The property was clean secluded and just what I needed. The fall colors and atmosphere was quiet and cozy and I enjoyed the front porch and fire pit. A great deal. The hostess, Lydia, is very friendly and was a pleasure to speak with and definitely added to my experience.
Adorable orange cabin nestled on a hillside. Quiet nights, serenaded by whip-poor-wills, red tailed hawks, Eastern screech owls, and... Cows! We had a restful night in preparation for a week long backpacking trek in the Quehanna Wilds. We hope to come back one day.
This space was very clean and was set back, giving privacy and solitude. We arrived at night, so it was a bit difficult knowing we were at the correct place due to a lack of number/signing. But, once found we were very satisfied.
Just when you think you’ve gone far enough away from civilization, you go a little farther to find this cabin. It was so quiet and away from everything you could hear nature and relax. Very little Wi-Fi reception so we were happy we brought good books. Cozied up to the fire at night, and when we were ready, town was just a peaceful drive. We found a couple of places to eat near by that were amazing. Would definitely recommend to anyone needing a good break from electronics and busy life.
I truly had an amazing time. Although there were a few things that caught me by surprise. One issue I had was it wasn't listed as having zero cell service, and it said to ask the property manager about wifi on the listing, so I assumed there would be some sort of connection. There was not. I got there, couldn't load my VRBO page to see the message from the host with the door code, so I had to leave, get cell connection, screenshot it, then go back to the cabin. The other thing that kind of freaked me out was that we left for a hike, and when we came back, some things had been moved around, towels were added, and an instructions sheet that wasn't there prior was on the table. The host didn't communicate before hand that they would be entering the property even though we had told them we made it in and settled in a bit. I realize this might just be me, but I was freaked out my entire stay because of that and because there was no way to deadbolt the door, just the pad lock that obviously the host had the code to. Other than those two things, I think this is an amazing place, super beautiful, a lot of amenities, a lot of toiletries and other essentials left there kindly by the host just in case you forgot something at home. I am reluctant to not give 5 stars, but the lack of communication about entering the cabin while we had already gotten there just really freaked me out...
