About this property
Stare Way to Heaven - Secluded, 3BR,3BA, Hot Tub, Firepit
With truly a view to remember, you will be “staring” out to mountains upon mountains when you reserve your stay at Maggie Mountain Vacations' latest rental home addition, aptly named Stare Way to Heaven. This property is the perfect getaway “house in the mountains” experience. You will marvel at the spectacular views, stunning sunrises and wonder where the world disappeared to as you unwind on one of its two decks, taking in the peaceful serenity surrounding this 3 bedroom, 3 bath property. Better yet, bring your friends as this home sleeps up to 10 people.
The evening view is even more breathtaking, with a bird's eye view of the night stars. The brand new four-person hot tub located on the lower deck along with the adjacent large firepit adds to the ambiance as you smell tonight's dinner cooking on the grill.
Once inside you’ll find an open cathedral ceiling with large stone-wood-burning fireplace, perfect for a cozy night in visiting with friends or hosting family game night. Beautiful hardwood floors and open living space move into the adjacent dining area and large sparkling kitchen. A bunk room just down the hall with 2 bunks with four twin beds, makes the perfect space for children. Also on the main floor is a queen bedroom and full bath with tub/shower combo. Upstairs you’ll find a primary suite with a king bed and primary bathroom and a small loft with foosball table. On the lower level you’ll find a queen bedroom with bonus sitting area.
Just in case you get tired of enjoying tranquility, the cabin has high speed internet with Wi-Fi and steaming cable TV in the master bedroom and lower-level bonus room, so you can stay in touch with the world. Central heat and air, high speed internet, Wi-Fi, wood fireplace, full size washer / dryer, gas grill, and incredible mountain view are just a few of the things that complete this home with everything you came to the mountains to enjoy.
Please note this property is not pet friendly. Unauthorized pets on property will incur a $300 per pet penalty. The access to this home is a paved road. The driveway is hard packed gravel, and moderately steep. We do experience inclement weather in this region, seasonally, that may limit accessibility; we recommend all-wheel drive for access. All wheel drive or 4-wheel drive is required in winter months, with the possibility of tire chains as well.
Stare Way to Heaven is just a 20 minute drive to the heart of Maggie Valley, Cataloochee Ski Area (known for being one of the first ski resorts in the US to open each year), Tube World (snow tubing), Wheels Through Time (a historic motorcycle museum featured on the History Channel's “American Pickers”), horseback riding and only a few miles from golfing.
In about 20 minutes, you could be in Waynesville at Ingles and Publix grocery stores, Walmart or head to Main Street in Waynesville and enjoy additional shopping, dining, and sightseeing.
This home is about a 30-minute drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway, the Cherokee entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and Harrah's Cherokee Casino (even if you do not gamble, Harrah's has some of the best restaurants around), Pisgah National Forest, several golf courses, and just west of Cherokee is Bryson City (home of the Great Smoky Mountain Railway and “Polar Express” during the Christmas Holiday).
You are only minutes from the entrance to Cataloochee Valley, home of the elk and birthplace of the park.
A little more than 50 minutes away, you’ll arrive in Asheville at the Biltmore Estate & Winery (America's largest and most visited privately-owned home), many great restaurants and micro-breweries, and 1 hour and 30 minutes away is Transylvania County (home of the most waterfalls in the United States), and over 100 Antique Shops.
Approximately 1 hour away heading south to Hendersonville, you can visit Sierra Nevada Brewery (with their enormous dining and Tap Room), gem mining, white water rafting, zip-lining and much more in the surrounding areas.
It is just under 1 hour 35 minutes to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, Tennessee (home of Dollywood).
