Welcome to Gate 21 at Estes Park

Whether you are couple wanting a spacious mountain retreat, a group of friends looking for a getaway, or multiple families vacationing together, Gate 21 has everything you are looking for to enjoy your next Rocky Mountain experience. Conveniently located three miles north of downtown Estes Park, this 2800 sq. ft. solar-powered home is quiet, private, and surrounded by acres of unobstructed views of the Rocky Mountains including Long's Peak, Lumpy Ridge, and the Estes Park Valley. Choose from five bedrooms with either queen or king beds. A fun "bunk room" includes two queen-over-queen bunk beds and its own TV.

The main level boasts a vaulted beamed ceiling, hardwood floors, and floor-to-ceiling windows that provide abundant natural light and magnificent views of the mountains, valley, and wildlife. The great room has two oversized leather couches, a fireplace, and 55" smart TV, making this area perfect for relaxing with family and friends.

The large open concept kitchen is fully equipped with stainless steel appliances including two beverage refrigerators and all the conveniences of your home kitchen, from baking, flipping pancake on the griddle, or making fresh ground coffee. A large peninsula countertop - with a 5-seat breakfast bar overlooking the dining area and great room - keeps everyone connected in an open gathering space.

Off the kitchen is a spacious private deck that extends the length of the house, with a gas grill and outdoor furniture for all to enjoy. A large south-facing flagstone patio with rockers and a gas fire pit is a perfect outdoor space for morning or evening sips.

The lower level family room is outfitted with a large plush sectional sofa, perfect for sinking in and enjoying snacks and a movie on the 70" smart TV. Two private bedrooms and a bathroom on this level make this living space complete.

Whether you are looking for outdoor adventures or a rejuvenating experience, this peaceful mountain getaway, with all the amenities and convenience of nearby Estes Park, Gate 21 is a must stay. This year-round destination is the perfect place to gather, rest, and experience the mountain life.

SOME MOUNTAIN-SPECIFIC NOTES ABOUT GATE 21:
SMOKING: There is no smoking or open fires allowed anywhere on the property at any time. The Rocky Mountains are at constant risk of wildfires. Any evidence of smoking in, on, or around the property or open outdoor fires at any time will result in the guest’s security deposit forfeited and loss of future access to our home.

CLIMATE CONTROL:
Each room comes with its own baseboard heater and touchscreen thermostat to customize the temperature to your comfort level. Bedrooms and the great room each have ceiling and portable fans for cooling. As with most mountain homes, we do not have central air conditioning.

WILDLIFE: We are located outside of town, where wildlife - from elk to field mice - roam freely. Some of those animals – including the small furry ones - may occasionally find their way to the house. While this has never been problematic for us and we have done our best to minimize this, please be aware it may still happen, especially in the late fall.

TRASH: Trash/Recycling is scheduled for removal by our cleaners after your departure, or weekly depending on your length of stay. There are four trash cans (two regular, two recycling) located in the garage. If you need these emptied during your stay, you can take them to the Waste Management transfer station in town.

PROPANE TANKS: There are four propane tanks on the property for use with the grill or patio fire pit. We do our best to keep them filled, but on occasion you may need to refill or trade them in. This can be done at sites around town.

WELL WATER: This home is supplied by well water. While it is clean and safe to drink, there may be some mineral stains or discoloration even though areas are thoroughly cleaned.

SEPTIC TANK: We have a septic tank on the property. This means that the only materials allowed to be flushed are human waste and septic-safe toilet paper. Any septic-related services required during your stay will be deducted from your security deposit.
