About this property
Charming Historic Schoolhouse
Welcome to the Pleasant Corner Schoolhouse Retreat. Charming, rustic & lovingly restored, this schoolhouse is the perfect place for couples & friends, solo travelers & artists seeking solitude & peace. The Schoolhouse is nestled in the rolling fields & bluff tops of western Wisconsin, minutes away from Stockholm, Maiden Rock, & Pepin. Whether you're exploring local galleries, hiking one of the local trails or simply looking for a quiet escape, the Schoolhouse is the ideal getaway.
The Schoolhouse is a wonderfully unique, historical property, maintaining much of its original character — with wood floors, an entire wall of light-filled windows, tin tiles on the walls and ceiling, and those beautiful old school lamps that light the space.
True to its origins, the Schoolhouse is one large open room with a super-comfortable memory foam king bed and a twin trundle daybed which offers sleeping space for two more people.
A privacy screen between the king bed and the dining area is ***available upon request.***
There is a modern, private bathroom with a shower in the rear; complete with fresh towels and stocked with soaps, shampoo, and conditioner.
The Schoolhouse also has a kitchenette in the main room along with an adjoining pantry where you'll find everything you need to make a meal: a refrigerator, stove top, microwave, electric griddle, Kuerig coffeemaker, toaster, pans, utensils, and basic spices/seasonings.
The school also has wifi and a smart TV, but please note there is no cable/live TV or DVD player.
Outside, there is a large back deck with table and chairs where you can enjoy a meal al fresco or just sit and relax. Guests will have exclusive access to the Schoolhouse, so you will not be sharing the property with anyone else. The back yard is surrounded by trees — private and blissfully quiet. And the stargazing at night is incredible.
