. And you realize how tired you’ve been.
That moment is why we exist.
The Blackhouse brand was created as a response to modern life: the noise, the pace, the constant pull on your attention. Our homes are designed to help you slow down, reset, and reconnect.
Here, the goal isn’t escape - it’s restoration. A return to yourself.
May you find rest,
- Blackhouse

As you step into The Greywood, the world you arrived from begins to feel farther away. Your phone stays untouched a little longer. You take in the space, the warmth, the inviting furnishings. You notice the light, the stillness, the quiet presence of nature just beyond the windows.
And without trying, your body remembers how to rest.
Mornings unfold slowly. You enjoy a cup of coffee while feeling calm and restored. Your afternoons invite wandering - inside or out - without agenda. The evening settles in gently, making you forget what time it is. Sleep comes deeper than expected. Silence feels full rather than empty.
Throughout the home, you find subtle anchor points - places that seem to pull you into the present. A chair that faces the view. A window that holds the light just right. A space that invites you to sit, breathe, and stay a little longer than planned. These moments are intentional. They’re often what guests remember most.
Our hope is that your experience doesn’t end when you check out - that the rest you find here follows you home, shaping how you move through everyday life. A slower morning. A deeper breath. A quieter mind.
Your journey begins here - book your stay at The Greywood and give yourself the space to truly rest.

Enjoyed our 2 nights, clean, great location, the host was very informative. The fenced yard was a plus for the dogs, they/we enjoyed “the house with a dog park attached.” Would definitely stay here again!!
The house is in a nice neighborhood. It has a decent sized fenced in back yard which was great for my three toddlers. The rooms were very spacious. The theme of the house was very pleasant and we loved all the positive themed wall art. Overall, we plan on using this home each trip to Tallahassee.
We booked this home for a little over a week during our home renovation and it worked out perfectly. The home was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. The host went above and beyond—very responsive and happy to accommodate our last-minute extension. Would definitely stay again! Warm and restful spot. Great location.
We had a nice stay at the house. Ryan was a great host and very responsive to my messages. The place was very clean and I would definitely stay here again!
Lovely place to stay with all the amenities needed. Pet-friendly with a large fenced in back yard. Roku on the TV and games to play. Well located easy drive to campus and/or downtown.
The host was responsive and all information was delivered to me well in advance. The home was extremely clean and smelled extra fresh during my whole stay. The bed was very comfortable and all required bedding and extras were provided and available. The home is at the dead end of a cul-de-sac in a quiet neighborhood. The appliances were in great working order and parking was good for me. I have no complaints about the stay and would book it again.
It’s a charming place in a very quiet neighborhood. Location is convenient, just 5 minutes to super markets such as Publix and Fresh Market and restaurants. The house was clean, the big, totally fenced in backyard well maintained .
Had a great stay here as a base for moving my daughter in for the fall semester. The location was super quiet, and convenient to everything in Tallahassee. The house was very comfortable, well stocked and had everything we needed. In addition, Ryan was great to work with as the host. Communication was awesome and we had a truly no-issues stay. I’d stay here again, and highly recommend this house.
We have stayed at this property several times when visiting FSU. It is close enough to campus and very convenient to numerous restaurants. The house is very quaint and the neighborhood is quiet. On this last visit, Ryan was very accommodating to our schedule changes and was responsive to the chats.
From booking to check-in, everything was extremely painless. The accommodations were decently appointed and on a very quiet cul-de-sac and the home was spotless. The full kitchen was great (loved having the complimentary Nespresso), and the extremely natural and quiet surroundings made for a cozy place to unwind. With the proximity to Midtown and Kilearn, as well as the County and State Parks that I visited, I would definitely be interested in staying here again.
We stayed here because my husband got a job in Tallahasee from DC area. He has roommates so we rented with VRBO. The place was nice and it accepted dogs w/o a fee. That was a plus!!! We enjoyed every minute of it. Will definitely consider staying here again when I come back to visit my husband.
We were spending Christmas with our 90 yr old father, and bringing our dog along. Great accommodations with a fenced back yard - perfect for our pup to explore. We had everything that we needed for our stay. The mattress in the larger bedroom was FANTASTIC! We both slept better than we do at home. Thanks for a lovely holiday.
Buddy of mine said we needed a home base to recover from a sporting event in town, and somewhere for his two dogs. This place fit these critera perfectly. With all the stressors of the weekend, none of them were ever about the place we were staying.Quiet location, but everything we needed was 10 - 15 minutes away.Highly recommend!
Great location. Great price. Tidy but we did see a few baby roaches (but that's Florida) and there was a stain on the sheets, right at the head of the bed. That's the cleaning crew's fault, they shouldn't have used those sheets. Full disclosure, we did not alert owner because it wasn't that big of a deal.
