The location is convenient for the city centre, but sadly the apartment needs a thorough clean and some refurbishment. We had to wash all the crockery before we could use it, the drawers were full of crumbs etc and needed hoovering out at least. We also cleaned the kitchen worktop and some other surfaces. We could not work out how to use the TV, there was just an old remote with its markings almost erased. Furnishings all old and random items. It really needs a clean and upgrade!

Fantastic location

We spent 5 nights at the property in June 2025.The location is exceptional, on Oriental Bay and a short walk to bars, restaurants, supermarket, takeaways, Te Papa, Sunday markets etc.It is an older style Wellington flat, a little bit dated, but we found it very comfortable and warm, and enjoyed staying there. It is not a very quiet location if that is what you are looking for, but we loved being right on the beachfront road and pathway with its passing parade of characters and people wandering in for a winter swim in the harbour.We found the information on the listing a bit unclear about the need to arrange the use of the garage in advance with an additional separate charge, but this was quickly organised by the host when we arrived so that we had somewhere to park the rental car.Overall a great stay.

We needed 4 separate beds for 4 single women travelling together. We were assured that this was the case, but one bed (stretcher) was broken or incomplete, so we were unable to put it up. This was a big disappointment as I had specifically checked with the owner. The room was advertised as suitable for 7 people, but with 4 people, it was pretty tight. The settee in the lounge opened out meant the coffee table was squashed up to the TV and impossible to get around. Too small for the advertised 7 people! The location was fabulous and just where we needed to be. Unfortunately, we requested renting the garage for the 3 days, but this was not available for us to use. Otherwise it was a nice space.

The host was basically non responsive. The apartment was dirty, cobwebs everywhere, windows were filthy. I brought this to the owner’s attention and he did not even bother to respond.The towels were grungy and tattered, there was no shampoo and conditioner. we asked about how to take out the trash and there was no response
