My wife and I stayed for four nights. The cottage was comfortable and cozy. The view from the deck is beautiful and we enjoyed seeing the boats come and go from Casco Bay. We would stay at this location again.

Great water view. I am a large man and the shower handle stuck out about 5" into a small shower stall. So, every time I turned or used the portable shower head I turned the handle either to full hot or full cold. It would have been better to have a flush knob rather than one that stuck out into a very small shower space.

Great Spot On the Water!

This is a wonderful spot for a couple's getaway. Everything was nice pillows, linens, furniture, grill, but most importantly the view. The shower is very small if you're a big person you might not fit. Everything else is fantastic and well worth it! Right around the corner is Harraseeket Lunch and Lobster, great food within walking distance. Shopping in Freeport is amazing. Everyone is very friendly in the area. I highly recommend this location.

Maine Getaway

This was a wonderful place to stay. It was central to everything we were looking to do, and the view of the harbor was spectacular. It would have been even better if we had been able to see the sunrises and sunsets (it was overcast most of the time). The cottage is well-equipped and kept. It is, however, an older property and has limitations. The bathroom is quite small, and the shower would be very difficult for a larger person. I am 5'9" and about 200 pounds. It was tight, but manageable for me. The owner lives next door and is responsive, so don't hesitate to contact. We loved our getaway, and recommend Heron Cottage. By the way, the Lobster Pound less than a mile away is awesome! Bring cash.

Location was perfect close to everything beautiful view of the yacht club and the ocean

Bathroom very small big enough for one person shower is so small that I am 6' 230 pounds and could barely fit into fit into it. If you move you hit the temperature valve. Needs to have a smoke detector in the bedroom. Bottom boy's functionable and plenty of hot water.

A gem

The Heron cottage is a gem: Right on the water with its own deck and access to a floating dock. Just delightful views. Great opportunities for sunrise and sunset photos. Layout of cottage is perfect: cheerful bedroom, perfectly supplied furnishings and kitchen items. A rather small shower, but workable. Harraseeket Lobster pound just around the corner for lunches and takeout. Definitely hope to return.

Beautiful slice of coastal Maine life

The cottage was very comfortable, decorated nicely and well equipped. We had perfect weather and spent hours on the deck watching boats come and go from the yacht club next door. The cottage is a short but steep walk to a popular lobster restaurant and a short drive to endless shopping opportunities and several fine restaurants. But really, we were perfectly happy spending most of our time reading, relaxing and watching the yachting world go by. It was a lovely spot for a short but relaxing vacation.

Anniversary escape

We landed in this adorable Freeport cottage while looking to just get away for the weekend within an hour from home. It caught my eye on VRBO because of its tastefully decorated interior and the beautifully landscaped and picturesque exterior. At first I was concerned about the tides and the activity of the yacht club but once there, we thoroughly enjoyed the comings and going of the boats and just made sure we were on the dock when the tide was in so we could enjoy being on the water. Renting kayaks around the corner at Rings was effortless. The kayaks delivered to our cottage within 1/2 hr. Our hosts were responsive to questions about dining options and had a nice chat when they made sure we were all set once we arrived. The cottage bathroom is the only part that could use some updating as it is small but really we managed just fine. The chairs on the deck and dock were awesome and we appreciated the cozy blankets about as well. A five star stay! Thank you!
