We spent two nights at this lovely property. It was well equipped and quite comfortable. It's far enough out of town that it feels quiet and private. We will happily consider staying here again in the future.
Such a fabulous house, it was just the two of us and our dog but this would be perfect for two couples--one bedroom on each floor.Fabulous, well equipped kitchen, lots of dishes, cookware enough to prepare a wonderful seafood feast or Thanksgiving! Unfortunately, the weather was not in our favor except for one day so did not get to enjoy the fire pit. The deck facing the water was great for sunset watching—no sunrises due to weatherIf the opportunity arises would not hesitate to stay here again

Cute place with delicious restaurants nearby. Plus the sunrise on the water was beautiful! We went for the Oyster Festival. All in all a wonderful weekend away!
Very comfortable and delightful house! Furnishing and supplies were generous. Location was ideal. Host was always available to communicate. While pet friendly, there was no indication that pets had visited the house. Overall the house was clean; however, the outside of the second floor windows need attention.

Host did not relay Check in information until prompted. It was SUNDAY when we received info- Check in was TUESDAY of that week.
What a wonderful country beach house! This house is charming and cozy. I love the older furnishings - of high quality. This is not an ikea house! I loved having breakfast on the back, screened in porch. Cooking in this well stocked kitchen with a pleasure. Our host was quick with communications and everything was very easy for us. I highly recommend this house for a relaxing getaway!
Everything was very nice. The kitchen is located on the second floor and has everything one could need. There is plenty of room for having a big family dinner. The yard is quite large which our dogs appreciated. There is no fence around the yard but it wasn’t an issue for us. We would happily stay here again.
We had a wonderful stay at the guest house in Whitestone Virginia. The house was stocked with everything you could’ve possibly needed. The inside was better than the pictures. The host was abundantly, helpful, and communication was outstanding.
Received the doorcode a couple days in advance with description on how to use.owner checked in with us to make sure everything was good.Upstairs is a renovated 1890s schoolhouse!Well appointed house with comfy beds and ample communal spaces. Loved the combined kitched/dining room in the upstairs , with the outside seating balcony. Decor was fun and beachy. Nice screened porches both upstairs and down.Living room was very big and homey. Included wood stove ( we didn't use it, but wood was available)All amenities were provided and well maintained. We had many meals prepared there- even had a great choice of spices! We found the beach down the road at the windmill point marina- small but pretty, and fun clubhouse there with food and drinks!Close to some mall towns with fun shops and good food! Will definitely be back again!
The home was perfectly located for our needs close to the marina. We did not know that the kitchen was on the second floor which wasn't horrible, just inconvenient. No dishwasher. Well stocked with dishes, pots and pans but not particularly neat and organized. No pizza pan. No lights on the stovetop. No outside trash bin so no where to put doggy bags. Nicely furnished kind of shabby-chicBed upstairs was very hard. Could use a mattress topper. Very quiet neighborhood.
Michael’s place was perfect for our two week stay. House had everything we needed, including a charcoal grill. Location was terrific: two miles from a kayak put in (which we used several times during the stay with our own kayak), 2 miles from Windmill Marina (although it was undergoing a renovation during our stay, you could use the pool/beach/tiki bar for 10 per person per day); 5 miles to White Stone for some great restaurants and a wonderful bakery; 7 miles to Irvington for restaurants, the Tides Inn and golf; 8 miles to Kilmarnock for more restaurants and the Food Lion; and a 45 minute drive to Reedville to take the ferry to Tangier Island (highly recommend). We did have an issue one day with one of the AC Units cutting out, and I contacted Michael and he had it fixed within 6 hours. Other communication was promptly returned and with a great attitude. Highly recommend this property for a stay in a cute area of the Commonwealth.

Very charming historic home. When we arrived though, the porch had weeds growing inside the porch and the screen door was in need of some love. The day we arrived it was 90 degrees outside, and when we got upstairs in the bedroom, it felt every bit of the same temperature. The bathroom upstairs seems to be the source the temperature problem, but after a full night of the AC on, it finally cooled down. We kept the door shut to keep the hot air contained as best we could, but the bathroom door has slats in it so it will only do so much. The kitchen is upstairs, is spacious, and has everything needed for a great stay. The balcony upstairs is great for enjoying coffee on. From a cleanliness perspective, the house had multiple spider webs inside with spiders, and lots of cobwebs around the beds and corners. A good deep clean would be helpful for guests so that you feel comfortable in the space. Updating the insulation in the bathroom to help control heat / cold would also be a welcomed update. The vinyl siding on the bathroom ceiling did not do anything to help control the temperature. The owner checked in with us on Thursday morning, two days after check in, but never responded after I notified him of the heat issue. Outside is great for fires on cooler evenings, but the wood pile needs some attention as it is covered with tarps and just looks iffy. Good for a quick getaway but don’t be too surprised by some of the odds and ends if you choose this location.
