The Shorewood Dog-Friendly Lake Retreat is a large older home with updated bathrooms and updated flooring downstairs. We were a party of 10 with dogs. Plenty of room. The outside had plenty of seating, a nice dock, and kids enjoyed fishing. The neighborhood is quiet with deer roaming the streets. Granite Shoals has businesses that rent boats and jet skis. So location was nice.

Great place - great location, land and water both. We spent 90% of the time out on the docks or in the water. More space than we needed for our small group but very comfortable. We appreciated many small but important items already being on hand - garbage bags, paper towels, kitchen gear etc (bring your own spices). Rooms were clean, our two dogs loved the yard (fully fenced). Will definitely think about it again for future trips.

Nice facility. Six adults had plenty of room with space to spare. Deck was great to view sunrise and sunset.

Two family get away

We were a group of two adults, five high school girls, a dog and a boat. The home has an excellent layout for large groups. The teenagers had the entire bottom floor to themselves, including the bunk room, second primary, two bathrooms, and a living room with a ping pong table. Check-in was seamless. We had no issues using the boat lift with our small ski boat. We also brought our paddle boards and the dock made it easy for us to hop on and go. The outdoor spaces are wonderful. All furnishings are nice and the home was beautifully decorated. The three bathrooms have been nicely updated. (The upstairs master bath could use a window treatment, as it faces the street and lacks privacy.). The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need for morning coffee, cooking, etc. The kitchen floor has some loose tiles and the upstairs carpet is worn, but those weren't major. The only downside to the home is that there is significant visible water damage/ rot. The large upstairs porch has clearly leaked through the ceiling of the first floor, showing visible rot. There was a patch job done on part of the porch, but there is an additional area where it is worn through. There is also significant water damage along the baseboards. It was clearly not remediated and accounts for a very strong moldy smell the minute you walk into the home. If the home were properly remediated, I would rent it again, as it is an excellent location and layout. As is, I would not rent it again.

Quick overnight stay

We made a quick trip to Lake LBJ for an event in the Granite Shoals neighborhood. We only stayed one night at the house but were very impressed with the cute property. We will hopefully come back in the future for a longer stay.

Great Lake stay

Had a day of rain but all enjoyed playing ping pong and the spacious game room. Bathrooms were stocked with all necessities as well as kitchen with cooking essentials. The one negative was the tiki bar outside. We would stay again.

4th of July Getaway

Our family had a great 4th of July weekend in your home. We enjoyed sitting on the screened in back porch drinking our coffee in the mornings. It's a nice, quiet cove and we liked that we could leave our boat out at night and jump in the next day. Thank you for a great weekend!

Great place for large groups

We had a great, albeit short stay at this property and it handled our group of ten with space to spare. We loved the various living areas and easy access to the water. There was a small water leak that showed up an hour or so after we arrived and Chereen was quick to respond, even on a Sunday. We'll definitely consider coming back for our next trip to the area!

Great location and layout, just needs some TLC

Great layout for families, location and the property management team was very responsive. Comfortable beds, towels and even had kid skis. The house is in need of some general maintenance especially for the price we paid… old grills, some of the furniture is worn out, sliding doors get stuck, boat lift gets stuck and needs to be either replaced or fixed. Overall, we had a blast at LBJ.

Great, the family loved it!

I suggest you include in your listing that you have a pack n play and baby seat. I didn't know that so we had to either bring those things with us or make arrangements to get them after we got there. Thank you.

Spacious and relaxing

Overall we had a fantastic experience. The house was beautiful, spacious and well-equipped, making our stay comfortable and enjoyable. There was a minor issue with one of the neighbor's dog who wandered onto the property several times which caused some tension, especially since we had our own dogs with us. It seems the dog could easily come over from the neighbor's dock. Despite this small setback, the stay was otherwise outstanding and I would recommend this property!
