Odyssey of the Mind

This was the perfect stay. Our kids all said their time exploring the property and playing inside and outside of the house together was one of the best of their lives! Thank you so much for sharing this amazing home with us.

Great property!

The main house and the game room were nicer than the pictures! The house and the property were awesome. The perfect place to stay when going fishing on Lake Erie. I would recommend this place to anyone!

Outstanding cousins weekend away!

Beautiful place to get away and relax. Coming down the driveway with all the trees turning was breathtaking. Brian was so helpful and very accommodating . This was our first visit here and would recommend it to anyone looking for some down time. Lots of nice wineries and places to eat. We will plan a trip here again for sure.

Impressive!!

I attended a silent meditation retreat here this past weekend. The main house was absolutely perfect for the event. The privacy of the location, the beauty of the grounds, (which are very well maintained, I might add!), and the quality of the accomodations will ensure my return.

A Great First Experience on HomeAway

The owners were fantastic -- great communication during the booking process, and they maintain the property beautifully. It was even better than we expected from the description. We had five adults and two children in the main house -- plenty of space inside and out. I would recommend this as a very quiet, very comfortable property.

Family reunion

Unique place. Truly a rustic retreat. Great for families or friends to spend time together yet allows privacy if you are renting more than one unit on the property. We enjoyed our stay. On the negative side: microfiber sheets (wish they were cotton) and the fact that we had to bring toilet paper. Now that TP shortages are behind us, I hope that can be amended.

Getaway with friends

This was our groups 5th stay at Rustic Rivers Retreats and as always we were not disappointed, in spite of the rain. We rent the Main House and Game Cabin. Very clean and well maintained with all kinds of game activities provided including fire pits to enjoy an evening fire. You are 1/4 mile back in the woods for a private getaway on 28 acres. Near the middle of wine country and many covered bridges to see. This is the perfect place to enjoy a family

Nice home, close to wineries

Very nice and spacious house. Rustic feel and really disconnects you from your phone and tv. If you take a taxi from the house to the strip it's $50 one way. We took the barrels and bridges tour which was amazing. The house is close to many of the wineries. With the name "retreats" if gives an impression you are there with a group and we did have Jehovas Witnesses knocking on our door Saturday morning.

Girls Wine Weekend Getaway

Would absolutely recommend this place! First time staying here and already talking about coming back. We rented both the main house and the game room and there was so much room! The houses are very clean and stocked. You basically have to show up With clothes and food...there were even qtips in the bathroom! Very quiet and secluded and just absolutely beautiful and Jennifer was so nice to deal with. We ordered pizza for our large group Friday night from Capps pizza about ten minutes away and they even deliver...40-cut pizza and it was delicious! We set up a wine tour for Saturday through Barrels and Bridges Tours and Nancy and Greg were awesome! Would also recommend them for any tour in that area you're interested in. Good food, good wine, and great memories!!

Couldn’t have been better

Excellent experience with the owner, Brian. The kitchen is better than the picture and the picture is awesome! Lots of pots, pans mixing bowls, plates, etc. Very clean when we arrived. Plenty of bathrooms. As stated in the description, it is well water. BUT the well water is awesome- no sulpher or iron- just ice cold water right out of the tap. Bedrooms and beds are very nice. The setting is more wooded and private than anticipated. We also rented the game house. Pool table, card table, game system and an antique pinball machine. One suggestion (a super minor one) the dart board is magnetic tips- I’m sure it is for safety for little ones. There is a cork board behind the board so I bet it would be fine to hang your own horsehair board and play metal tips if you wanted. Our crew was made up of 47 year old men-boys, high school friends. The accommodations were only secondary to the company. Renters get so much for the money 10 star recommendation to anyone viewing Rustic Retreats. Thank you Brian for making everything so easy. Girls' Getaway

We stayed two nights for a girls' getaway. This property is just as described and more! There was plenty of room for all of us to stay comfortably and everything we needed was on hand. The property is stunning and there is plenty to explore. Check in and communication with the owner was easy and seamless. I would definitely stay here again.

Great family getaway!

My sisters family of seven and my family of seven cannot stay just anywhere. Ranging in age from 18 months to 64 years, it takes a unique property to satisfy the space and entertainment needs of such a diverse group. This place did it. Everybody had room to be together or get elbow room if they wanted. We hope to do it again at the holidays! I HIGHLY recommend it!

Excellent venue for our Surprise birthday party for my 90 year old dad.

We rented to whole Retreat for the weekend. Everyone was blown away by the beauty and peacefulness of the place. The canoes were a hit, and the game room was THE hangout for the teenagers, as well as my dad. What a memorable time for all of us!

Awesome and relaxing!

We spent the weekend here with our aging parents and had a wonderful time! The main house was perfect with 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and no steps. This was our 2nd year in a row to stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our time together and visiting the wineries! Jen is very helpful and quick to answer a text! We plan on returning next summer, God willing!

I was born and raised in Michigan, but for the past 12 years, my Parisian husband and I have had the joy of calling France and Ireland our home. During that time, we managed a wonderful hospitality business, "TravelJadore" including a cozy creperie in stunning County Donegal, Ireland. We have a true passion for delicious, thoughtfully prepared food and wine from small, artisan producers. It’s been a delightful journey, full of new flavors, new friends and lots of warm memories along the way.
