Upon entering the home, you will find hardwood floors throughout, an open floor plan for the living room & kitchen area and an abundance of natural light spilling in through the windows. Both bedrooms are located up the stairs, each with their own Charleston piazza and attached en suite bathroom. Off-street parking on the driveway for up to two cars is included in the rental rate. With close proximity to upper King Street and the Crosstown (Septima P. Clark Parkway), the location of this home enables guests to walk to restaurants, shops & other cultural delights and provides quick road access to Mt. Pleasant, West Ashley, all local beaches, Charleston County parks, historic plantation homes along the Ashley River and other local attractions. There are a lot of new local restaurants -- as well as all the offerings of Upper King Street -- within a couple of minutes stroll from the Sweet Spacious Suite. With D'Allesandros Pizza (a local pizza institution), Brown's Court Bakery (amazing breads & pastries) and the Ordinary (high end oyster & seafood restaurant) a couple of blocks, guests have many unique local food options to explore. Walk to Barsa for some Tapas or visit the Daily for some coffee or locally made Kombucha!
This is the best neighborhood in Charleston if you are looking to be steps away from King Street and experience the area as a local in a transitional neighborhood among new residents of the city, students and longtime local families. The diversity and richness of history in the Cannonborough-Elliotborough neighborhood makes this part of town desirable to locals and visitors alike. Sweet Spacious Suite is perfect for folks who enjoy a diverse, vibrant and eclectic neighborhood where you can watch the reinvestment & revitalization in old historic properties going on in real time. Parts of the neighborhood might still look a bit rough but it is safe. This neighborhood was recently profiled by the WALL ST JOURNAL in April 2017 as "THE PLACE TO STAY IN CHARLESTON" and it's also where Jamie Lee Curtis stayed - and walked her dog every morning - while shooting the 2018 remake of the Halloween movie!
We are close to the crosstown parkway which may impact light sleepers but our db readings show it isn't loud enough to be a disturbance. There is also construction in the street which is almost complete but may result in additional noise during the day or other issues beyond our control.

Please no excessive noise and no unregistered guests during quiet hours (10:00 pm to 8:00 am Sunday through Thursday nights and midnight to 10:00 am on Friday and Saturday nights).
- Please also note this is a duplex so you will occasionally hear and see the residents of the other half of the home. The yard is shared by both halves of the duplex.

Over-priced. The doors did not close properly. None of the door knobs turn. The bed sagged. The best feature is the proximity to King St, but the neighborhood has a lot of construction nearby and seems a bit run down.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. We’re always glad when guests enjoy the location — it’s hard to beat being just steps from King Street and some of Charleston’s best dining, including several Michelin-recognized spots.
Gertie’s is an original Charleston home, and part of that charm comes with older doors and hardware that don’t behave like new construction. Even so, the bed and any mechanical issues should be right — had we known during your stay, we’d have addressed them straightaway.
As for the surrounding area, Charleston has been the top tourist destination in the country for years, and with that comes constant investment and improvement. Construction is part of a growing city, but it never affects the safety or walkability of this neighborhood.
We do appreciate the feedback, and we’ll take another look at the items you mentioned to be sure everything is in good order for future guests.
Our stay was wonderful! Perfect space for our group and location couldn’t have been better. The host was also very responsive to question and amazing customer service. Would highly recommend!

The place was very clean and spacious. A tad bit noisy at times during the day from traffic but not too bad. Overall, I would definitely stay here again.
We really enjoyed our stay. Space was very clean and spacious. I particularly liked that each bedroom had it's own bathroom and balcony. There is also a lovely covered deck where I enjoyed having breakfast. The neighborhood is quite noisy, mainly due to the close proximity of the freeway. But I felt the positives far outweighed that negative. The noise didn't really bother us much, but I could see that being an issue for some. I loved that we were so close to all of the things we wanted to do. Most of the attractions we wanted to see were a 15 minute drive or less. And when we did go further away, the entrance to the freeway was 2 blocks away, so that was quite convenient as well. Overall I would highly recommend this property. It is well kept, and conveniently located.
We came for a sister’s trip. We had such a great time!! It was a wonderful place to stay and close to walking to all restaurants, tours, and shops. We would definitely stay again!

The place is bigger than expected with a great hangout area on the main floor. The location is ideal for walking to all the bars and restaurants. The iTrip team communicated well with all the details before hand which made it easy to just show up and enjoy the city of Charleston.

We traveled with friends to visit Charleston and review our history lessons. The home is well appointed and centrally located. We especially enjoyed watching "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil", as one evening was quite rainy. Loved Delasandros pizza shop. Close and delicious.

The property was clean and the bathrooms and kitchen looked to have been recently upgraded. However, its right next to the highway so the traffic is pretty loud. The road and driveway are tiny, so parking was a little tight. The neighborhood is quite nice with lots of local spots to eat and shop.
Loved the location, close to airport and to all attractions near King Street. Owners were quick to respond with any questions, made sure I had reminders for check-in and for check-out—very easy!
