Harwood Farms is a working Horse Farm within the Town limits of Los Gatos, CA. Enjoy endless views of the Silicon Valley including downtown San Jose, Pruneyard Towers, Campbell and Moffett Field to the North and Boulder Ridge County Club to the East. The bunkhouse is a traditional single story California ranch style home. It has been home to my family since 1986 and now your family and friends can experience the same. There is room to roam on-property plus a trailhead a few hundred yards providing miles of dog-walking, hiking-biking-running trails. Enjoy your own private swimming pool (heated many months of the year), feed carrots to our 8 horses in the afternoon, or hang around our game-fish pond stocked with Bluegill, Sun Fish, Catfish, Large Mouth Bass, and a few colorful Koi, Barbecue in the backyard or read a book under an old oak-tree. Harwood Farms is an Oasis in the Heart of Los Gatos and the Bunkhouse can now be your go-to home-away-from-home.

What a wonderful/respectful group of families and friends on a weekend getaway. Their children enjoyed swimming in the heated pool, feeding worms to the fish in my pond and feeding carrots to our horses. Also, I greatly appreciated their feedback on things that I could improve on which i've already implemented...Thank you!

Wonderful Stay

A lovely spacious vintage residence with a warm and inviting host. The pool and hot tub were thoroughly enjoyed. The host provided a horse and fish pond experience for the kids. The host graciously provided wood and charcoal for the BBQ. Overall it was a wonderful stay and we would come back!

This was the first group to stay at my Bunkhouse at Harwood Farms since listing my property on VRBO. What a wonderful family and "thank you" for selecting my home. It was my pleasure providing a personal tour allowing their children to feed worms to my Bluegill & Large Mouth Bass and then venturing down to the stables and feed carrots to our horses. I think enjoyed seeing their excitement as much as they enjoyed the experience!

10-Star Stay for Us and Our Pup!We spent a full month at the Bunkhouse and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Our pup was in heaven with nearly an acre of fully-fenced yard to explore and play in safely. It was the perfect setup for a long-term stay with a dog. The house itself was spacious, comfortable, and immaculately clean. The kitchen and other areas were nicely equipped with everything we needed for an extended stay. We particularly enjoyed the nighttime skyline views from the living room. The swimming pool was nicely positioned to offer a mix of amazing views and privacy, and we used it just about every single day. Getting to know Fred, our host, was the icing on the cake. He was friendly, responsive, and always available to help with anything we needed. Thank you for your hospitality!Overall, 10-star experience! We will not hesitate to stay here again when in the area, and highly recommend to anyone looking for a pet-friendly stay at a remarkable property.

I am a native of San Jose California and moved into what I now call the Bunkhouse in October 1986. This is where I raised my 2 boys until they moved on. Now in my retirement, I spend my days working on Harwood Farms, maintaining the gamefish pond, mending fences, scooping horse poop, driving my tractors and more. Living at the Bunkhouse is like living back in simpler times.

Why they chose this property

Los Gatos is a beautiful, safe and quiet Town adjacent to the much larger City of San Jose. Living in my neighborhood at an elevation of about 450 feet above sea level is peaceful and private. There is ample acreage separating the neighboring homes and are views of the Valley floor are beautiful both night and day!

The uniqueness of The Bunkhouse at Harwood Farms is beyond description. Where else can your family find a home-away-from-home that offers so many onsite amenities. Plus we are only minutes to major grocery stores, hospitals, shopping malls, the quaint down town Los Gatos, the San Jose International Airport, Great America, 1 hour from downtown San Francisco, and more.
