Spring Bay Villa is a charming, contemporary-styled solace, tucked away in the amazing ocean-view setting of Ragged Point on Barbados' rugged south-east coast. On arrival, you are welcomed through its traditional porch entrance, into its classic coral stoned interiors and onto a private pool crowned with tropical garden views on the ground level and gorgeous ocean views on the upper terraces.

With once weekly housekeeper services included (and Optional Chef services available), the villa's luxury amenities and its peaceful setting come together to offer you the blissful, tropical retreat you are seeking.

This 1-bedroom haven is ideal for a couple on their honeymoon or for a quiet get-away. (Please enquire about rates for 2 bedroom occupancy). Wake up to an amazing sunrise best viewed from the villa's upper terrace where you can also top off your day with a rum cocktail on a sultry moon-lit night.

At Spring Bay Villa, you will enjoy weekly Housekeeper services, a Master suite with air conditioning, en-suite "spa-like" bathroom with Jacuzzi and walk-in closet. You can enjoy your meals on the pool terrace or at the airy dining room table adjacent to the inviting living room with a large flat-screen television.

Spring Bay Villa boasts a modern, well-equipped kitchen, a sun-deck with loungers and lovely views of Ragged Point Lighthouse and a Cocktail Balcony which offers up some of the best sunrise and moonlight views on the island.

When it comes to exploring the island, a rental car is strongly recommended as it will allow you to tour the island, spend the day at the amazing Bottom Bay beach and other gorgeous island beaches, pick up groceries, drive to Oistins for the its "not-to-be-missed" grilled fish and generally discover our beautiful island Barbados.

Spring Bay Villa is managed by Melba who has over 20 years' experience in the hospitality, event planning and catering industries. She will help you plan your stay on the island by organizing car rental, excursions, activities and restaurant dining if that is what you desire. If you prefer to do your own thing when the mood takes you, she is just as happy to provide all the recommendations and tips to help you enjoy Barbados your own way. There is also a Handbook that details all you need to know about the villa, the amenities and general information to make your stay an enjoyable one.

If you are celebrating a special occasion, or planning to create one such as getting married or hosting a special event, as an experienced event planner, Melba will be more than happy to assist you with all the arrangements. It could be as simple as a dinner for two prepared by the villa's cook or a local Chef or a lovely evening of wine and canapes shared among friends, we are here to help you celebrate life during your stay at Spring Bay Villa.

This property is simply awesome. It is spacious, clean, well equipped and conveniently located. We traveled throughout the island, and this was our sanctuary every morning and night. Everything worked perfectly within the villa and the pool. We will absolutely return.

Great stay

Spent 16 days at Spring Bay. We had a great time. Melba was very responsive. Very comfortable accommodations. Light house Bistro is a 2 minute walk right up the road but easy to miss. It’s a very quiet and peaceful neighborhood.

Really lovely property as described. Peaceful location, but not too far from everything with a car between 20-30 mins.We enjoyed the food at lighthouse bistro which is a 5 min walk away.Highly recommend if you don’t want to be in the tourist south or west.area.

Villa, location, pool, Barbados just beautiful! We rented a car and explored the Island. Villa was clean , needs a good dusting. Takes a very long time to get hot water for a shower. That was disappointing. Everything else was amazing with the property. Would recommend this villa to any couple looking for a place to stay in Barbados.

Amazing!

We stayed at the villa for three nights and loved every second of it! Melba was extremely responsive, kind and helpful. She accommodated us for early check-in and late check out if needed. I know that's not possible all the time but she was so accommodating for the stay. The location is so unique and it's just amazing to walk down to the lighthouse and look over the cliffs. Having your own pool and two rooftop decks was one of the highlights for us. This villa is so charming and we made several dinners here in the amazing kitchen, then sat outside to eat and go for a swim after. I would definitely stay here again.

A week on Barbados

We spent a very nice week there. Very quiet area, you can relax. A very good communication with the landlady. We had everything we needed in the house. A car is necessary. Of course, some things or pieces of furniture are a bit worn out, but this is due to the Caribbean climate. It was perfect for us.

Solo trip getaway

Melba was an amazing host and even helped my friends surprise me with birthday decorations! The place is very spacious and the kitchen is amazing. The only tiny critique is that the bedroom is the only part of the home with AC. There are spare fans in the home which helped cool down the living room, but it did get a bit warm at night. The AC in the bedroom was fully functioning however so sleeping in the room was enjoyable! Also, the home is a bit from the “city”, but I was always able to get a taxi via the information book found in the home or from the Pick Up app which is a ride share service.

Cozy and romantic

My new wife and I booked this home for our honeymoon, and we could not have picked a better place. A romantic and secluded getaway for us to relax and really take in the beauty of Barbados. The covered pool was refreshing and relaxing. The sundecks have a view of the ocean on both sides of the home. The highlight was the 2 minute walk to the lighthouse clif, waking up to watch the sunrise was a great way to start our day. Also, A short drive to cranes beach and restaurants. Highly, highly, HIGHLY recomend

Paradise in St. Philip!

Just returned from a wonderful vacation with my husband in Barbados. We rented the Spring Bay Villa for a week and we're so glad we did! Melba was so sweet to help me plan a surprise for my husband's 50th Birthday, by baking him a delicious chocolate cake and boy was he surprised! We lounged around Melba's beautiful home taking in the local beauty and beautiful people! You cannot beat the views and tranquility of this location and well appointed home. Villa Review

Melba is a great host and was very responsive to all our requests and concerns. She is very attentive and tried very hard to make our stay enjoyable. Our only complaint was the built-in main oven did not and had not worked for a while. This became problematic when the chef we hired attempted to prepare our dinner. There was a smaller oven also provided (presumably because of the broken built-in oven) and ultimately the chef was able to complete preparation.

The villa is situated in the parish of St Philip which is about 19km from Bridgetown. It is located in a beautiful and tranquil coastal setting maximising the enjoyment of the local culture and scenery. Due to its location - and as noted on the website - you may want to hire a car to get around the island. We used a local taxi for transport around the island but, in hind sight, a hire car would have allowed us greater access to visit more of the island. If eating out is a priority, there were no local restaurants open in the vicinity during our stay, so either taxi or a hire car would be required for eating out. However, the kitchen facilities within the villa were outstanding with everything you require on hand. There is a small mini-mart within walking distance to get the basics. Melba (villa manager/owner) met us on arrival and gave us a great tour of the villa to show all the facilities. Melba helped us to book some excursions and was always available to give us advice on places to go and expected transport costs (taxi fares). The villa itself is fantastic! The pool is great as are the front and rear balconies. The locals (and everyone we met!) were friendly and always happy to give you information about the island and show you places to go. We had a fantastic honeymoon and we would highly recommend this villa (and Melba!) for anyone looking for a more peaceful, tranquil, relaxing holiday away from the hub-bub of the more commercially tourist areas.

We had a long stay here and had a wonderful time. The property is clean and tidy. It has two rooftop terraces to enjoy the views and the perfect spot for sunworshippers. At the rear is a large pool which is divided by a wooden bridge spanning the width. Unfortunately, the bridge is set quite low over the surface of the water, and subsequently, you have to fully submerse yourself to swim under it. That is probably not an issue for some, but for us seniors, we were not comfortable in doing that. Sadly the bridge could not be moved. A couple of minor issues with the tv and the water pressure were dealt with promptly by the owner Melba, who was always quick to respond to any questions we had. We chose to spend a lot of time dining in. There is a large oven, but it does need some maintenance to operate it safely. A smaller oven is available, which proved to be adequate for our needs. The check in/out process was seamless.Despite a couple of negative points,we would definitely recommend a stay here.

Wir haben uns in das Haus und in Barbados verliebt. Das Haus ist so liebevoll eingerichtet und wir wurden sehr herzlich empfangen. Die Lage des Hauses hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Von den zwei wunderschönen Terrassen aus kann man den Sonnenaufgang sehen. Da wir sehr gerne selbst im Urlaub kochen ist uns die Küche besonders wichtig. Diese Küche bietet alles was man braucht, sie ist sehr geräumig und hervorragend ausgestattet. Das Schlafzimmer hat eine Klimaanlage die wir aber nur selten benutzen haben, da das Haus sehr gut gelüftet werden kann. Das Haus liegt auf der Ostseite der Insel dort weht immer ein angenehmer warmer Wind. Am Pool und auf der sehr großen überdachten Terrasse haben wir wunderbar Stunden verbracht Das Haus eignet sich am besten für Paare die Ruhe und Zeit gemeinsam verbringen möchten fernab vom Trubel der Stadt und den Hotels. Wir haben dieses Haus 4 Wochen genutzt und haben von dort aus unsere Ausflüge unternommen, zu wunderschönen einsamen Stränden, in schöne troische Gärten und zum George Washington Haus. Der Supermarkt ist mit dem Auto in nur 15 Minuten zu erreichen. Lieben Dank an Melba für die schöne Zeit sie war für uns eine große Hilfe und hat auf unsere Fragen immer sehr schnell geantwortet.

Ja und Nein

Die Hausbeschreibung passt nicht zu dem was wir vorgefnden haben. Es hieß - 24 Std. vor einer Neubelegung ist das Haus frei. Check in war 16 Uhr - als wir kamen, waren die Vorgänger Gäste gerade aus dem Haus. Die Reinigungskraft hat sich die größte Mühe gegeben, aber erst gegen 19 Uhr konnten wir die Zimmer belegen. Gebucht und bezahlt hatten wir 2 Schafzimmer - das bedurfte erst einer längeren Rückfrage, da die Besitzerin es nicht mehr wußte. Der angepriesene tropische Garten ist mit nicht mehr benötigten alten Mobiliar vollgestellt. Ein schreckliches Erwachen hatten wir, als wir den Pool benutzen wollten. Darüber geht eine Brücke (wofür - denn rundherum ist viel Platz( Dadurch ist Schwimmen im Pool überhaupt nicht möglich - die Brücke ist so tief, da stößt man mit dem Kopf an. Also Schwimmen ist Fehlanzeige. In der Einweisung hieß es schon, Waschmaschine funktioniert nicht immer - es hat geklappt - leider keine Möglichkeit, Waschpulver dazu im Haus zu erstehen. Wir hatten deutsche Waschtabs mit - ein Glück :-) Denn zwei Sätze Handtücher für eine Woche ist zu wenig bei diesen Temperaturen. Der Fön funktionierte nicht, nach Rücksprache und Erlaubnis haben wir in den verschlossenen Schränken einen Fön gefunden. Am dritten Tag versagte die Spülmaschine - alles musste per Hand gewaschen werden. Die Töpfe und Pfannen sehen optisch sehr gut aus - für einen Gasofen nicht zu gebrauchen. Die Griffe und Stiele werden kochend heißt und braten tut in diesen Geräten nix. Kein Restaurant

Amazing Villa

Really really beautiful Villa that felt very private and perfect for a couple. Clean, lots of plates/cookware to use, plenty of sitting and relaxing locations, and very responsive and nice owner. Short drive to pretty much anywhere on the island. Bedroom has A/C for a comfortable night’s sleep. Couldn’t have been happier with this rental!

Perfect for a romantic getaway!

Where to even begin?! Let’s start with Melba, who went WAY ABOVE and beyond. The communication with her was so helpful in advance and when we arrived. We were there to get married, just the two of us - no big wedding party. Melba helped coordinate with the local officials and a handful of vendors for things like flowers, etc. She really took on the role of “wedding coordinator” voluntarily, and only because she wanted to help make our wedding trip enjoyable. She made it so easy for us to get married there. This villa was exactly what we were looking for. The location was the perfect location for us to have lots of privacy, but an easy drive to surfing on the east coast and scuba on the west coast. We’d highly recommend doing the private chef for a special dinner. He did an amazing job! It was definitely worth it. The villa - it’s just as nice as the pictures. Sometimes it can be hit or miss with things like that, but not this time. It’s very spacious and comfortable. The pool area and rooftop really make this 1B/1B so much bigger. It was so nice to do morning and evening walks to the lighthouse. The views are breathtaking! I didn’t realize from the other reviews that the lighthouse and Ragged Point was such an easy walk. We would highly recommend staying at this villa!

Spring Bay Villa at Ragged Point

We have just enjoyed a very relaxing stay at Spring Bay Villa, everything was as described by Melba, excellant facilities with everything we needed, good locaation on the east coast close to beautiful Bottom Bay and Crane Beach, only thing we could fault was the swimming pool was rather cold at times as it is covered over and does not get heated by the sun. Would stay here again if we return to Barbados.

The host is absolutely fantastic! She made us feel so incredibly welcome. My boyfriend proposed during our stay, and she went out of her way to make the trip special. The villa is peaceful and away from all of the hustle and bustle of the tourist spots but easily accessible with a car. We thoroughly enjoyed learning about the culture and people. Her cooking is phenomenal. Accommodations are clean and the host is very organized. We will never forget our experience. Highly recommend.

My entire working life has been meeting and working with people from all over the world. I have worked as a Tour Representative for German, French and British Tour Operators and have met some wonderful people over the years. I later evolved into wedding and event planning, catering and cake baking and decorating.

Spring Bay Villa spent its first 5 years almost exclusively on the Homeaway rental market from 2008 to 2013 and ranked high with renter reviews. (Potential renters can request copies of these reviews since they are not on the Listing due to obvious datedness). It is back on the market now and I am happy to welcome you and all future tenants to your home away from home.

Why they chose this property

This beautiful villa came about as a result of a recurrent dream of the Lighthouse being seen from a lounge chair in a distance. Some time afterward, I saw an ad for land lots being sold near the Lighthouse and right there is where my dream started to take shape.

I was born and grew up in the East in St Philip so this part of Barbados is very dear to me. Spring Bay Villa is named after the small, secluded pink sand beach which sits below the cliff off the Ragged Point Lighthouse. (Unfortunately, the very limited access to Spring Bay is very dangerous).

Spring Bay Villa is truly a labour of love since I designed it and was intimately involved with its construction and interior design as well. I hope you will enjoy it as much as I do.
