About this property

Adorable Beach Front Cottage on Moody Beach

Just re-opened for rentals, The “Little Pearl” Beach Cabana is every beach lover's dream. Ocean front, directly on the dunes of coveted Moody Beach, you can spend your days soaking up the best beach in Maine and your nights sleeping peacefully to the sound of the ocean. A true beach getaway that will bring you back to a more peaceful and simpler time. Your quiet, semi-private beach right out your doorstep removes the stress of finding parking or a square of sand at the crowded public beach.

This 2-bedroom 1-bath seasonal beach cabana is the perfect summer beach getaway for a family or couple.

These original beach cottages are a true gem on Moody beach (the best beach in all of southern Maine!) Located just North of Ogunquit Beach! Spend your days surfing, fishing, splashing in the tide pools, boogie boarding on the waves, playing a game of bocce on the wide sand, or simply reading a book in your beach chair. At night, enjoy oceanfront dinner at home or overlooking the marsh sunset, or in one of the many local restaurants of Ogunquit, Wells, or Kennebunk. Ogunquit is an easy walk down the beach, and you can catch a trolley ride part of the way to the footbridge beach.

One of 7 original beach cottages from the 1930’s in the Moody Sands Complex, you will be directly on the beach with no other cottage in front or behind it. This is a quiet community of beach lovers with a private beach, outdoor showers, picnic tables, and grills.

Your private "cabana" has an eat in kitchen, bathroom and 2 bedrooms. Please note there is no “living room” as your days will be filled living on the beach! However, both bedrooms are a cozy space to relax after a long day.

The small, yet fully equipped kitchen is the perfect spot to make a cup of coffee and enjoy the sunrise over the ocean, or prepare your meals with a view. There is an eat in table overlooking the ocean as well as an outdoor picnic table and Adirondack chairs for guest use.

The main bedroom has a queen bed and the second bedroom has a twin over full-sized bunk bed.

The bathroom has a toilet in one part and a sink and stall shower in the other.

This cottage was recently updated and re-listed with all new paint and furniture, including brand new mattresses, but has been a favorite/ 5 star repeat guest rental for many, many years!

2 designated parking spots are available; however, the parking is very tight, and no oversized vehicles are allowed. (sprinter vans, campers, etc)

Please note:
Guests are responsible for linens and towels.
Pillows and blankets are provided.
4 beach chairs, 1 umbrella, and sand toys are provided.
Ceiling fans are in each room. (no ac, but the ocean breeze usually keeps it cool)

Host left a lovely welcome greeting, which was icing on the cake... Having an uninterrupted view of the ocean through the kitchen window was magical, surreal, and exactly what I was hoping for. The cottage was charming and my friend and I were enchanted! The Little Pearl was clean, well appointed and presented exactly like the description. Comfortable beds and practically the entire beach to ourselves, as we enjoyed slightly off season dates - pure beach-heaven!!

Its a cute little cottage right on the beach that has all the basics you need. We watched the sunrise in the morning and the moon rise at night from right outside our door. We sat in the window, watching the waves at breakfast and the rest of the day playing in the sand and water. Its was chilly at night and Kate checked to make sure we had found everything to keep us comfortable. This area of Maine is my absolute favorite and it was wonderful to have my family of 4 generations together on the this special beach vacation.

The Best Maine Getaway

We absolutely loved our stay at the Little Pearl beach cottage. The location is perfect- Each morning you walk out your door onto a beautiful private beach where we spent most of everyday on our vacation. The cottage itself is adorable, very clean and extremely cozy. It gives you a nice beachy feeling (we kept with the windows open and fell asleep to the waves and the ocean breeze in the background). Although small, it was enough room for my husband and I as well as our 3 young kids. The cottage is located on Moody beach and is right next to the town of Ogunquit, so there are a ton of fantastic restaurants and shops that are extremely close. We went out to a fantastic breakfast each morning with the family (after our morning stroll on the beach and a quick wake-up dip in the ocean), and came right back to the beach to relax. There are also great activities in the surrounding area- We took the family on a lobster boat tour in Perkins Cove as well as hit the Children’s Museum in Portland during the one rainy day on our stay. On the beach we went walking and shell collecting with the kids each day and they had a blast finding crabs, sea snails and clams. Overall we had a fantastic trip and highly recommend staying at the Little Pearl. We will definitely be back next year!
