We had a wonderful visit, the village and surrounding area is beautiful and peaceful with lots of places to walk. Close to the busy, touristy villages for visits but we were glad to escape back to the quiet after a day out exploring. The cottage is extremely well equipped and very comfortable and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Mark is a very responsive host and gave us lots of information on the area. Hope to return soon.
This place ticked all the boxes for us. A beautiful stone cottage, easily big enough for 6 of us, with comfortable beds and a well-equipped kitchen. Also a very short stroll to the lovely Lamb Inn. My siblings and partners (6 of us) didn’t want to leave. We will be back we hope.
If anyone dreams of staying in the Cotswolds in an authentic cottage, you couldn't improve upon our stay. We had a three-generation family including two teenagers who enjoyed every moment. The cottage had every convenience and was beautifully decorated. While many tours were clogging the streets of nearby destinations around the area, we were able to walk the quiet village and fields. It was truly a delight and we can't recommend it highly enough.
The cottage and surrounding neighborhood were lovely. Close to all the towns but not the crowds. Beautiful natural setting and everything we needed to feel at home.
A lovely English cottage in a typical Cotswold village. The cottage is very comfortable and extremely well equipped with good outside space when the weather is warm. We would return and would certainly recommend.

Delighted that you enjoyed your stay, and you are always. welcome back!
Easterleigh felt like the quintessential Cotswold cottage - full of charm and character. Great Rissington is a lovely village with great access to all the central Cotswolds’ ‘big hitters’. We took Sunday lunch at the local Lamb Inn, which was excellent. Our group of six - two grandparents, two parents, two kids <10 were very comfortable for a week, and would happily return. Thanks, Mark!
The most beautiful property with all modern conveniences close enough to be easily accessible yet far enough away to make the town seem magical. We enjoyed all the information that Mark sent to us in advance of our stay. The house was immaculate. We really enjoyed the e bikes we rented from Cotswold ebikes and the beautiful homes and churches that were just right out the front door.

Delighted that you enjoyed it so much! Very welcome back. Mark
I wanted to stay in a quintessential English cottage in the Cotswolds and this was definitely it. Well appointed and comfortable with modern bathrooms and conveniences. The host was quick to respond to any questions and provided detailed information in his house manual about the area and suggested things to do. We walked to the local pub/inn "The Lamb Inn" for a meal and a Guinness. Good food and friendly locals. The cottage is also close to the public walking paths for a scenic stroll. We loved it and highly recommend.

Delighted that you enjoyed it so much and that it exactly met your expectations. We bought it as our "quintessential" Cotswolds cottage dream, so pleased that it fulfils that for others. Mark
This is a lovely property, but more suitable for four or five people. It was built when property’s were smaller. We spent a lot of time in the garden, as the weather was hot! A umbrella to have some shade would have been nice, and some tall glasses so we could have had a long drink, there were only very small glasses. Three bathrooms were a big plus though, and lots of hot water. Very good pub, The Lamb, which we went to twice, only a five minute walk away. Mark was very accommodating moving our break from Christmas, when we were told we couldn’t travel, to June. I can see why he brought the property, the Cotswolds are beautiful.

We have used all four bedrooms with seven people pre-Covid many times and everyone seemed happy. There should have been some picnic tumblers, I will check what happened there. There is a pergola over the terrace and several trees in the garden, so that should have been Ok for shade, but you were there in an all-too-rare period of very hot weather. Anyway, glad you enjoyed it enough that it still got a good rating. Mark.
We really like the Great Rissington area. House it very cute. We only stayed 2 nights, but I could see it being used for more nights to truly unwind. We actually didn’t realize there was a “secret garden” past the gate in the first back yard until our second day. We enjoyed just sitting in the backyard and watching the clouds go by (we had amazing weather). Our only negative is one of the bathroom toilets didn’t work which was ok because there were only 4 of us and 3 bathrooms. Also, sad we didn’t ever get to eat at the lamb inn. If you want to eat there make a reservation. The first night we tried to eat there at 8:00 pm and the cook had left. The second night they were completely book. So had to drive 15 minutes to dinner, when a simple walk to dinner would have been so nice.
I would recommend this cottage to anyone.

Glad you enjoyed it and welcome back. Sorry about the toilet blockage, we got it fixed the next day. Yes, the Lamb is very good and gets very busy, which is why our guidebook recommends booking it in advance. Mark.
Perfect location to enjoy the area from. Cottage is lovely and cosy. Beds comfy, sitting room cosy and having three bathrooms a great bonus. Fantastic views from the upstairs bedrooms and the village is stunning.
Would recommend the cottage highly and would love to return.
We were very lucky with the weather which meant we saw the village at its best as well as surrounding locations but our only negative feedback for a stay in the area, which has nothing to do with this cottage specifically, is that The Lamb Inn in the village. It wasn't what we expected having heard about it on a previous visit to the area but having failed to make it there that time. It seems it has changed hands and to be honest the staff were not overly customer focussed. We have a few tales to tell from our evening meal there!!! We all said that our meals were tasty which is the main aim, but the place was lacking atmosphere, there was a massive TV with football on in the bar area, which I guess is great if that's what you want and they actually switched off the lights in one section after the table based there left.....time to leave cue I guess except it was only 930.....to be honest it's worth going further afield to find a more cosy experience. A shame as people had spoken so highly of it. Still it was entertaining for the wrong reasons and definitely didn't spoil a lovely weekend.

Glad you enjoyed the cottage and it got full ratings., but your comments on changes at the Lamb Inn are noted. As you say, my other guests seem to have loved it. So will give the topic some thought. Mark
The property is attractive to look at, spacious and cosy. It has some disappointing shortcomings, for example - the Wi-Fi password listed in the email communication and in the welcome brochure was incorrect which necessitated contacting the local agent. She supplied the correct one confirming she had informed the owner previously. No wash tabs available and limited dishwasher tabs, only enough logs for two days during our stay ( where do you obtain logs and wash tabs late on Christmas Eve). The remote control of the heating via the local agent was not an ideal situation especially as we couldn’t light a fire when required. Although when the heating was on the cottage was warm and cosy. The cottage shows a Rayburn but you are not encouraged to use it due to the high cost of electricity. We are strangers to the area and found the instructions for disposal of waste some what ambiguous, plus the box for waste paper appeared to be missing. It would be useful if a new and up to date instruction brochure was provided for all current equipment and waste collection days. The cottage would be excellent for a summer stay but needs fine tuning for winter. The local agent was excellent and went out of her way to help before and during our stay.

Apologies for the wrong internet password, will be resolved, and I will check the dishwasher tablet supply. The instructions beforehand do state very clearly that we only provide a welcome set of logs, which were there as you state, guests who anticipate a lot of use of real fires, which many do as it is a lovely feature, bring the amount they expect to need with. As you confirm, the cottage is in fact warm and cosy in any case. Waste collection days are unfortunately all over the place at Christmas, nothing we can do about that. We will check the alleged mssing box.

I have an obsession about personal service, not just machines with endless tape recordings an options and waiting 20 minutes to be answered!
I always make sure that I or my agents are available at the end of my mobile if needed. My motto is "personal holidays with personal service".Almost 1000 guests a year now stay at my holiday homes. The average rating of over 250 online reviews is 4.9! I try to deliver consistency and quality.
We are all from London. I am a retired banker and my wife is a doctor. We started buying holiday homes because we were consistently disappointed with the quality of other places when we started renting self-catering places as a young family. Hotels didn't offer proper flexibility for small kids, and self-catering was either very basic or ridiculously expensive jetset places.
Our children are now 18,17 and 14, but the business has grown as we found that others like our choice of locations and standards. Some of our guests have stayed in all five of our holiday homes, sometimes 3 or 4 times in the same one.
Why they chose this property
The most important factor is the village. Many properties are listed in busy tourist villages such as Burford or Bourton. We wanted a genuine farming village, not a tourist place, but one that had all the charm of a Cotswold village, with pub, church, etc.
The property is an unusual blend of feeling like a very traditional cottage, but properly modernised, yet not losing any of that tradition. It is quiet, there is lots of parking and a large garden.
What makes this property unique
See the comments about the village above! the 15th century pub is just five minute's walk away. The church is more than 1000 years old, there are Norman graves in the church yard. Visit the tapestry of the village beneath the bell tower and you can find the cottage woven into it!
The cottage is furnished with appropriate furnishings and lighting so that it feels like a country cottage. There is even a library of books to enjoy.
