Very nice place on a quiet street near to a private beach for the local home owners. Gorgeous beach. Really good basement activities and the outdoor zip line was perfect for the kids. All the necessary amenities and toys to keep everyone entertained. ThanksBasement queen size bed needs a proper box spring. Being cut in half makes it very uncomfortable and almost impossible for 2 adults to try to sleep on. Two singles pushed together would have been much better if a real queen box spring can’t go down the stairs. ;(
We stayed at the “Riverside in Southcott Pines” cottage at the end of July. The location was great. It was quiet, scenic, and only an 8-minute walk to the beach. When we weren’t at the beach, we enjoyed relaxing on either the front porch or back deck. We had fun with the badminton net and firepit in the front yard. In the evenings and rainy days, we appreciated the games room. The house itself offered plenty of space for our family of four to stretch out for the week. A BIG draw-back for us was the condition of the appliances. The BBQ was temperamental, and both the oven and dishwasher were not working. When we contacted the property manager, there was a lack of urgency to resolve the issues. The response times and communication were poor. Despite our struggles with cooking the entire week, we still had a great time, but we won’t be back.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re glad to hear you enjoyed the peaceful location, the short walk to the beach, and the outdoor amenities such as the firepit, badminton, and the games room. It’s wonderful to know your family had a relaxing week overall.
We sincerely apologize for the issues you experienced with the BBQ and kitchen appliances. Unfortunately, the oven and dishwasher malfunctioned unexpectedly during your stay. While replacement parts were ordered as quickly as possible, they could not be obtained before your departure. We also recognize that our communication did not meet the standard of responsiveness you should expect, and for that we apologize.
Your comments have been shared with our team, and we are reviewing our procedures to ensure we communicate more promptly and effectively when unforeseen maintenance issues arise. We appreciate your feedback, as it helps us improve the experience for future guests.
Thank you again for staying with us, and we wish you and your family all the best.
It has all the comfort of home, except bed sheet and bath towels.Close to a nice private beach which we have access. We enjoy the family time at Riverside. The Property manager is quick to address a small problem of the stove.
We came to town for an event at the Motorplex that turned out to be poorly planned and not as advertised but the cottage, its location and the view from the back yard made the entire weekend more than worth the trip.

We had the pleasure of hosting Andrew, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. Communication was smooth and timely from the start, and they followed all house rules with care and respect. The property was left in excellent condition — clean, tidy, and well looked after. Andrew was courteous, considerate, and a genuinely thoughtful guest. We'd be happy to host them again anytime and would highly recommend them to any other host. Thanks again for staying with us!
Exactly what we needed! The house is an 8 minute walk to either Sun Beach or South Beach. So many "perks" to the place: bikes, badminton, fire pit, walking path along the Old River right out the back door, and more indoor fun than you'll ever need (pool table, pacman, hoops, etc). This property is well maintained, and every step has been taken to manage the "issues" that are common/expected for a house of this age in this location (next to Old River). Zero complaints here! The property manager, Paul, is extremely responsive. When in Grand Bend, don't miss: the sunset (top 10 in the WORLD), Cottage Cafe, the iconic Dairy Dip, Archies, Sea Jewels, and pizza from Riverbend. Summer 2025, there is enough beach to walk all the way to the Pinery (this isn't always the case given the fluctuating water levels of Lake Huron). If you're fortunate enough to book over Canada Day (July 1), the fireworks run a full 30 min from the big pier over the water.Lovely in every way!
