Wildlife & Nature

Whispering Pines is home to abundant East Texas wildlife. Guests frequently spot white-tailed deer, wild turkey, great blue herons, wood ducks, red-tailed hawks, owls, armadillos, fox squirrels, and—on occasion—bald eagles near the pond in winter. The quiet setting makes wildlife encounters a natural part of the experience.

A Typical Day at Whispering Pines

Begin your morning on the porch with a warm cup of coffee as the sun rises over the pond and the forest slowly comes alive. Head to the water to fish from the dock, paddle the canoe, glide quietly in the flat-bottom boat, or enjoy a relaxed ride on the pedal boat.

Late mornings invite exploration—wander marked forest trails, visit the hidden spring-fed pool, or settle into a shaded spot with a book. Afternoons are ideal for grilling outdoors, napping inside, or letting kids roam freely across open space.

As evening settles in, unwind in the hot tub beneath a wide, star-filled sky. Gather around the firepit for s’mores, listen to the sounds of the forest, and enjoy the rare stillness that comes with true seclusion. End the night with deep, quiet rest.

Optional RV Suite — Sleeps 2 (Add-On)

This was by far the best stay we’ve had using VRBO or any other vacation rental company. The best thing about the property is it very private and they go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. The house is beautiful and spacious the pond is full of fish and the fire pit is just a perfect spot to hang out! David is an awesome host answering all my questions very fast and the occasional check in is nice too! I give this place a very high rating the only complaint I have is we ran out of time! Thank you David!
