Great cabin, clean, has everything you need. Enjoy being able to stay outside the business of town, but close enough to go into dinner/activities. Tons of amazing trails between the cabin and town.

Very cute cabin with lots of sleeping rooms for a group of friends! Close to steamboat but also far enough away to have more isolation/privacy. The hosts are great too - they communicate well and make things easy. Highly recommend.

We are so glad you enjoyed your stay at Rabbit Ears Basecamp! We love the location as well. Close enough to lots of adventures and town, but far enough away to enjoy quiet and dark night skies. We’d love to welcome you and friends again anytime!
My friends and I loved our stay in the Boondocker! It's so cozy and such a fun getaway from the hustle and bustle. We brought our crafts up and enjoyed a lot of lounge time in the super cute living room, drinking local coffee (what a cute touch!) We also headed to Steamboat for a day in town and went to soak in Strawberry Hot Springs before coming back for dinner. I love how close it is to Steamboat while still being a lovely, remote location and the recommendations in the guidebook were really helpful. I can't wait to tell my friends with kids about the super adorable kids loft so they can come enjoy a stay as well.
Great stay away from the crowds. Beautiful wilderness all around. Fall colors were the star of the show. Property is nostalgic with cool old buildings around. Nice to take a dip in the hot tub while it was raining and the rainbows showed up when the sun came through. We got a ton of cool pics from around the property. The cabin has a great, rustic feel. The smell of pinewood when we walked in the door. Nice kitchen and comfy sofas. Cooked our meals there, even had steaks on the grill. The loft is really cool too with room for 6. Would recommend if you like an out of town stay. This is close to the highway but that didn't bother us much.
It was a very cute property and a good location. The hot tub was very nice and we enjoyed using the pool table. The property itself was very comfortable, but there is discomfort with how many mice there were. There is a very wide open field, but many of the mice would run through the walls and we could hear them squeaking at night. Trying to cook in the kitchen we could see them through the wood slats. The curtains in the main room downstairs, the lights from cars at night would show through really bright, and it was hard for one of the guests to fall asleep at night. Over all a cute place to stay, but the help with keeping the mice away and darker window coverings would really be beneficial to the property.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We so wish you had reached out during your stay so we could have helped in the moment. As a vintage mountain cabin, we do take ongoing steps to mitigate seasonal mice activity and inspected after your visit, didn’t find any signs of mice in the living area. We did find some evidence in the exterior soffit, which is likely what you were hearing. We appreciate your note on window coverings and will keep that in mind for future updates. We’re glad you enjoyed the hot tub, pool table, and the comfort of the space overall.

The Boondocker Cabin was one of the first pieces of that vision. What makes this property unique
