The forested Lake Norman State Park that surrounds you has the largest public swimming area on Lake Norman, The swimming area has changing rooms, lockers, showers, snack bar and life guards. The public swimming area is a 3 minute drive or a 45 minute hike from the home.
The Community Building is less than 2 miles from your home and can be rented for $198 per day. It will hold 150 standing people and 90 people seated. 90 folding chairs and 18 large rectangle tables are provided with the rental. The faciality has men and women bathrooms and a large furnished kitchen with a huge free standing ice maker. There is also private parking and a large stone fireplace. Alcohol can be served by getting a Special Activities Permit. The Community Building is ideal for weddings, family reunions and business meetings.

The park's quite hours are from 9:00 pm until 9:00 am. These quite hours are enforced by the park rangers.
Mountain bikes can be rented in Statesville which is 9 miles away.
Wine tours of the local vineyards are also available.
The owner, Jack Greene, was the former Western District Naturalist for 14 years and can lead free nature hikes for your group. He has also led nature tours to 17 countries, including 15 African safaris. Jack has been a naturalist on cruise ships on Alaska's Inside Passage and on the Columbia River. Other places he has led groups to are New Zealand, Newfoundland, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Thailand, Malaysia, France, England, Netherlands, Mexico and many others.
