Within the gates of Sugar Cove, is a very special ocean front and beach front group of townhomes. This small, intimate property offers only three vacation homes for short term rental (the other 15 homes remain empty until the owners are on island). It's the perfect north shore environment for couples or families that want nicer lodging in an ocean front setting. Be sure to reserve early to claim your space.

This spacious 2300 sf townhome has such fabulous views that it feels like indoor/outdoor living. The main level has a well equipped kitchen, dining area, and two separate living areas. All of this looks across the large lanai to the focal point, a perfect view of the ocean. A half bath and laundry room are conveniently located on this level.
Moving upstairs, you'll find three bedrooms, each with an ensuite bathroom. Two of the rooms have king beds, and look out to that fabulous view. The third bedroom has two twin beds and sits to the back side of the unit.

Sugar Cove has so many amenities:
Pool on grounds - Spent enough time on the beach? Hop into the pool on grounds or lounge next to it with a good book.

Tennis / pickleball on grounds - new court just completed in April 2024. Can be used as one tennis court, or two pickleball courts.

Great location - just over a mile down the beach from Paia town, or a few miles in the opposite direction to Kahului (grocery stores, business center).

Just a little off of the beaten path - it isn't in the middle of 'vacation central', but it wouldn't take you long to get there if you wanted to. Kihei is a quick trip across the valley of the island (8 miles).

Very small property.

Gorgeous grounds! The lawn is like a carpet, and the buildings are surrounded by tropical plants and trees.

Water sports galore! Launch access for windsurfing or kiting, fun for paddle boarding, and boogie boarding.

Gear storage - each unit has racks to store boards / sails.

Gated property to protect your security.

ON THE BEACH - not many north shore properties are really beachfront!

AND ANOTHER BEACH DOWN THE STREET - visiting with children? Pack the beach toys and take a five minute walk down Paani Place to Baby Beach.

Easy parking - there are two dedicated spaces for each unit.

We are delighted that you are considering this property for your vacation lodging. We are sure that you would enjoy this lovely vacation home.

This property has a vacation rental permit issued by the County of Maui, and is subject to the rules and restrictions imposed by the County for all short term rental homes. Please understand that we would be unable to accept a rental that does not agree to abide by these rules. Note: properties without a short term rental permit are subject to closure by the County.
1. Neighbors - Please be considerate of our neighbors. Noise carries easily to their homes, particularly in the evening. NO loud music, NO parties, NO amplified sound of any nature at any time. Many neighbors must be up early in the morning to go to work, and it's important that your use of this property does not impact them in any way.
2. Quiet Hours - Quiet time is from 9pm to 8am.
3. Use of the Property - Additional friends/family CANNOT be invited to the property and it cannot be used as a “meeting place”. The property can be used ONLY by the guests listed on the rental agreement. The County law allows us to accommodate a maximum of two guests x the number of bedrooms.
4. Parking - There is plenty of parking on the property. Vehicles CANNOT be parked on the street at any time. When vehicles are on the street, there is insufficient space for emergency vehicles, fire trucks, the trash truck or neighbors to get down the road.
5. Minimum of 1 guest must meet the minimum age requirement of 25.

At the time of booking, we'll forward the property rental agreement for review and acceptance. Additional information with respect to care and maintenance of the house will be included in the rental agreement. Payment is accepted by check, VISA or MC. For guests preferring to use VISA or MC, a 2% processing fee will be added.

The Perfect Spot

Everything about this stay was perfect. The place was spotless and well appointed. It felt like home from the moment we walked in. And as the saying goes, Location, Location, Location! Steps from a relatively private beach and minutes from Paia, for us, the most enjoyable little town on Maui.

This place is a gem. The house was perfect for us with two grannies and little kiddos. We were able to get lots of beach time, cook meals, hang out with friends, play tennis, watch turtles, surfers, etc. The staff were very responsive and helpful. We'll definitely be back.

Amazing!

The trip and the house were amazing! We loved SUP'ing right off the beach. We are kitesurfers but found the wind shadow was a bit tough off the beach, so we would drive the 5min down the road to Kanaha. No biggie. We also enjoyed turtle spotting at night along the beach:)

Extremely disappointed with experience & issue resolution

The property and condo are beautiful and we loved the location, however, the air conditioner did not work throughout our stay which caused a very disappointing & uncomfortable experience. I'd like to stress that we completely understand that many properties on the island do not have air conditioning and that energy is very expensive, but my family chose to spend more on this rental because of the location and amenities. We arrived on Saturday and immediately realized the air conditioner was not working. My husband called the phone number listed by Maui Vacation Properties on Sunday and left a message as instructed by the management company. We did not receive a response so he emailed them on Monday. They were not able to send anyone out to look at the unit until Wednesday and Thursday they left a box fan as a resolution to the extremely uncomfortable temperature in the unit. All 3 bedrooms are upstairs and were showing 80+ degrees. The room in the back (twin beds) was even warmer. My brother (40 yrs old) had to sleep on the couch downstairs. Again, we made it work, but this was not the experience we paid for. Maui Vacation Properties made it very clear there would be a fine issued if we broke any of the many rules set by their contract. We understand this was out of their control, but they should have offered a credit for the extreme inconvenience. I did reach out to ask, and it was declined. I would not recommend staying at a Maui Vacation Properties rental.

Our group of 3 adult couples stayed at this beautiful home for a week in January. The photos and description matched what we found and even exceeded our expectations. The layout of the house worked well and we enjoyed the large glass windows at the back of the house for the times when it was a little rainy or chilly. We saw so many turtles on the beach, especially at night and in the early morning. Before our stay, we were a little unsure about the location as it was close to the airport, but this ended up being a huge bonus for us. After a very delayed flight and a much later than anticipated arrival, the last thing we wanted to do was to drive across Maui in the dark to find our house. The relative nearness to the airport made for an easy drive the first night and we were able to be showered and in a comfortable, clean bed within an hour of landing. Our experience was that in January, the community was fairly empty and we hardly saw anyone else on the beach or around the grounds. Everything was very well maintained. The nearby town of Pa'ia had great restaurant options, a local grocery store & a large free public parking lot. We drove all over Maui and enjoyed this location as it was relatively central.The hosts were responsive and helpful with our small issues. We would happily stay here again!

Perfect quiet condo

We were so impressed with this property. The whole complex was beautiful, clean, well cared for, and quiet. The views from both master bedrooms and downstairs living area was amazing. The property managers were very friendly and quick to reply. We would love to stay here again!

Gorgeous property with awesome beach

We absolutely loved this place. Very well maintained property and grounds. Perfect location and an awesome beach. Sea turtles in the late afternoon and morning and kite sailors everyday. Great launching pad for anything you want to do on the island. The North Shore is the only way to go when visiting Maui. We’ll be back.

We had a great experience here at Sugar Cove. The house was very comfortable and beautiful to stay in. It was very clean, spacious, plenty of windows and fans for a breeze and of course the views were gorgeous. Loved how there were plenty of towels and other small necessities available. Definitely would love to stay here again if given the opportunity.

Awesome location

Our family of 6 had a great week at Sugar Cove. The beach was very nice for swimming and seeing turtles. We nearly had the whole beach to ourselves most days. The public beaches Baby & Baldwin were a short walk away. The house was perfect for us. Beds were comfortable , kitchen was well equipped. There was plenty of room for us to spread out

Amazing home, location!!

We just spent 8 nights at this BEAUTIFUL location. We were amazed how clean the complex was, it seemed like there were 10 full time staff picking up every leaf as it feel from a tree. The grass is literally like a golf course putting green, the best I have ever had for a location we were staying. The amazing beach was 50- ft from the unit, and had turtles each am and night for my 2 year old daughter to see. The home was stocked nicely and the kitchen was great to cook in. All 3 bedrooms had nice A/C which helped up sleep at night. I cannot say enough good things about this home. Cathy from the rental company was amazing as well, offered recommendations for food and anytime we needed help she was right there to help us. The pool was always empty and very clean, and ft from the unit. You will NOT be disappointed staying here.

Everything was absolutely gorgeous! Could not have asked for a better location. I don’t know how I’m going to go home without sleeping to the sounds of the waves crashing on the beach just feet away! Paradise!! Exceeds Expectations!!

This beautifully appointed and well maintained home was the perfect destination for our long awaited family holiday in Maui. We enjoyed whale watching from our spacious deck and were only a few steps away from our private sandy beach where we had multiple sightings of enormous sea turtles. Sugar Cove is a quiet, scenic and secure gated community that is meticulously landscaped and very well managed. Although we enjoyed visiting many attractions on the island during our stay choosing to stay at Sugar Cove was definitively the best part of our trip!! We can hardly wait to come back!!

We stayed here the very first time we visited Maui, six years later we found ourselves here again. So many things we like about this place it's difficult to list them all. The accommodations are large, clean and modern with just the right amount of aloha. This property is kept in immaculate shape inside and out. The grounds are detailed daily. The view is spectacular from the lanai and the quiet beach just steps away. We had absolutely no problems or issues with anything while staying here so there was no need to contact the owners/managers while we were there. Easy booking, easy check in, easy checkout. This place is perfect for us in all aspects. We will be back!

Magnificent and Refined Sugar Cove.

Fabulous, luxurious, safe, secure, and AMAZING location! The condo is immaculate and perfectly well equipped. The beach and frequent basking sea turtles are perfect. Great windsurfing launch from fabulous North Shore.

#4 Sugar Cove Condo

The condo was beautifully decorated, clean, and well stocked with supplies. The grounds were meticulous. The gated community was quiet. Can't say enough about the view. We absolutely loved the place and would return. Sorry, they don't have smaller units. The three bedrooms and three baths were perfect. We were two couples and my mother-in-law.

We'll be back!

It was amazing! We went to Maui the 9th time and the 5th to Sugar Cove! We love this special place so much! I call it my “otherlife-home” ! It’s a beautiful property, all units are so lovingly decorated, clean, big and all of them have that awesome view to the ocean! Everything you need (even kitchen or laundry equipment) is there! Waking up and the first that I see: sun, palms, blue sky and the sea! Just a few steps to the beach, it’s wonderful, especially for our windsurfing boys who can go from bed to board!! We’ve got three children, two of them already adult, all came with us, our future daughter in law also. If the waves are a little bit too rough we can swim in the clean, warm, nice and calm pool! Boogieboarding, paddling by canoe or stand up, walking to the near baby-beach and Baldwin beach, playing golf at so many gorgeous golf courses, or just relaxing in the sun, shopping food at mana or going out for dinner in Paia (fishmarket, flatbread, café des amis) or Haiku (colleens, nuka) are just a few other things we love so much! And of course we went for the sunrise to the haleakala! Everybody had a fantastic time. We are from Germany, half around the world and have one and a half day to go for this unique place, but every hour it takes is worth!! All of us are sure: we’ll be back!

The condo was very beautiful!

We really had a lovely time with our visit on Maui! The condo was very beautiful and we could not have had a higher quality condo and the location couldn't have suited us better. There really was not a negative with this condo. We were busy enjoying all that Maui has to offer, from The Plantation House for a wonderful peaceful breakfast, Hula Grill, Paia Fish House and of course our very favorite treat Mama's Fish House. Ride to Hana was of course a long drive but our hike to the waterfall, amazing. Seven pools....everyone enjoyed after the long hike. We do plan on returning sometime next year and will be sure to get in contact with you. Thank you so much for all your help!
