This is our second stay at Susan and John's lovely home. It's just outside Aspen in the perfect location convenient to all the mountains and town. The views are stunning and the home is perfect for a couple. Everything is thoughtfully designed and very comfortable. The bed and linens are fantastic, huge kitchen and great pizza oven that we've used on both trips. Hot tub is a nice touch after a long day of skiing. Susan and John are great hosts. Highly recommend!

Amazing home just outside of Aspen
My wife and I (and our dog, “Via”) spent 8 glorious days at Casa de Piedras in July of 2018. This beautifully restored stone home is perfect for 2 people who want to be close to Aspen but not IN Aspen. The house has an amazing chef’s kitchen with an awesome Monogram gas range and a fantastic Nespresso coffee machine (complete with pods). Outside on the patio, you’ll find an incredible gas BBQ and... drum roll... a wood-fired pizza oven! Everything is stocked right down to the hardwood for the pizza oven and instructions on how to use it. Needless to say, we made some amazing meals at Casa de Piedras. This house is so comfortable, you could easily stay for a month and never feel like you are missing anything. The linens were upscale and meticulously clean, the bed was super comfortable, and the location was private yet close to everything. The owners, Susan and John, were extremely attentive and made sure we had everything we needed for a flawless stay. Over the years, we’ve stayed in many vacation rentals, but this one was absolutely the cream of the crop. We will definitely return. -John & Brenda (& Via)

Perfection!
The house has everything you need and it's in the perfect location, just outside of Aspen, but at the same time very close to Snowmass, Buttermilk and Highlands. The setup is great, perfect for a single person or a couple. Big gourmet kitchen, great outdoor area with pizza oven and hot tub, views as far as the eye can see. The owners are very thoughtful and easy to communicate with. Highly recommended!

I lived in Casa Piedras for over 5 months. It was such a happy time for me and a wonderful experience. Susan and John were the most fantastic landlords...and met every need or wish or desire I had. This is a very unique place...unique in that you can be so comfortable and cozy with one ot two people....and oh so comfortable. But you also entertain so effortlessly..with the gourmet kitchen and pizza oven and fireplace...it is so cozy and inviting. I would HIGHLY recommend this place...it is a pearl..so special. Feel free to contact me for any further information.

Little slice of Heaven
It was our first time booking with VRBO and our first time going to Colorado .We spent 14 hours driving from Dallas to Colorado for a relaxing week with our pup . When we arrived we were thrilled with the location , house and all the amenities.
We didn't want to be in town but also didn't want to be in the middle of nowhere , so the house was perfect . There are few properties around you, that, whilst you cant see them I always find it reassuring to know they are there. The view from the patio is beautiful with a gorgeous snowy peak directly in front of you . We sat and had breakfast most mornings looking at this view , it was a little chilly but was well worth it , we were wrapped up .
The kitchen in the house has every utensil, pot and pan that you could ask for . My husband is a keen cook so he was thrilled . I came back with atleast 3lbs of vacation weight !! I would highly recommend making lots of pizza dough early on , the pizza oven is SENSATIONAL. The house is cosy at night time with the fire lit and the bed is very comfy .
There are loads of walks close by and aspen is about 3-4 minutes drive . City market is good for some essentials and Meat and Cheese is great for cheese and amazing steaks and deli meats.
We cant wait to come back next time . As most people have mentioned , Susan and John were great . Gave us loads of info before we arrived and answered any questions we had . The house is so tasteful and modern and Susans photography is beautiful .
Anyone who gets to this property will thoroughly enjoy themselves .

Serenity Just Outside of Aspen
We rented this small home for the month of August and it was perfect for the two of us. Some of the highlight features of the home include the gourmet kitchen, steam master bath, 5+ private acres for space and privacy, wood fire oven, expansive view of the private jets coming and going framed by the rocky mountains, and five star linens throughout the home.
The owners went above and beyond and even had a welcome gift for us upon arrival.
We would definitely book again!

Our Vacation at the Casa De Pietro
Jennifer and I have stayed during Christmas and New Years and enjoyed this home an ammeneties immensely! Pizza oven, outside jacuzzi, river fountain stream, steam bath, gourmet kitchen and a nice comfortable patio over looking Aspen and Buttermilk Mountains. We rented again for 30 days 2015 summer and absolutely love this home and location. The home is nested on top of McClain Flats with views of the mountains etc. The privacy is wonderful along with all of the amenities makes this house superior to others that we have reviewed. The owners are super nice and accommodating. I give it 5 Stars!!

Perfect house for 2!
This house was perfect for the 2 of us and our 2 dogs. Although it is a small space it is incredibly well laid out and we never felt like we were on top of each other for the entire month we were there. There are great hiking trails close by and our dogs loved the 3 minute drive to Rio Grande where they could play in the river. The pizza oven outdoors was wonderful- so much fun to have friends over for pizza. The location couldn't be better as you are just outside of town where you don't have to deal with the traffic of downtown Aspen as you can take the back road into town. A few minutes down the road takes you to Basalt which has great restaurants, Whole Foods & shopping. And the tempurpedic bed ( which was just like our bed at home) was the icing on the cake. The owners were extremely nice and highly attentive to our needs. I definitely recommend staying here. The view from the back patio is stunning, especially during a lightening storm. As it is across from the airport there is airport noise but we dealt with it just like all the neighbors with their 20 millions dollar homes do. Thats the neighborhood you are in.

Extraordinay Mountain Residence
My partner and I, along with our small dog Barney, just spent one perfect month in the" stone house."
This home has it all: Spectacular location in the country just a couple of miles from Aspen.
Highly refined design aesthetic throughout
Five star amenities throughout the home.(think Frette linens, Cuisinart cook tools, indoor professional gas range, outdoor wood burning pizza oven and outdoor gas range)
Every thing that we needed was provided and provided again. Items we didn't know we needed were,of course, thoughtfully present.
This was an extraordinary experience in every way.
I have no negative comments to offer.
