Great Stay Great Space Great Location -Pool in front of you and Beach behind you (figuratively) You can walk it (to pool & beach) but if you have kids or older or bigger people I would rent a golf cart- 2 story Huge Deck: Great for rainy days you can hang out under the deck or in the garage (The Fun NEVER Stops)I understand the bbq pit being chained but it may need to be longer (due to being immovable on rainy days)

Great stay!

This property was a blast! Next time we go, I will look into renting a golf cart to get to the beach, but it was wonderfully clean and well kept. I would highly recommend this property! The fenced in yard was perfect for our dogs.

Almost everything about this house was perfect for my family. It was even nicer than I expected, especially the bathrooms. The only reason I’m not giving it 5 stars is because when we first arrived, there were small black hairs and a stain on the top comforter in the primary bedroom. That made me question whether the bedding had been washed between guests or if the bed had simply been remade. There was also something on the upper deck that appeared to be dog poop, which is certainly possible since the house is pet-friendly, although we didn’t have any pets with us.Other than those cleanliness issues, everything else about the house was great. Check-in and check-out were incredibly easy, and I didn’t need to communicate with the property owners because the instructions were clear and the entire process was seamless. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay.

Thank you for allowing us to host your island stay, and we're glad overall your experience was a success! Yes, you are correct, this is a popular pet-friendly home and sometimes pup hair gets redistributed when air goes through the vents. We would have been more than happy to come over and replace any bedding had we known. Regardless, we apologize for any inconvenience. We take clean seriously! Again, we appreciate you staying with us, and we would love to host you again!

Great stay at Jamaica Beach!

We absolutely loved our stay at this property. The property was clean and welcoming. Everything was as shown in the listing. Comfortable beds, fenced yard for the pup, and thoughtful gestures from the management. It was nice to be out of the hustle and bustle yet still be close enough to Galveston Beach for the excitement. Definitely will stay here again. Jamaica Beach is beautiful and a great place to hang out on the beach, bike around or walk.

Property set up well for pets with fenced in yard.

We had a great beach weekend with our dogs. Curb appeal could improve and the ice maker was not working but it is a nice beach house.

Perfect for pups, love it! Glad the beach weekend worked out well for all! Appreciate the feedback. Perhaps the ice maker was accidentally left turned off, as we did turn all our ice makers off pre "Laura". Sorry about that.

Great service!

So easy to work with! I locked my phone in the house the second day we were there with the door code on it so we couldn’t get back in. Called the number from the website on my husband’s phone and she was able to confirm my registration info and send text the code to my husband’s number so we could get back in. Less than 7 minutes all was handled!

Tastefully decorated, relaxing, comfortable beds, great kitchen and deck space

I was pleasantly surprised by the floor plan on this home. We had 4 adults and 2 children ( 10 and 19). It made it easy for us to all sleep and still maintain privacy. 2 bedrooms with ample closet space, 2 bathrooms and a washer and dryer, plus the deck had a gate so our dogs could spend outdoor time with us. Bonus was under the deck shade space that we tied our dogs out and sat outside with them in the nice grass. The yard is well manicured and the house is nicely decorated. Everything you needed was provided. I must give the manager Drew a shout out too. We had a water leak on a Saturday morning. I texted him and he personally stayed with it (keeping us up to date on the fix with texts back) until the problem was resolved. Highly recommend this rental!!! I’m already trying to plan a trip to come back and stay here.

Thanks for taking the time to write such a kind and thoughtful review. We are delighted both the humans and pups in your group had such a fantastic time both inside and out! While we never like a thing like a water leak to happen during a stay, our goal is try to minimize any impact to your enjoyment. Drew was happy to help. And yes definitely, please come back! :)

6/10 Okay

Not that great

We had some issues with the property. There were cleanliness issues (dirty oven hood, etc..) as well as missing light bulbs and lamps that didn't work. Beds were small but still Comfortable. I had to run to the garage to grab a broom and stepped on a dying roach. Yuck. Toilets had a hard time and ran even when we jiggled the handles. I had a cold shower before I realized the hot and cold are backwards. The beach was across a major road and you need a car to drive or a golf cart. It wasn't a bad place but a bit small for me and my 3 kids and two dogs. I may not stay here again just based on that. Management was friendly.
Stayed 3 nights in Jun 2017
Response from VrboOwner on 1 Jul 2020
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We weren't aware of any issues with the lamps prior to your stay, but we have since replaced. Glad to hear you found the beds comfortable. As advertised, they are queens. We're not fans of roaches either. Therefore, given our coastal location (where they love to hang), all of our homes receive regular pest treatments thus the dying roach. Our plumber took care of the toilets as well, appreciate you bringing to our attention.

20th Anniversary Vacation

We had a wonderful stay at Jamaica Beach Gem! Because it was our 20th anniversary I wanted to upgrade to a house instead of a hotel/condo. I came across this place and thought it looked good. When we got there it was even better. The enclosed fence was a huge reason bc we brought our two pups with us. It was a game changer having an enclosed fence for them. Upon walking into the house…the decor was great, the house smelled and looked super clean and the air was running and felt great. It was all stocked very well with kitchen stuff, laundry and soaps for personal use. As the pups were running in the yard, we got ready for the beach and headed over just across the street. Super convenient! We grabbed some pizza at the Way West grill next door and day one was complete! The following days rotated between the local pool, different beaches, downtown Galveston and our anniversary dinner. The whole experience was super fun, relaxing and our kids enjoyed it too! We will be back!! Sandra
