Great property which is bigger than the pictures allow for. We were two families totalling 7 and also hosted some local family totalling 15 and had plenty of space. Having a separate kids area was a bonus too. Amazing views of pikes peak. Lots of local wildlife and 10 mins from most main points of interest which was ideal. Nice quiet location. Shelly was super responsive and a great host
The Gatgering House was perfect for our large family to rest and relax on our trip to Co Springs! The decor was lovely and the bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking family meals. The entire house was very clean and nicely updated. But our favorite things were the backyard view of the mountains, the trails, and wildlife that visited! Lots of deer, rabbits, and birds including a bald eagle were delightful to see. We hope to come back and stay here again soon!
3 USAFA grads celebrating 50 years of women t the service academies and we couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay! This is definitely on my COS vacation list!
My family had a wonderful stay at The Gathering House. The house was so clean and stocked with everything we needed. It was conveniently located to all the Colorado Springs attractions we wanted to enjoy, but we often found ourselves lounging in the backyard enjoying the gorgeous mountain view. Our host was so easy to communicate with too. We will definitely be back!
This place was amazing and had plenty of room. This place was very close to the highway so to go anywhere was nice. Its has amazing view in the backyard and a great area to sit around a fire pit.
We had an amazing time. House came with more than enough space and everything we needed for our weekend stay. Host communicated amazing thought out our trip and offered tips.My mom isn’t able to get around much and had enough with the amazing views from the house. Thank you so much!
Location was great, 15 minutes from everything, quiet and low traffic. Kitchen fully stocked for cooking and had room for us to put away our groceries so stuff wasn't hanging out on the counters for a week. The Host checked in periodically on how we were doing, and responded to my messages quickly. The house felt like home, in that it does feel lived in, which made it easier to relax. There was 3 separate families, and with it being a 4 level split we could spread out as needed. We're hoping to be back to the Springs next year, and this house will be our first choice.
The views were amazing! The pictures did no justice for the home. We’re a big family of 8 and we had more than enough room! Everything was conveniently close. Would def come back and stay again. Thank you for accommodating us! :)
We enjoyed the open space available in the back of the house, the well-stocked kitchen, comfortable bedrooms and multiple spaces to hang out. Family friendly.
Shelly and her husband were kind, gracious, patient, accommodating and helpful. They went out of their way to accommodate our last minute stay. The place itself was very conveniently located and very easy to get in and out of... even with ice and snow. The house had best of both worlds . Located on the interior of
Clean, very roomy (3 leisure rooms), will comfortably sleep up to 12 adults with 3 to 4 couples sharing a bed. Entertainment galore found inside the house. Plenty of supplies. Regular coffee maker, French Press coffee maker, and Keurig (with multi cup reservoir). All in all a very excellent stay.
We really enjoyed our stay and the communication was amazing.

About the host
Hosted by Shelly Young
Hi, I'm Shelly. My family and I traded California waves for Colorado mountains. I have fallen in love with Colorado Springs & secretly want to be a tour guide. There is just SO much goodness. I love hosting and love asking, "What kind of trip do you need this to be?" to my house guests. Some come for adventure & others need a retreat. In my own life, I've found both in this city and love to help point others to experiences they will enjoy! I'm a Christ follower. I enjoy: people, music, audio books & podcasts, chasing the sun with my camera, travel with girlfriends, & yoga. Living present & intentional to soak in all the good bits of life!
Why they chose this property
We wanted a little slower pace than the Southern California pace that we grew up in. After a visit to Colorado Springs, we fell in love. It seemed the perfect balance for us. We sold our house in CA and bought this house sight unseen because of the view and location! It has been such a special place for our family. We love the quiet and wildlife that the open space bring. We love the proximity to everything and you couldn't ask for better neighbors. And we are happy to get to share it with you!
What makes this property unique
We love the back patio and yard and enjoy it and the views daily. I love the gathering places and the centrality of the kitchen.
