Clean, Cute, Quiet, Wonderful!

My husband and I stayed for a week while our kids were at Lake Ann for camp. This house was PERFECT for us and our dogs for the week. It looked exactly like the pictures when we arrived. The view of the river from the living room and the porch was wonderful! We had fires every night and enjoyed the stars. The hiking is so good in the area! We enjoyed the peace and quiet and are looking forward to renting here again next year. The owners were super nice and made sure we didn't need anything. Highly recommend it!

Very charming cabin by the river which had been remodeled. However, upon arrival, snow covered the walk paths and outdoor furniture. It would have been nice if someone had taken care of this detail. Cleanliness is an issue as pet fur is on most of the bedding and furniture. The pillows are absolutely horrible. They are stained and smell like dirty hair. The electric heat is a nice idea in theory, but not for Northern Michigan. The units struggled to keep the cabin warm. The wood burning stove would have been fantastic if we could have used it. Furthermore, I don’t know how this is advertised for up to six adults. There is one king bed and a pull out couch. This is four people maximum. The pull out couch is extremely uncomfortable. This needs to be remedied. All rooms lacked proper window coverings. At the end of our stay we washed all of the towels, and vacuumed and swept, leaving it immaculate. It was definitely cleaner than when we arrived. Overall this place has a lot of potential, however it appears as if the owners aren’t present to see to these details. Hired help rarely makes somewhere fantastic.

Perfect little piece of the planet!

Almost total privacy, on a beautiful river, removed just far enough from busy beach towns… Yet close enough to everything you want or need, just a short drive away! The cottage space/furnishings/amenities/layout were all very thoughtfully designed. They packed a lot of good, into a little space! They had pretty much everything you need for a simple vacation already at the cottage, and there was plenty of room for my daughter, niece (both 5), dog, husband and myself! When we weren’t visiting the Big Lake beaches, we spent our time hanging out down by the river, watching our dog swim in the river current for hours! It was so funny. Down & back down & back again! He would even protest, like a toddler, by standing in the middle of the river, not budging for anyone when told it was time to go inside. Lol. We made some incredible summer memories for our girls here, and can’t wait to come back and do it again soon!
