A Day in the Life at Sugar Beach

Start your morning with a barefoot stroll along the surf on Hawaii’s longest beach and feel the warm white sand between your toes. In the spring you will most likely see a humpback whale or two breaching offshore, and you’ll see Hawaiian sea turtles most anytime of the year. Finish your walk with a dip in the warm waters of Maalaea bay or swim in the heated saltwater pool at sugar beach resort. A soak in the hot tub might feel even better.

Enjoy breakfast while gazing at the ocean from your lanai or through the large window next to your dining table. The menu includes fresh apple bananas, papaya, and mangoes from the famous Kihei farmer’s market, just a short walk from your condo.

The day presents a palette of activities. Take a cruise out to watch whales jumping in the air or dolphins following your boat. Snorkel off Molokini island. Learn to surf. Go shopping in the old whaler town of Lahaina. Take a drive to the north shore, visit the retro-town of Paia and have lunch at the world-famous mama’s fish house. Or, if you’re really up for an experience, drive all the way to heavenly Hana and swim in the seven sacred pools. See the sunrise over the crater on Haleakala. Play one of Maui’s world class golf courses. Or what the heck, just kick back on the beach all day.

It is 6:00 pm and time for watching the sun set over the west Maui mountains which is conveniently viewed from your lanai. Only place to stay in Maui

We’ve stayed here before and love the location. Kitchen has everything you need. Beach items were available altho only 2 chairs and no umbrella. Lots of snorkel gear to choose from. No carpet so sweeping is a breeze. Sugar Beach is the only place to stay. Definitely stay here again next time.

This place was perfect in every way. I hadn’t stayed in this northern part of Kihei before and wasn’t sure what to expect, but ended up really liking it. It’s one of the very last condos , which means it’s a bit quieter (big plus) than more central locations, but still super close to everything. All the amenities were as described and everything was spotless and pristine. The real bonus was how easy the owner made the check in/out process. Our family had a wonderful stay and can’t wait to come back!

Wonderful vacation

This was our second rental in Maui and it was a great condo. It is located on the 3rd floor, with a balcony that overlooks the pool and ocean. The unit was clean, and as described, there were beach chairs, an umbrella, and beach towels that we took advantage of. If I had to complain about anything, it would have to be that it is a little noisy when people talk, or wheel their luggage since the bedroom in in the back. Other than that, it was wonderful!

"I first came to Hawaii in 1973 and fell immediately in love. I started a business on Oahu and later lived on Maui for 8 years. I retired 17 years ago and began traveling. I am now a full time world traveler but always return to the islands when I circle around to this part of the globe. This photo, taken in Alberobello, Italy, is me with my 3 loves--my 2 beautiful daughters and my '76 Westfalia Bus."

My beloved father, Roy, quoted above owned this condo and sadly passed away in August of 2021. He has entrusted me (April, one of his 2 beautiful daughters) to take over the management of this condo. I visited Maui many times as a young child, I can't even remember the first time I went. We moved there when I was 12. I have many fond memories of our family trips and our life living on the north shore.

Why they chose this property

Sugar Beach has the perfect location. You are close enough to all the great restaurants of Wailea, Maalaea, and Lahaina, close to the shopping center in Kahului with everything from Costco to Whole Foods. I don't even bother renting a car when I'm here. There is a bus stop just a short walk away which will get you most places on the island. And, it isn't bad living right on the beach.

What makes this property unique

I looked at dozens of condos before I walked into 312 and instantly knew it was the one for me. It was so bright and airy where others seemed cramped and dark. The side window looking out at the ocean was the killer and the fact that it has a larger bedroom than most of the other units was a big plus as well.
