About this property
New Guest Suite in Portland's Alberta Arts District - Hot Tub too!
Brand New in Portland's Alberta Arts District. This stylish basement unit sleeps 4. Featuring a custom mural and local art throughout. Steps away from Portland's hot dining scene, with over 50 bars, restaurants and food carts within walking distance. This newly renovated space has been thoughtfully appointed to make your stay both relaxing and memorable.
This light and airy space comes with high-speed internet, oversized windows, and blackout curtains to enhance your stay.
Fully fenced sunny side yard with 4-person jetted hot tub. Patio features solar lights, umbrella, towels, seating and smokeless firepit. This area is shared with other guests, message host to reserve your private soaks.
The main house above is occupied by a family of 4, plus Granny. We also have one indoor cat and two small dogs. We always endeavor to keep typical family noise to a reasonable level. We have equipped the lower unit with a white-noise machine, for light sleepers or anyone who appreciates an extra level of privacy.
This apartment is brand new. Featuring one bedroom with queen-sized Purple Mattress and luxury hotel linens. Sliding door for privacy. Large egress window and dedicated television. Blackout curtains and reading nook.
The living area features a Coddle sleeper sofa with chaise. Extra linens, blankets and pillows are stored inside the chaise. The sofa lifts and expands to create an additional queen bed. There is a second television, games, toys, and JBL blue-tooth speaker. Local art is featured throughout the property.
The unit is equipped with a mini-split and remote for heating and air conditioning. The oversized windows allow for maximum daylight while the blackout curtains ensure a restful sleep.
The kitchenette is stocked with countertop double cast iron burner, toaster oven, coffee maker, tea kettle, microwave, full sized refrigerator and filtered water dispenser. Coffee cups and wine glasses on open shelves with dinner and flatware housed in the cabinetry below. Cookware, cutting boards and utensils provided. Please note there isn't a sink in the kitchenette but guests have full access to the shared laundry room with deep basin sink.
The large bright bathroom has a walk in shower with glass door. Amenities include shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, soap, towels, bathmats and a hair dryer.
A shared laundry with deep basin sink, dish rack and supplies and washer/dryer are available for your convenience.
Enter by walking up the driveway and passing through the cedar gate with bnb sign. Private keypad entry is on your left. The illuminated stairway is motion activated. Just five stairs down to keyed basement apartment. The entrance and hallway are very well lit.
This property might not be easily accessible for those with mobility issues, due to the stairs.
Well mannered pets welcome. Please read the pet policy for house rules.

About the host
Hosted by Holly
We are Portland natives and have called the Alberta Arts District home for over 25 years. Walkability is 10 out of 10 and the restaurant scene is buzzing with new food cart pods and hand-crafted cocktails. We have enjoyed renovating our century home to include a new basement-level private guest suite. We look forward to sharing this unique setting with you.
Why they chose this property
The Alberta Arts District is a vibrant neighborhood filled with street art and murals. The street is famous for it's Last Thursday Art Walk and Street Fairs. Visit between May - Oct and the last Thursday of the month transforms the street for pedestrians only. Food trucks, vendors, retailers and galleries stay open late. Music fills the air and it's people watching at its finest.
What makes this property unique
A colorful hand-painted mural of the Columbia Gorge, Mount Hood and Crown Point greets you as you enter the property. The unit itself is filled with local art. The stairs are lit with motion sensors to illuminate your path.
The basement unit is outfitted with oversized windows to allow maximum light while blackout curtains ensure a restful stay. There is a shared laundry room with deep basin sink, washer/dryer and dish rack for guests who appreciate a family-type setting. We always endeavor to keep our typical family noise above, to a reasonable level. To that end, we have included a white noise machine in-unit for light sleepers, or anyone who appreciates added privacy.
The sunny side-yard is fenced and now features a new hot tub, solar string lights, smokeless fire-pit and seating. We have provided fluffy bath robes and towels. Just remember to pack your swimwear. This is a shared space however guests are encouraged to message the host to reserve time for private soaks.
On street parking available, public transportation located directly across the street.
