The space
Our 110-year-old shotgun home is a distinctive architectural style with a rich history, most commonly found in neighborhoods like Mid City.
We recently updated the property with modern amenities, but the traditional layout and architectural features are still very much intact, preserving their historic character.
We have a lovely covered front porch that you can enjoy relaxing on and taking in the sights and sounds of the neighborhood.
Our home is surrounded by the historical cemeteries. The historic cemeteries in the area are a beautiful and serene reflection of the city’s rich history and culture, often referred to as “Cities of the Dead.” They also make for quiet neighbors!
ABOUT THE NEIGHBORHOOD
Mid City is a neighborhood where tradition meets modernity. You’ll find 100-year-old shotgun houses, oak-lined streets, and quirky local businesses alongside new restaurants, breweries, and cafes. The area is also known for its lively streetcar routes, making commuting to the French Quarter, downtown, and other parts of the city easy and scenic.
One of the most appealing aspects of Mid City is its neighborhood feel. It’s a friendly and diverse community, with neighbors often gathering for festivals, second lines, or casual porch conversations.

Guests will have unlimited access to all areas of the home, including full kitchen, bath, and outdoor/front porch area.

Please note the shotgun layout of our home— the design is perfect for close friends, families, or couples.
This historic property may not be ideal for those with mobility issues— i.e. front steps please review photos carefully & contact us with any questions.
This property is a double (duplex). Although your space will be private, please be advised that we live next door with our young daughter. Our home is an old house and although insulated, not completely soundproof— we do our best to keep things peaceful during your visit with us!
PLEASE NOTE: IF MORE THAN 4 PEOPLE ARRIVE TO STAY IN THIS VRBO, YOUR RESERVATION WILL BE CANCELLED, AND YOU WILL HAVE TO FIND OTHER ACCOMMODATIONS. OUR SHORT-TERM RENTAL PERMIT WITH THE CITY HAS A 4 PERSON MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY, MEANING WE COULD LOOSE OUR PERMIT AND NOT BE ABLE TO VRBO ANYMORE IF WE VIOLATE THE CITY STR ORDINANCE.
