Guests will find plenty of space to relax and maybe see wild turkeys that frequent the yard (Cape May is a birder's paradise). There are 2-1/2 all-new bathrooms. The main one features an extra large shower with rain head and bench; plus there's a jetted bathtub for ultimate relaxation. Enjoy the matchless detail and quality throughout: special woodwork, spacious rooms, and fine furniture; plus amenities like WiFi, AC with individual temperature control in each bedroom, top-line appliances including an induction cooktop, and a spacious laundry room. We're Sue and John! We've lived in a riverside farmhouse we restored in upstate New York for more than 40 years, and for many of those years, we vacationed in Cape May. So when the time came for a new home, we sought out something a bit different, with peace and serenity, and fully modern but still with the charm of Cape May's best. We found it in this extraordinary place - a 1880's farmhouse on 3 wooded acres. It was a three year project, but it's turned out beautifully and we're sure you'll love it too. We're pleased to share this gem with you, especially if you value quality, quiet, and Cape May. Come stay here while we travel.

Why they chose this property

It was the large, 3-acre wooded lot with pond that sold us. Coming from a wide open farm, we sought the peace, quiet, and natural beauty that such space provides. Our house is convenient to all Cape May area has to offer (you can walk less than half a mile down our road to Cape May Winery, or about the same the other way to the grocery and other useful shops-although driving might be easier if carrying groceries!). Beaches on ocean and bay are all easy drives of under 3 miles, too. It's perfect.

What makes this property unique

We have been restoring houses for a very long time. This one was a unique challenge that's become a special prize. Starting with a modest 1880's farmhouse right by the road, we moved it back, spun it around, and added new rooms and all new features while retaining the vintage touches. Come enjoy the wide porch with swing and rockers, the high vaulted ceilings in all bedrooms, with exposed beams in many rooms and fine woodwork details throughout. At the same time, you'll find all the best modern features. Truly, it is the best of both worlds.
