About this property
Lynx, wildlife, custom log cabin . private lake access, salmon stream kayaking,
If you want to see more pictures go to our Facebook page :Luxurious Lynx Inn. Far too many pictures and videos to place on vrbo. Many bear videos and our lake views.
This property is the real Alaskan Midnight Sun Dream. It has a salmon stream, custom hand hewn cabins, custom woodworking and one of the best views of the lower trail lake and mountains in town. There is a water wheel and fish pond , a huge patio deck off the lodge, and custom fire pit with hand crafted wood swings. The owner has many Alaskan stories about this property and the wildlife. There are very few places left like this that are authentic yet have modern amenities. This is a great place to relax, fish, hike, enjoy life.
The Harry Potter Cabin. It is custom built. It has water & electricity both, and is connected to septic. It is 720 square feet with two floors. There is one bathroom which has a new & large jacuzzi bathtub and a hand shower as well, along with a raised bowl sink.
For heat, there’s an electric fireplace heater downstairs and an electric heater upstairs. Upstairs there are 2 queen size beds .
Located upstairs there is a door that leads you to an outside upper deck above the year round creek and is perfect for salmon viewing when they’re running. And you’re high up enough to view the bears that feed on them, safely.
The outside of the cabin has 4 walls that are each done differently pattern wise. All are made from Spruce and consist of both “First cuts” and as well, “second cuts” also known as Live Edge.
There is a covered front deck at the entrance and the steel roof put on is excellent for listening to the rain fall.
Inside, both floors are made from Spruce and coated with polyurethane. All the railing upstairs is from driftwood found on the Kenai lake and coated with stain.
The kitchen cabinets and kitchen sink top are made from Spruce. The cabinets are layered with “First cuts of Birch”.
Kitchen sink (as well as bathroom sink) are sealed in 2 coats of epoxy. The kitchen bar was sanded, stained and also covered with 2 coats of epoxy.
There are multiple Throw Rugs throughout both floors of the cabin. There is a generously sized closet with a lot of shelves downstairs. There are 2 extremely comfortable recliners downstairs and a flat screen TV to watch. There is an electric stove/oven and a full sized refrigerator in the kitchen.
Under the staircase (as in the Harry Potter movie) there is adequate storage area (when the kids aren’t in it).
The ceiling is done in tongue & grove and all the walls are spruce cut locally.

About the host
Hosted by ROLAND DICKASON

I have owned this property for almost 18 years, The lodge is historic and a book was written about this property, Over this time I crafted five unique cabins , invited my friends, family, executives to enjoy this 4 acre oasis. I have protected the bears, fish, lynx, ermines, squirrels from harm by being cautious around them and at times repaired a broken leg or wing, This property sits on lower trail lake which is one of the prettiest lakes around, I also have a salmon stream and pond that salmon spawn in and bears fish and nurse their young. I am a master craftsman and build hand hewn cabins, swings, custom furniture and a romantic posh treehouse, This is the first year I opened it up to the public, I want to share this beautiful landscape and wildlife before I am too old to enjoy this paradise.
Why they chose this property
Moose Pass is only 40 minutes to Seward which has a harbor, marine center, restaurants and world class fishing, boating. sailing. Moose Pass is only 50 minutes from Coopers Landing which also know for the Kenai River .Moose Pass is only 2 hours away from Anchorage. It is lovely here, enclosed with mountains, lakes, streams, and wildlife. I kayak on this lake and fish regularly, In winters I light my fireplace and listen to the wolves howl. This place is for anyone who loves nature, likes hiking, wildlife viewing and wants to be close to other towns,
