Great family trip

Overall things were pretty great. The host was very responsive before and during the rental to answer questions. Would definitely stay there again.

The owners were very communicative and quick to address questions and concerns. The house itself has plenty of space for sleeping 12 and great play spaces for young children including a wonderful fenced in backyard and playroom! It is also 2 blocks from a playground and close to shopping. The house had a major maintenance issue before we arrived, and the owners informed us and gave us the option of backing out. That type of honesty is hard to find these days. Even given that, they really need a better cleaning crew and to perform home repairs. We arrived to find a top bunk bed covered with dog hair, Christmas decorations shoved into corners (we were there in May), doors not hung or not able to close, including the front screen door. Through the week we found dog hair under a couch and poorly washed kitchen utensils. Beware that this is a split-level home with steep stairs - important if you have guests with mobility issues. Given the cost, if they improve cleaning we would stay again.

Great stay.

This was a great place to bring our large dog for a short weekend to Chicago. They have a nice fenced in backyard with a tall fence. (We were struggling to find a place that would accept dogs over 20 lbs and this was perfect.) This house would be great for a large family to visit but with just two of us it still worked out well. Neighborhood is really nice and quiet and close to amenities. Just 5 min or so away is a beautiful park system that we took our dog to for a long hike/walk. The house does require the use of stairs inside, there is no way around that, but just a few. Everything was clean and I would definitely recommend.
