About this property
Waterfront cottage for paddle boarding, kayaking, crabbing, and fishing
This renovated waterfront one bedroom cottage is located in a quiet community called Banks O'dee. Located one hour from DC, Budds Motorcross Speedway, Maryland International Raceway and close to wineries and historic Virginia.
The house itself offers a view of Cuckold Creek and Perry Branch to view from the pier or the screened in porch. The pier is shared with our home next door. We also have a boat ramp and a ladder for swimming off the pier.
You’ll find an abundance of wildlife here. It's not unusual to be sitting out in the yard and see bald eagles, osprey, swans & great blue heron doing their thing. Frequently, you will see deer standing along the side of Banks O’ Dee Road.
The house is located in an old fashioned charming community, on a creek right off the historic Potomac River. The community is very small and quiet, and the neighbors are very friendly!
You are more than welcome to bring your boat, jet ski, kayak or canoe and use our private pier along with the community boat ramp. You can navigate to several restaurants from Cuckold Creek to the Potomac river. Charter fishing, boat rentals, and cruises can be reserved at nearby Cobb Island. Crab traps, kayaks, and paddle boards are provided for your use.
Tourism from here: in Maryland, Virginia, Washington, DC area; One hour to all the following: U.S. Capitol and Museums, Old Town Alexandria, VA, Potomac Mills Shopping Mall (one of the largest malls on the east coast), Mt. Vernon (George Washington's Home), Fredericksburg (Antiques and Civil War battlefields), Robert E. Lee and George Washington birthplaces...Westmoreland Berry Farm.

We arrived late at night but check in was super easy. The house is cute and has a great screened in porch. There is a family of bluebirds that live in a birdhouse off the porch. We didn’t have great weather but it was early in the season. We had a wedding nearby and this was a great place to stay with our pup. The hosts are great.
Lovely water front spot. We were there for a wedding so didn’t have time to kayak or take advantage of area. Cottage was clean. Tina the host had great communication. Allowed us to bring our dogs as we couldn’t find a pet sitter for the weekend

Amazing place, beautiful lakefront property. We were staying there for a local event, but it would've been wonderful to have some more time to enjoy the property. Thanks to the owner who communicated very thoroughly and made the stay easy
It was very nice. Plenty of room for my husband and I. They had quality toilet paper and paper towels. I contacted the host a couple of times and she responded almost immediately. We had to change our plans on leaving our boat in the water because it was too far of a drive on the water so we trailered it and drove to a ramp closer to large mouth bass fishing. We asked if they could save parking for us with the trailer and they made arrangements daily to make room for us. It all worked out great.
We enjoyed our stay at the waterfront cottage with yoga on the dock in the morning, afternoon kayaking and dinner at Captain Billy’s Seafood restaurant. Down time spent reading and nature watching made the for the perfect weekend.
I thought it might need tongs for flipping the bacon at breakfast. It was very well stocked otherwise and clean.Very happy with our stay and super quiet and safe.
This is a comfortable place with a lovely view. It was easy to launch our kayaks and we really enjoyed our time on the water. The location is great and the neighborhood is peaceful. Our dogs love to swim and they had a great time, too!
We stayed here for the weekend while attending a car show at the raceway close by. Very private and welcoming. Great place to relax and unwind after a long day.
