It’s a beautiful lake front setting with a cove that provides great swimming, paddle boarding and kayaking without dealing with the boat traffic in the main lake area. Lots of privacy and lake front views. We had lots of space in the house to accommodate our group of 11.
I was a little disappointed with how lacking the kitchen was - several of the pots and pans had teflon flaking off and weren't usable. We also had to wash everything before we used it due to leftover food and grime.Otherwise the property is gorgeous and we'll for sure be back. We loved all the room we had to spread out. I do wish the gazebo was in better shape, but it's pretty to look at.
My family and I loved this property. Very spacious. Views of the lake are amazing. Communication with property manager was great, answered any questions we had right away. We will definitely book this property again in the future.
My family stayed here for a long weekend for my nephew’s 1st birthday. It was everything we wanted; very spacious, beautiful yard/view, and fun amenities like a basketball hoop, pool table, and boat. We rented the boat and it was great! The host Martha was very responsive and friendly. Highly recommend!
We had the whole crew from 4 different states, all gathered for the weekend. The house was perfect. But the location was even better! Such a great piece of Lake Norman! Thanks for your hospitality!
We had 13 in our group and this large house had room for everyone. It had everything we needed including kayaks for getting out on the lake. Good experience.
Couldn't have asked for a better location or host. We enjoyed entertaining our college kid and his friends, along with his younger siblings. Made for a perfect get together Thank you Martha!
This large house has great views of Lake Norman from many different rooms. The house was quiet and comfortable. It's also conveniently located to restaurants and grocery stores.
Great place. Well maitained and plenty of room for everyone. Parking was no issue. The place was very clean. The host was very responsive to any questions we had.
The property itself is just perfect. The home is relatively dated, as reflected in the photos, but by no means shabby or unkept. When a storm through a wrench in our boating plans, the host went the extra mile to ensure we were taken care of and had the weekend we'd been planning for.
Our church ladies group stayed here for our annual retreat. The property is great! Beautiful views, plenty of space, ample parking, and a well stocked kitchen. Easy checkin and checkout, and the property manager immediately texted back with an answer to my question. Thank you for a great stay!
My family had the great pleasure of staying at this property over the Columbus Day holiday weekend. The home is extremely spacious and very well appointed. Each couple had their own quarters but the common areas are large so you can still be together as a group without feeling crowded. The views are just spectacular and we enjoyed both sunrise and sunset each day. We would not hesitate to come back here again. Thank you so much!
This is our 2nd time staying at this property. We loved it just as much as the first time. Perfect for family gatherings. The private yard, water access and swimming cove are unbeatable, and will keep us coming back every year! Lots of water toys to enjoy too. The lot, house and open space inside provide endless fun!
We had 3 generations & 2 dogs with plenty of room. We spent everyday in the cove with the water toys. Marty & her Father were extremely helpful and pleasant to work with. I would definitely recommend this property for your summer vacation. We rented the pontoon boat, all enjoyed and the kids got to fish.

Why they chose this property
This house was originally owned by the lakes namesake and designer, Norman Cocke. He chose this property because he believed it to be one of the best on the lake. The house has been added onto and renovated throughout the years, but it still holds a lot of history. My family has owned it since 2000, and it has always been our get away vacation spot from WV. It has an abundance of land and fun to be had.
What makes this property unique
The property is located on a private drive at the end of a peninsula. All 3 properties (minus my detached garage apartment) are vacation rentals. This house, "The Point House" is the best of the bunch. It has a panoramic view of the lake and can entertain your immediate and extended family. The house comes with a private dock, cove, beach (depending on water levels), shoreline fire pit, propane grill, basketball hoop, and corn hole boards. Upon availability, I also rent out my pontoon boat, paddle boards, and kayaks. Since I live (sometimes) with my dog beside the property, we are dog friendly. My dog, Jager a 20 lb beagle mix, may say hi at some point so we feel it is only fair to allow you to bring your fur babies as well.
