Fantastic house right on the river. Just a few miles from Yosemite entrance. Our days were a quick breakfast, pack a picnic lunch then off on our adventures. Yosemite Valley, sequoias in Maricopa Grove. Hetch Hetchy and a walk along the lake, Cherry Lake was a beautiful spot. Back to the house after dinner. Great restaurants are in Groveland and at Rush Creek Lodge (reservations suggested)Don’t hesitate, this place is a great choice.

Location is exceptional, just minutes from the Yosemite park entrance. Owner support from Dan occurred essentially instantly from our few questions. The house is a bit rustic, but comfortable and fits the environment perfectly; and the river element is absolutely unique. Be sure to visit town and find the oldest saloon in CA.

The Riverfront House was a perfect location for us when we visited Yosemite. It was a short drive to the entrance and we were able to get there early and get right into the park. We had breakfast and dinner at the house and packed a lunch for the park. We enjoyed the quiet back at the house as well as wading in the river and sitting around a campfire. We would happily come back again!

The Riverfront house was very close to the park entrance. It appears to have new windows, wood floor and furnace. Lots of kitchen gear if you plan to cook there. The river out back is beautiful.

Our stay at Secret River Retreat was fabulous. We visited in late July/early August and it was a wonderful oasis to come back to each afternoon after visiting Yosemite. My kids loved having access to the stream. We cooked dinner each night and found the house had exactly what we needed. I also found the house nicely stocked with paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags, soap, etc. We did not have to purchase anything extra while we were here. The park is in a nice location- about 25 minutes to downtown Groveland where there is a nice grocery story and restaurants and only a short drive to the Big Flat Oak Entrance to Yosemite. Dan was very communicative and we appreciate his hospitality. We would defitnely stay here again.

This house was a hidden gem. We wished we had stayed two nights more. And just stayed at the house. It was the most relaxing part of our trip. The house has everything that you might need. It seems like someone lives there and just left for the weekend. It was quiet and dark at night. It seems isolated. Sitting by the river is peace! They have comfy chairs by the river. Best VRBO house that we’ve ever stayed in.

This property is very close to the entrance into Yosemite via 120. It also has a very nice creek/small river that runs behind the house with chairs and a picnic table. Very relaxing. The house and amenities could use some updating. The beds were comfortable but the linens needed to fit the beds. Because there is no internet or cell service in the area it was hard to connect with the host when we had some issues with check in. The host did his best to get us the needed information in a timely manner and followed up with us afterwards. I truly appreciated his efforts.

Hi Kathy, just reminding you that we discussed the two amenities you had issues with: one shower dial setting for hot and cold which is marked and explained on the check in instructions and there was one stove dial which you discovered to be cracked and we replaced after your check in (thank you for bringing this to our attention). Also, as discussed, the housekeeper had to use a set of back up sheets on your check in day but the two new sets for each bed are back in service and we added a third new set. Thank you for bringing these items to my attention. As you can tell in all the other reviews we take Guest comfort very seriously and strive to make sure every Guest has a top level experience.

if anything, maybe the grass needs a bit trimming and pathway and entrance to the river needs a little clearing. otherwise the house itself is nice. plenty of dishware, cookware, and linens. We enjoyed our stay and would goback

I'm glad you enjoyed Secret Rivers Retreat, Yogi, and look forward to you becoming another of our repeat guests. We actually did trim and rake leaves the week after you left, but things grow fast in Spring so it's a regular chore.
