Beautiful and unique property on the San Marcos River. Great get away!
This site is one of the most beautiful and unique properties available for rent on the San Marcos River. The 550 ft of Frontage has a high bank for fishing and low bank for easy access. The land is a lush pecan bottom with an assortment of trees including a giant cottonwood. Approximately 3 acres that give my guest their own private park. Property is a nature lovers paradise. Abundant bird population, great for the dedicated bird watchers. Wildlife is always an adventure. Most magical is sitting on the deck under the stars and moon with a cool drink. The place to find the peace you are seeking. The screened in porch offers a perfect sitting for viewing the property. Cabin has a loft bedroom that is nicely decorated and very cozy. Plenty of space to stretch out. The river for swimming, floating, canoeing, kayaking and fishing. Our bank is in It’s natural state, for a true river experience. 2 Dogs are allowed, why should humans have all the fun.

We spent two days relaxing on this beautiful property. Linda was a great host. No complaints. We look forward to doing it again soon. The property is heavenly.
This was the perfect cabin for our small family of 3 to enjoy the river over a long weekend. A ton of shaded, open land right on the river to swim, float, fish, and relax. Our suburban city dogs welcomed the opportunity to race and run and our 2 yr old had the best time exploring nature! Highly recommend this cabin if you’re looking for a more secluded getaway right on the river.
Our stay this June was the fourth or fifth time at the property so that will say alot about how much we like the place. It's always clean, cool and comfortable. The river is always shady and quiet. If I could make one improvement, it would be to inprove the river access. We probably would have used the river more if there weren't so many rocks and tree branches. That won't stop me from giving it a 5 star overall rating. Thanks Linda and Roy!
Linda’s cabin on the river is a true oasis on the shores of the San Marcos river. From nightly visits from the millions of fireflies (seasonal treat) to serenades from countless birds, the place is full of natural wonders. On a short walk you can visit the horses and stroll the bridge over the river, and there is a great breakfast taco truck at the entrance of Martindale. This was my second visit to the cabin and I will be back as soon as I can! Thank you, Linda!
The cabin was spacious and well appointed. The screened porch and deck were relaxing with ample seating. The trees and river front were peaceful and private. We will return!

Great retreat on the river
This location is so fun and easy to get to. It was great enjoying the river and breezy nights out on the porch. Fun couples getaway or family spot.
We stayed for a long weekend on our anniversary. We brought kayaks, SUP’s and did some fishing. Place was very beautiful and peaceful, this part of river rarely had anyone on it. We enjoyed the peace and quite and would highly recommend this for a relaxing getaway
The cabin is quiet, secluded and a great place to unwind. Kayak river access was easy and the water was plenty deep and calm. We had a fantastic time and will definitely book it again.
Property was beautiful and river was so relaxing. My grandchildren visited us and loved it. Our dogs we're so entertained by the wildlife. My husband and I enjoyed being together in the country.

Serene nature and simple comforts.
This is a great couples get away to remove yourselves from the rest of the world. The beautiful river flowing by, the biggest Cottonwood tree I've ever seen and a great screened-in porch for hanging out all await you.
This cabin was just perfect. The property is absolutely beautiful, communication was so easy. My only regret is that we didn’t get to stay longer….would love to come back!!
Peaceful, serene waterfront on the San Marcos River
The weekend was spent relaxing in tubes in the beautiful San Marcos River. There were a few people in kayaks and canoes but not too many. The water was deep and great for swimming. We tied the tubes off to a tree and floated. The picnic table under the beautiful trees made for a perfect picnic on the water. The cabin was well stocked and clean. We truly enjoyed the stay!
Pics don't do this place justice! The cabin and property are beautiful. This place was a perfect home base for exploring nearby areas, but I would have been happy just sitting by the river or on the deck each day. The setting is peaceful and truly a nature lovers paradise. The host Linda is very kind and provided great communication. Would recommend this property to others and hope to stay again in the future. Thank you!

Surpassed our expectations
This was the perfect vacation spot for us! We wanted a place that was out in the country, right by the river where we could go fishing and tubing and bbq and where we could relax with the family outside of the crowd and that's exactly what we got! On top of that the owner is the kindest person and provided us with everything we needed and more! I will definitely be wanting to come back next year for another unforgettable weekend😀

Exactly as stated in description and MORE!
The cabin was really cute and everything we needed was provided. I loved having a full kitchen and washer/drier at my disposal, it made packing so much easier. The property is beautiful! Plenty of room for kids and pets to run free. The river access was great too! I would return in a heart beat.
My husband and I were looking for a quiet respite away from work and covid. We found this lovely place on the river for just that. The place was just perfect for the two of us. We went kayaking on the river which was amazing. We grilled out, stargazed and walked. Sunsets were gorgeous. I even handfed Linda's horses carrots from the farmer's market. We would definitely stay here again!
My wife and I invited another couple to come with us to this property for the fourth of july. The property is great being right on the water. The fully stocked kitchen was great for cooking breakfast and grilling. We will definitely be back. The only negative is the pullout couch mattress is old and less than 1 inch thick.

Our family vacation
My husband and I were looking for a place to take our son for a summer vacation we came upon this place when we arrived it was really awesome the cabin was neat and tidy with everything you needed and the view from the cabin was really nice down to the river we had a perfect swimming spot . We even saw turkeys and deer . Needless to say when our time was up it was hard to leave . Thank you for our awesome summer vacation . We will definitely be going back
Having stayed at the river cabin several times now I can say that it is consistently clean, well stocked, and comfortable unlike other properties that can be hit and miss. This time I even noticed several improvements, a new bbq grill, picnic tables, fresh paint on the outside. The grass was freshly mowed and a lot of tree trimming was done which made the place even more attractive. The owners were friendly and accommodating as usually. We'll be back!
This was our second time staying at the river cabin, and it did not disappoint! The cabin is comfortable and is fully stocked. The deck was great for stargazing, and the river.... well that’s the best part! This part of the river is very calm, with some deep spots that make it perfect for swimming, floating, and kayaking. We did all three! The yard is beautiful and shaded with plenty of room to roam. We enjoyed our stay very much and are already looking forward to coming back!
We had an awesome time at the cabin with our senior dog. Tons of space for him to enjoy frolicking around and rolling in the grass. We even got a raft and ventured down the river with him. (To note- our dog did struggle getting in and out of the water a bit due to the rocky nature of the shore, but he still thoroughly enjoyed getting to swim around) Saw tons of wildlife on our trip! I was even able to feed the horses some apples a few times and we enjoyed watching the cows come down to the river in the mornings. Fireflies were out every night while we enjoyed some stargazing. The window units kept it plenty cool even during the hot Memorial Day weekend. We had a great time!!

Beautiful and Quiet!
Where to begin....upon arrival we were greeted by three of the happiest, friendliest horses we have ever encountered. The River House was very clean and charming. Definitely enjoyed the cottage feel. We spent 4 days mountain biking, kite flying, fishing on the San Marcos River and visiting the local winery. (3 Dudes )
Oh yeah, I ALSO PROPOSED TO MY BEAUTIFUL GIRLFRIEND!!!! All and all we were very impressed with the private setting, the beauty and the charm of the area. On a side note, The owner Leslie helped make this a very memorable stay for us and even brought us down a very nice Pinot Noir to help us celebrate . ( my girlfriend said yes.... )
We will be returning often. :-)
